I`m wondering how men would feel about being in a relationship with a woman who views porn on the internet on a regular basis when she`s alone.....Would this be detrimental or instrumental in maintaining a healthy relationship?
Do many women engage in this activity? For women is it more likely you would view porn while single or in a relationship?

I think its perfectly healthy for a woman to watch porn while in a relationship...my ex used to and would call me as she was watching it sometimes or bring home ideas on things to try etc...I think its awesome to be honest...on the flip side, if you are not comfortable with the size of your manhood, I would see that being a problem for guys...other than that, you go girl...watch that midget and camel porn!

^^ that's why I prefer to see my porn on the internet.....you can specify what you want to see.

and yes, I watch it occassionally by myself...and I am in a relationship.
gets the motor running, ya know!

porn is no different than anything else in life.....too much of anything is bad......

My girlfriend looks at porn online all the time. Most often it's gay male porn, which is fine with me because she then comes to bed craving anal sex.

I don't have any problem with it. I actually like the idea that a woman is open minded and looks for ways to enjoy her sexuality. Why not ask to watch some with her to see what she enjoys. You might just enjoy all the benefits of this hobby with her.

Women viewing porn.....doesn't mean this ..

But to anwser the OP's question

It can be good or bad depending on the effect it has on the relationship. Only the OP can determine if the effects are negative

I have watched porn with my ex and alone, I would share what I saw with him and we would explore and experience different things I saw. I don't think it is a problem unless she is constantly watching it and can only get off because of it. It can be a healthy addition to a relationship if both are in argeement.

I enjoy the irony of all this.. People who are the victims/causes of failed marriages and relationships talking about how porn has had a successful impact with the relationship between them and their partner.. Obviously.. Welcome to the "We are Successful with Relationships" club.

I love watching gay porn and don't know why LOL...but I know it's not because I am craving anal!

I like to watch how they give blow jobs...I have learned a thing or two

...and of course I mainly watch "regular"...what gets me off the most is watching oral performed on the woman...I don't get turned on by the actual porn, it's me imagining it's being done to me :D

...and other times I will learn a new thing that we will later explore it together...it's all fun

It's a very general question, OP. As I can see from the responses so far, a lot of people here (I think correctly) realize that ANYTHING can be bad for a relationship, or good for it, or entirely meaningless to it, depending on the details.

As for this old saw:

People who are the victims/causes of failed marriages and relationships talking about how porn has had a successful impact with the relationship between them and their partner.. Obviously.. Welcome to the "We are Successful with Relationships" club.

it involves tons of prejudice on the part of the speaker, about who exactly he is talking about. Speak for yourself, not for me.
Plus, people who have been through any difficulty before, are generally far more reliable sources of useful information about it, than those who have not.

Finally in that subject, even if we ARE all "failures at relationships," who better to help each other, than those who know what our lives are about? Ever ask a congenitally rich person how to deal with the challenges of poverty? Hint: their solutions usually involve the poor person already having lots of money.

The only experience I had with it, was relatively unique. My bipolar ex both castigated me for enjoying porn on occasion, and also indulged in exactly the same thing herself. So that was a small example of a bad "women who view porn"-related situation.

My own conclusion so far is, that human sexuality has always included some amount of what gets called "porn," so when we deal with it in a healthy way, it will tend to enhance our lives, and when we deal with it in an antagonistic and/or humanity-denying manner, it will tend to tear down our lives.

The viewing of or the not viewing of porn had nothing to do with the end of any of my relationships.

That being said, if one of a couple indulges on a more regular basis than the other, or prefers the videos over their more than willing and eager partner, there will be a problem in the relationship.

I have watched porn with my partners. I'm not really a fan of commercially made porn.. it's far too fake for my tastes. I prefer amateur porn.

If men can do it and claim to maintain a healthy relationship, why can't a woman?

I have no problem watching porn alone, with him, or while doing it together...
It excites me.
It excites him.
So why not!

The only time I've watched it is with him.........and frankly the porn today sickens me.......rather than turn on..its turn off..........from ass to mouth to p.ss to ass..............just the thought of it makes me gag.

Not only that anymore. I saw a new porn a few months back where a chick licks the guy's armpits. I was like wtf
I don't watch porn any longer. It's too unrealistic and they have rough sex.

I love my porn collection and my sites. I've viewed my sites in and out of a relationship. At best I could say it helped when I wasn't satisfied in the sexual part of a relationship.

for many women, porn is not pictures on the Internet, but the romance novels/chicklit/literotica they read.

in other words, they may be looking at porn while you're looking in the wrong place to catch them :)

I've never been in a relationship with a woman who watched porn, or at least didn't openly admit it, but I wouldn't mind it, so long as the purpose is more for gaining new ideas about how to mix it up in the bedroom via new positions. If she looks to it more for, I guess you can call it educational purposes, I'm cool, but if she needs it to help her get off, or has an addiction then I would have a problem with it.
