They were likely con artists whose accounts were deleted by the site.

Those with deleted accounts will not show on Users Who Viewed Me.

Mail Settings has the option to enable secret viewing of profiles.

They could have been space aliens with quantum digital cloaking devices.

With its massive user base, POF has no need to generate fraudulent Who Favored Me notifications.

Is it a new method from you to make traffic?

No; it's a very old method!!

I'd recommend you simply ignore "favourite", "meet me" etc notifications. The only thing you need to watch, is your inbox. Anyone who is genuinely interested in meeting you will send you a message. Ignore the bells and whistles this site has to offer, they are a waste of time and brain-power trying to figure out who sent them and why. Just stick to the core functionality of messages sent and received.

People MUST GO to your profile to add you as a Fave. Of course there is no requirement to READ any of it. They need only spend a second or two to scroll to the bottom to click Add to Favorites.

Why they are gone or deleted [or at least appear to be] is completely irrelevant.

You have been here 13 months now. Plenty of time for you to have "played with" all of the available site features...

And learned what purpose each one serves and what each one does and does not do.

Learning what each one does and does not do WILL increase your chances here for whatever it is you are hoping to accomplish at this site.

It's your CHOICE to do so.

The earlier advice offered by the poster named Mark_It_Up makes complete and total sense.

I delete the "favorites" as users motion to add me. There's no point of being bookmarked (track), when they don't follow up with communication. (I don't initiate communication.)

It's my opinion that you shouldn't worry about those users that were probably deleted by the system for profile problems. Your concern should rest with people who actually communicate their interest.

I would say that most likely they are created by spam robots to advertise porn sites or whatever. They favourite as many people as possible in order to draw traffic to the site they are advertising, but POF shuts them down as soon as they detect their spam-like behaviour.

But we'll never know since we don't have access to POF code or database.

I wouldn't waste any more time thinking about this. Simply divert all favourite and meet me emails to your trash folder and be done with it. If anyone really wants to meet you, they'll send you a proper message.

PoF is part of the largest dating Corporation in the World.
I use 'Corporation' quite deliberately here. The sole function
for it's existence is the generation of huge amounts of money.
So yes, of course it puts up Clickbait..........

But what if you are a bit far away from that man and maybe thinking of moving to your area some time in the future? This is the main reason I add to Favorites.

I have had several profiles add me as a favorite, all with different names but same profile pic and same profile saying that the messenger doesn't work and to use "her" email. Can I upload the pic somewhere so everyone can see it and know she's a fake?

You could, but it will get your account deleted because it's strictly against site rules.
How would you feel if a pissed off woman used your name here in a post saying bad things about you?
The site has no way of knowing truth vs lies.
Not enough moderators to do this kind of investigating.
All you can do is use the report user button.
You seem to get angry about a lot of things that most normal people ignore and move on.
