Who actually is Alex Jones ?

Alex Jones is the guy who, on July 25, 2001, predicted that a false flag operation was in the works. He claimed that it would be something big and that it would be blamed on CIA asset Osama Bin Laden. He urged all of his listeners to call the Bush White House and request that they call it off. I'm serious.

That is part of the reason why so many young people trust him - he said what they already suspected, and he said it before "it" happened.

Who actually is Alex Jones ?

RPL:

TONS of self-proclaimed 'prognosticators' have played a game of making vague 'predictions,' then pretended that the next thing that happened that resembled what they said in some way, was what they were talking about. Others play a game of falsifying a 'prediction' by waiting until AFTER the event, then putting out a back-dated 'advance warning.'

Is there ANY independent verification at all that this guy ACTUALLY did what you describe? And, did he actually do ONLY that, or did he put out a plethora of warnings, all culled from past literature, and then simply wait for ONE of them to match up with reality later?

even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

but there is something else to consider. it's a paradigm, not a specific comment about jones per se. "conspiracy theories" and their ilk are always presented the loudest by asshats like alex jones. the genre that he peddles is never spoken of in more reasoned mainstream terms except in muted tones 50 years after the fact. that's why "we now know" we excused a bunch of Nazi scientists under the banner of Operation Paperclip but say even less about who financed Hitler in the first place. there is basically no socially acceptable medium for the anti-establishment message through any other kind of mouthpiece except the half-crazy one. and why would there be? it's necessarily a self-preserving system. the easiest way to summarily dismiss everything somebody says is to claim they are even just a little bit crazy. and yet we know conspiracies exist as history shows, and it would be absurdly naive to assume they simply all went away because we arrived at the doorstep of the 21st century and imagine ourselves to be sensibly skeptical and functionally omniscient.

there is a covert message here and it is this: the establishment is always right and proper and correct based on how they frame the terms of the debate, and everybody else is just plain batshit crazy. you can listen and laugh and mock, but you jeopardize your own sanity and therefore society's approval if you do anything less than accept the Status Quo at face value. don't question authority, especially your own tacit assumptions.

i actually think that message is a bit more interesting.

But who actually is he ?

Sounds like a nutter who has found a way to make a buck.

He sure is cashing in on it, BUT, there are the weak minded that actually believe him, and think that he is some type of guru....

True, even some of those weak minded ones also believe there is an invisible sky wizards, but hey I guess some are just more gullible than others.

Normally that is just sad, but if you talk to a group of 20 to 30 year olds, you would be stunned as to how many believe the crap he spouts. Not just believe, but if you try to prove otherwise they get extremely defensive, call names and act as if you are tearing into their very souls................

You mean like when you try and use common sense in a argument that gods are nothing more than a creation by man and even though the other person can show no tangible proof of such a entity they will tell you crap like "well you just have to have faith" and junk like that.

Ironic, n'est-ce pas?

Since wackos have been suckering followers in since there were wackos and followers, i don't think THIS can be blamed on modern educational problems, per se. Nevertheless, I DO wish schools were capable of teaching, and did teach, the basics of logical reasoning. But they have not, ever in the history of the nation. At least not the public schools. I know of no other nation whose schools do so either, though that doesn't mean there isn't one.

Alex Jones was pretty specific. He was aware of government involvement in the 1993 WTC bombing and in the Murrah federal building bombing. He felt that the government wanted to enact some sort of liberty destroying legislation and turn the world into a "Prison Planet." (The name of one of his websites)

Jones said that America wasn't scared enough yet - an odd Muslim cleric (the "Blind Sheik") and one lone crazy army vet (McVeigh) just didn't scare people, so "they" needed something big. That's why he made his prediction.

A man named William Cooper had made the same prediction one month earlier.

Here's a short clip of portions of Jones' July 25, 2001 broadcast.

The Patriot Act was introduced in the Senate on October 5, 2001, 342 pages of legalese, just over 3 weeks after 9/11.

Again with the "They're both just theories" nonsense. Go learn what the word THEORY actually means, scientifically. Sloppy use of terminology does NOT make sloppy thinking correct.
