New Year's Eve DatePage 1 of 1
Just curious, would you go out tonight with someone that you knew you really didn't want to bring in the year with? The person is a friend but just not the one and he definitely wants more. Leaning towards just staying in or going to the boat to play roulette because I've never done that I've always wanted to.

Thoughts?

Go to the boat.

Your night will be "guilt", and his night will be "disappointment" if you go out with him.

Neither of you need either of those

Happy new year to all!!!

Personally, I have no great impressions of a new year's date. For some this holds some special significance, for others(like me) it's just another day in the year.

Too many make this all about something special or try to hard.

OP for you the problem is two fold. You seem to hold the evening in some significance. Second you don't see this guy as dating material. Why would you date him, if it was next wednesday or any day?

Go to the boat and have a blast!

Not date him. Just hang out cause he was trying to get me out of the house. He is a friend. We've been friends for over 3 years. I just know he wants more so I'm reluctant. When I felt he was cool being friends, I had no problem hanging out with him.

I don't understand why so many people feel this need to have a "date" for weddings and these silly little holidays (New Years, Valentine's etc.). I'd much rather be with friends and possibly MEET someone at an event, instead of bringing someone, fearing I may look bad otherwise, or whatever the silly reason is.
People need to quit being so insecure about being by themselves and enjoy their family and friends.
But that's just an old spinster talking, so I'm used to it.

I'll be hookin up with a girl I met off of here; I think.

We're buds, we get along. She's an engineer who's older than me, and her silhouette kicks a&&.

I like hanging with her.

I'll try to get her in bed, without getting eaten alive (looking immature, over eager, and dumb); and she'll try to get me in bed without looking old and desperate.

It's a fun dance; I like it.

Same though; unless it's a huge friend get together or a special date; I really dont do too much, accept eat and drink well and chill out with family and close friends. Tonight; it's lights and a band. (and cougs)

Happy New Years Oy Vay.

Very classy. And he is a friend. He's just trying to change that role which makes it a little akward now.

LOL I was messaged by a woman this morning (an initial contact) who asked me if I was free tonight. I told her I had plans. By the time I got home (after 2 AM) I had received two messages from her on here telling me I was the reason she would be deleting her profile. lol. How about that shit? I don't need a date on a holiday. I'm blessed with amazing friends and family. Imagine if I would've agreed to date this woman who is just a few jelly beans shy of a full Easter basket...

Happy New Year!....I hope you enjoyed seeing the New Year without the 'friend'! . Why make yourself miserable with someone you dont want to be with?

I went with a galpal who drives me NUTS! she didnt know the people at the party but still decided to make derogatory comments on the music etc., this year I go to the NYE party alone (well, unless I meet Mr Dreamy) lol

I hope she had fun...
i had my 2 sons over, they left @ 10 pm, then I laid on the couch in my bathrobe & watched TV. Better to fall asleep watching TV alone than be w/ someone u r not crazy about...New Year's Eve is supposed to be the night u r w/ someone special...I guess that makes me special
 U make it entertaining
