How long from when you legally separate until you can file for your divorce?

With all due respect, that has nothing to do with us. Some people are separated for years. It also has nothing to do with a profile review.

OP, your photos are okay but I would like to see at least one more outside photo.

Also, you need to write in short paragraphs rather than one sentence. What are you looking for in a lady? Tell us more about what you do for fun and you in general.

All the best.x

You're right, I personally don't care. However, if he is looking to date and has a "separated" tag, most women will avoid him unless he can say he has started the final paperwork. In some countries you have to wait ages to file, in some it's relatively quick. Perhaps it's common knowledge in his country about the wait period, I really don't know. However, it's still going to be a red flag as a stand-alone comment. My personal thought is that someone should wait at least a year (and you've said it's been a year) after any kind of breakup before you start looking again. That may enough for some who are not worried about emotional baggage/rebound relationships. Just another perspective.

In England and Wales the only requirement for a divorce is that you've been married for 12 months or more. After that you can divorce at any point.

With all due respect that is balderdash. Putting "separated" on your online dating profile is akin to putting "I am a drug addict" on your resume. You're pretty unlikely to get many jobs but of course you can't lie about these things. So what to do about it? Well most viewers will instantly click away as soon as they see the separated status, but you might retain a few if you explain it in the profile text. So it's totally relevant to a profile review.

OP: the pics are quite bad quality. Can't you get some better ones?
Your interests are too few, and too generic.
Your about me is far too brief and generic also. You don't stand out form the crowd at all. You need to write with passion and excitement, make it sound like you're a great guy to be with. Why would a woman respond to you rather than the 10 other guys who messaged her this morning?

Get rid of all your message filters, they achieve nothing helpful. Blocking messages from unsuitable women doesn't increase traffic from suitable ones.

And get the divorce rolling. There's really no reason to remain married to someone if the marriage is over.

So you went from "Separated" to "Single" overnight??? Ohhhh noooo.... Do you have any idea how p1ssed off your viewer will be when she finds out you lied?

"Separated" is probably one of the biggest red flags on a dating profile. Do not mess with that until you can legally say "Divorced". If you were not legally married in the first place (ie: common law), you may be OK, but no... don't start with a lie. Just make sure you have brilliant photos and a descriptive, engaging profile to help overlook that potential trainwreck situation.

In Canada, you can be 'common-law' spouses without a legal ceremony and do not need a formal divorce when you separate. You simply become 'single' again. If this is how it works there, you have a loophole and can claim 'single'. If there was a legal marriage, you would be legally (hopefully) separated before you can be legally divorced.

In any event, work on adding engaging photos and descriptive humour in your profile body.

There is a big urban myth about "common law" marriage in England and Wales. Many people speak about it but there's no such legal term. You're either married, or you're not.
