Notice: Forums will be shutdown by June 2019

To focus on better serving our members, we've decided to shut down the POF forums.

While regular posting is now disabled, you can continue to view all threads until the end of June 2019. Event Hosts can still create and promote events while we work on a new and improved event creation service for you.

Thank you!

Plentyoffish dating forums are a place to meet singles and get dating advice or share dating experiences etc. Hopefully you will all have fun meeting singles and try out this online dating thing... Remember that we are the largest free online dating service, so you will never have to pay a dime to meet your soulmate.

No i would`nt change my preferences /standards, simply to "up my chances", why should i ?, why should any one ?, when you do that, it starts to make you look a bit desperate, i`ve been single almost 5 years now, and i mean in the literal sense, no dates etc, but i still wont change what i`m looking for, as floetry67 said above, its an insult to the person you do settle for, ( how would she feel if she found out your only with her because you couldnt find what/who you really wanted ),

Be yourself, and stick to what you DO want, even if it takes time, hell, 36 is no age, your still a youngster ! :O)

You shouldn't be writing to people that you don't think you'd actually be interested in, no. But on the other hand, it's probably a good idea to reflect on whether your standards are reasonable, if you're getting no hits.
