Ive done a search and I didn't see this one, so I pose a question to the forumites out there, one of my forums friends asked me?

Would you vote for Donald Trump ?if this guy won the nomination of what ever party
Republican, Democrat, Tea Party, Capitalist Party?

Or do you think he has a chance of even winning the presidency?

My answer If I was American is.... HELL NO.

The guy is a smart idiot. I saw him on tv the other night yapping about Obama's birth certificate too - what is with this? This actually surprised me, again, made him look like an idiot. Maybe he should come to Canada and join our election campaign right now, he could run against our idiots.

And it's a hair thing - I mean, really.

I suspect he's really only making noise about it as a way to get free advertising for his TV projects.
There have been occasional millionaire independents out there that I WOULD consider for elected office, but not The Donald. His involvements in the goings on in the world have been too narrowly self-limited for him to be a good representative of any significantly sized portion of the electorate.

Maybe The Donald can have the crazy Palin as a running mate. That would be interesting, the dumbing of America. I do agree that that would get Obama reelected.

We need some characters like this in the great white north.

We'll see when election time comes around. As much as I like the idea of voting based on issues, the stranglehold of two party system in the US is becoming an issue. So if Trump was to run as an independent or somehow strangely run as a 'D'....maybe I would. He'd be 'considered' (by me) if he runs as anything other than 'R'.

If the only other person running was Obama, yes, yes I would.

Although in that case I may just write in "none of the above" and go off and cry somewhere.

Or do you think he has a chance of even winning the presidency?

Against anyone but Obama, no.
If someone puts up their pet cat, vs obama, vs trump...I think it will be a 3 way tie.

I do. I lost my original one. Have to have it in order to get my drivers license in this state, even though you can get a drivers license here if you are an illegal immigrant.
Took me 10 minutes to download the form for a birth certificate official copy (I had a choice between long or short form, or both, short was cheaper), fill it out, sign it, mail it off with a check for processing fees. Took about a week to process and have it mailed to me, and voila.

It's a sad sad state of affairs in this country when The Trump choice is an option, and NO, I wouldn't vote for the man!

Republican, Democrat, Tea Party, Capitalist Party?

I do believe that the United States needs more than a two prominent party option to vote from, however, IMO, I don't believe the tea party/capitalist party are two groups I'd include in the mix!

No, I wouldn't vote for him. Then again, he won't ever run. His ego wouldn't be able to take a loss, and I don't think he's the sort of man to take that risk.

Given all of the birther nonsense he's spewing, I'd love it if he was running in a primary against a (grown-up) "anchor baby." It would be classic.

Unfortunately he has a chance due to name recognition, and I predict his inflated ego will make him go for it unless his agents tell him he has no chance..

The economy is the big issue, and if it hasn't drastically improved by then many voters will be seeking more change.. Throw all the bums out AGAIN..

I would vote for him, just for the sake of him not being one of the usual suspects . As far as the 2 Big main party system we have in the USA, they really are both one and the same, being that they will tell you whatever to get you to vote for them, and of course blame the other party, when no one believes the bs that campaigned on to get you to vote for them. It always goes left to right, right to left. So many years this party and so many years of that party, but never any consideration for a few years of a new party. But hats off to whoever wins, they get to retire millionaires all the while when trying to state that it is bad to get a huge bonus or be rich. Funny how that is. In the meantime when someone asks me for their vote my answer is this, "Fine, but do You plan on doing the shoveling,or do you plan on me doing the shoveling, because I plan on being the one telling you where to go shovel."

"If Trump does run he will truly make the US a laughing stock. "

why would we be a laughing stock- we had an
actor who was president and when elected everyone
shuddered and now turns out he has become a
very respected man for some of his policies by
some political pundits so in looking at this
from a purely business aspect- take out the
hair and the reality shows- Mr. Trump is a very
successful business man- as successful as any
one person can be in this economic climate.

When voting- people need to look at the whole
picture and put personal predjudices aside.

It's who can do the best job and unless
president Obama does something to make
so many unhappy Americans happy then
he is looking at a very tough election.

The business I am in is struggling big time.
I have had my pay cut. Hours cut. You name it.

I am just barely keeping my house together

My partner is a retired veteran who served for 20
years. He retired a month before inaguration day.

He has yet to find full time employment here.

My industry is in defence and military. With
private sector customers selling electronics all
over the world. There is no money being funded
to buy these parts.

So. Laughing stock. No. We are crying here
just to keep it together and I don't care who it
is but someone needs to do something. Fast.

OK, but -2 for improper use of punctuation.

No.

Trump party.

Or do you think he has a chance of even winning the presidency?

He would have to run first which clearly he is not going to.

This is just another attention whore looking for more publicity for his show.

What say you all?

See above.

"If Trump does run he will truly make the US a laughing stock. "

To late there, as the rest of the world pretty much thinks that already with respect to American Politics.

As a supporter of President Obama I would be thrilled for The Whig Party Canidate to play the role of Ross Perot. The only thing that could make it better were if Bobby Jindahl or Sarah Palin got the Republican nod. Jindahl could do an exorcism at the Convention. Trump could clean up the Gulf with his sucker absorbent whig.

Just because Bloomberg was successful as mayor of NY, does not mean that every misogynistic billionaire can run the government. Plus his wife has the scariest eyes.

Trump for President

How long do you think it would be before the Donald took the United States into bankruptcy court and creatively sitck it to the federal creditors (like he has twice with his businesses)???While he insulated his personal wealth and that of all his cronies.

It is truly amazing how voters would vote for a person of such low quality...while calling the kettle black.

^^In other words if he ran and won he would be no different than any of the others. I personally don't know of any politicians on either side that are poor, but well you know, with the book deals, speaking fees, retirement packages, donations they receive and such, you would think that if they really cared about the country they would give all of this back instead of putting the burden on the tax payers. Here is your shovel.

Yes, we need someone familiar with bankruptcy court and how to stick creditors with the bill to run our country....but, when we give away an ownership stake in our country...who will we give it to???or will we find some legal clause to forget to pay our creditors...

By 1989, the effects of recession left Trump unable to meet loan payments. Trump financed the construction of his third casino, the $1 billion Taj Mahal, primarily with high-interest junk bonds. Although he shored up his businesses with additional loans and postponed interest payments, by 1991 increasing debt brought Trump to business bankruptcy and the brink of personal bankruptcy. Banks and bond holders had lost hundreds of millions of dollars, but opted to restructure his debt to avoid the risk of losing more money in court. The Taj Mahal re-emerged from bankruptcy on October 5, 1991, with Trump ceding 50% ownership in the casino to the original bondholders in exchange for lowered interest rates on the debt and more time to pay it off.

Trump has been caught in the 2008 financial crisis as sales for his Trump International Hotel and Tower in Chicago have been lagging and he failed to pay a $40m loan to Deutsche Bank in December. Arguing that the crisis is an Act of God, he invoked a clause in the contract to not pay the loan and initiated a countersuit asserting his image has been damaged. Deutsche Bank has in turn noted in court that 'Trump is no stranger to overdue debt' and that he has twice previously filed for bankruptcy with respect to his casino operations.

On February 17, 2009 Trump Entertainment Resorts filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy; Trump having stated on February 13 that he would resign from the board. Trump Entertainment Resorts has three properties in Atlantic City.
