Magnetic Polar Shift... thoughtsPage 1 of 1
The earth's magnetic poles have already shifted many times over the course of geologic time. Big deal. The geographic poles have also shifted. Again, big deal. The worst that can possibly happen is we need to re-orient our compasses. The geniuses who program the GPS units have probably already taken this into account. Remember how 'Y2K' was going to be 'The End Of EVERYthing!' ... ? Barnum is still right ...

'On the horizon' ... ? Seriously ... ? Sez who ... ? Don't trust CoastToCoastAM ...

This is NOT the 'cause' of 'changing weather patterns'. 'Weather' is what happens day-to-day. 'Climate' is 'weather' over time. It has always changed; it will always change.

'Science' says it's a fact ... ? WHICH 'science' ... ? This 'claim' is bo-oh-oh-oh-ohhhhhhhhh-GUS.

The earth will NOT 'shift on its axis' any more than it does now.

The earth will NOT suffer more earthquakes. Magnetic poles do nothing to affect the geology of any quake zone.

The earth will NOT have a 'wiping out' of life simply because of some random magnetic change in polarity.

The earth's crust will NOT be affected by a NON-physical event.

Axial shift is NOT a rapid phenomenon. When it happens, it happens on geologic, not human, timelines. We won't even be around when this occurs.

The idiots who bought underground condos will wind up like the Millerites in the 1800s after they learnt they were deceived by their 'prophet', one Mr Miller. Seems he just couldn't convince Ol' Jeebus to put in an appearance any more than Harold Camping was able to do years later. Oh. Do they believe their cute li'l underground condos will be immune to the effects of an ( ahem ) ... EARTHQUAKE ... ? Just sayin' ...

Like what was once said about PCBs: "Panic Creates Business". Still true.

Pour yourself a cold one and relax....

YOU don't use the magnetic field to navigate yourself...

Did you buy the buckets of 'Emergency Food Storage Kit for a year" from Sams Club?
They fly off the shelves like hotcakes.
A well advertised disaster is excellent for business.

Minor point about thinking about this: the reports of earthquakes causing shifts in rotation or axial tilt aren't new occurrences. It's only that it is newly possible to actually measure that they have happened. Don't confuse those things.

In other words, it's a phenomenon of "reporting the news," that is wise to keep in mind at all times.

That a given reporter and editor are only just now discovering something and getting excited about it, doesn't mean that it's new to the rest of the planet.

As for what would happen IF there was a sudden very large shift in the magnetic poles, from what I've read there would be peck 'o troubles. Everything from bird migration being confused, to airplanes having trouble with navigation, to satellite outages. I don't bother pondering it much, for the simple reason that there's not a darn thing I could do about it.
