I think a bunch of us should get together and go on a road trip!!! Say down the west coast, over to Arizona, New Mexico, maybe even Texas, they say everything is bigger in Texas!! What do y'all think?

Thought about that. But I know for sure my car would get stolen in New Mexico or Texas. Lol, Texas is like a 4x4 cowboy state. Everyone there drives trucks. Only cool thing is they increased the speed limit there to 80mph so the getaways would be no prob.

That's the spirit of adventure right there! Once I fell in the shower at home and had a bruise from my thigh to my knee. So bad things happen in your own bathroom at home. Actually those trucks they drive cost a fortune and in big cities like Dallas and Houston and places like Austin and Santa Fe they drive luxury vehicles so I'm fairly sure your car is safe.

I'm not sure if this should be listed as an event or not. (?) I might not be able to swing it until next winter. If enough interest is generated a date will just have to be set to give everyone time to plan accordingly. Should be fun though. If enough people go smaller groups could do different things during the day with a set destination to meet up each night. JMHO. Open to suggestions.

I know the Gumball 2012 car rally is coming up this spring or early summer. It's an insane rally/race free for all, however you plan on driving it rally. It's a 7 day event, east coast to west coast or visa versa, not sure which really. I know Las Vegas is one stop off point. Heard it's a totally awesome rally, get to meet a lot of cool people and the party events are awesome. Have no idea what this event/rally costs to join in on.

You have to submit an application and if you are accepted:

The rally costs £25,000 (~$50K US) to enter, this buys entry for 2 people and one car.

My sister and I went on an 81 day road trip and got home just in time for Thanksgiving. We had so much fun. Eleven states including Texas. I was not impressed with Texas. We followed the coast from Texas to Florida. Dauphin Island was awesome. It was the first time we did not have to be anywhere. And if we wanted to head out in a different direction we did. Our trip was amazing, and I highly recomend it!

I've lived in Texas for 5 years. It's actually nothing like that. And I drive a Honda, not a truck. Just sayin

I'm up for a road trip in europe or africa or any other country, but not the US sorry.

It would be cool to get a bunch of POFers together though for a trip like that.

You all are cracking me up with your beliefs about Texas! Perhaps if you knew someone here to visit and show you around your experience would be better?

It took awhile but I'm gonna take my road trip. Anyplace with no snow... my car doesn't like snow!!! Am thinking about the Redwoods in CA. Maybe Alcatraz then on down to San Diego and then across to Tombstone back up to the Grand Canyon and any place else that seems fun at the time.
