Jimmy Carter Unleashed:
ByJoseph Curl

At 93, Jimmy Carter is cutting loose.

The former president sat down with The New York Times recently and chatted about all kinds of subjects. The Times decided to play up the fact that Carter — one of the worst presidents in U.S. history — would love to go over to North Korea as an envoy.

But the Times is steadily proving how out of touch it is, and how it no longer seems to actually "get" what real news is.

Here are some major highlights from the interview:

1. The Russians didn't steal the 2016 election.

Carter was asked "Did the Russians purloin the election from Hillary?"

"I don’t think there’s any evidence that what the Russians did changed enough votes — or any votes," Carter said.

So the hard-left former president doesn't think the Russians stole the election? Take note, Capitol Hill Democrats.

2. We didn't vote for Hillary.

Carter and his wife, Roselyn, disagreed on the Russia question. In the interview, she "looked over archly [and said] 'They obviously did'" purloin the election.

“Rosie and I have a difference of opinion on that,” Carter said.

Rosalynn then said, “The drip-drip-drip about Hillary.”

Which prompted Carter to note that during the primary, they didn't vote for Hillary Clinton. "We voted for Sanders.”

3. Obama fell far short of his promises.

Barack Obama whooshed into office on pledges of delivering "hope and change" to the country, spilt by partisan politics.

He didn't. In fact, he made it worse.

"He made some very wonderful statements, in my opinion, when he first got in office, and then he reneged on that," he said about Obama's action on the Middle East.

4. Media "harder on Trump than any president."

A recent Harvard study showed that 93% of new coverage about President Trump is negative.

But here's another shocker: Carter defended Trump.

"I think the media have been harder on Trump than any other president certainly that I've known about," Carter said. "I think they feel free to claim that Trump is mentally deranged and everything else without hesitation."

5. NFL players should "stand during the American anthem."

Carter, who joined the other four living ex-presidents on Saturday for a hurricane fundraiser, put his hand on his heart when the national anthem played — and he has a strong opinion about what NFL players should do, too.

"I think they ought to find a different way to object, to demonstrate," he said. " I would rather see all the players stand during the American anthem."

Hmm, so when a former Republican President--George W Bush--spoke out against Chump, Lobster was silent. But when Carter speaks out, suddenly Lobster can hear...its a miracle! Or to quote D, isn't it funny the other side who used to hate this president is now quoting him. Even when:

"But the Times is steadily proving how out of touch it is, and how it no longer seems to actually "get" what real news is."

So Lobster is starting a post..with fake news by an out of touch source? Wow, why? But ok, let's work with Lobster's out of touch news source.

So Carter thinks there's no evidence votes were changed, and that must be proof no attempt was made. Again to quote an old D post, if someone commits a crime and fails to pull it off, are they innocent? Apparently his wife disagrees with Lobster. Meanwhile, the couple voted for a Democrat. What news! so did a lot of others. In fact, a Democrat won the popular vote in America. Did Obama get a lot done in the Middle East? Gosh, I think Bibi did as much as possible to get in the way of peace in the Middle East. Is the media hard on Chump? deservedly so! If you fail on a daily basis and go golfing on the weekends at tax payer expense (ie, we pay for golfing on your property) and run out the Secret Service budget halfway thru the year, you should get criticized.

well, that is because any semblance of a compliment directed at Trump from another former POTUS is as RARE as a pink diamond...and as such Cobster (double zero) couldn't believe his ears, that something semi-positive was being said about his hero....regardless of the source.

Its like putting a drop of water in the mouth of person dying of thirst.....its an unexplainable pleasure, regardless of how it got there!

So Lobster is starting a post..with fake news by an out of touch source? Wow, why?

because to be true to his nature....he can't help but make an a$$ of himself; otherwise he'll go through some form of asinine withdrawal syndrome

Jp is not a part of the Podesta Group, and is not under investigation....which is self described as a "bipartisan team of global public affairs specialists" The KEY word is BIPARTISAN. Lets not forget that all this is connected to the manafort investigation....which is not about to stop.....but "nice" try anyway!

here is an article that explains it best,... if you are permitted to read it from a source other than fake FOX news!

Now Democrats have a Russia problem

Modal Trigger Now Democrats have a Russia problem

Lefty cheers for Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian meddling in US politics may soon fade now that he’s reportedly looking into a top Democratic lobbyist.

NBC reports that Tony Podesta (the brother of Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman, John Podesta) and his firm are the subjects of a criminal investigation by the special prosecutor.

And this comes amid new reports that the FBI gathered evidence for two years as Russian agents — including a major sleeper cell — worked to gain access to then-Secretary of State Clinton, husband Bill and members of their inner circle.

All of which underscores that, yes, Russia has long been trying to worm its way into US politics. But that effort went far, far beyond any schemes to help elect Donald Trump president.

The Podesta probe concerns suggestions he failed to fully disclose spending (a felony) while lobbying for a pro-Russian Ukrainian group.

The firm updated its foreign-agent-registration forms only after news reports disclosed Podesta’s payments from the European Center for a Modern Ukraine.

Meanwhile, The Hill is reporting new details of a years-long FBI investigation that tracked Moscow’s covert influence-buying activities — including planting a spy posing as an accountant in the offices of a top Clinton donor.

Team Hillary has long denied that she was a target of the spy ring, but an FBI source told The Hill: “There is not one shred of doubt from the evidence that we had that the Russians had set their sights on Clinton’s inner circle.”

All this, of course, follows reports the Obama administration knew Russia was engaged in a campaign of bribery and extortion — yet allowed a deal to go through giving Moscow control of one-fifth of America’s uranium.

Yes, there’s something to investigate here. But it goes way beyond Donald Trump

I welcome it, the more the merrier

NBC reports that Tony Podesta (the brother of Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman, John Podesta) and his firm are the subjects of a criminal investigation by the special prosecutor.

you forgot to mention that it comes as an off-shoot of Manafort, Trump's campaign manager....JP & Hc have no connections with the Podesta group

And this comes amid new reports that the FBI gathered evidence for two years as Russian agents — including a major sleeper cell — worked to gain access to then-Secretary of State Clinton, husband Bill and members of their inner circle.

HC has long been a target of Russian agents even before she was SOS

All of which underscores that, yes, Russia has long been trying to worm its way into US politics. But that effort went far, far beyond any schemes to help elect Donald Trump president.

keep jurking yourself off....I guess that is why Assange & Putin released the wikileaks to harm HC, and to intentionally help Trump win!....did he do it because he had such a good relationship with HC?

The Podesta probe concerns suggestions he failed to fully disclose spending (a felony) while lobbying for a pro-Russian Ukrainian group.

he did fail to disclose it....but the hard part will be whether he did it intentionally, or if it was just negligence...which is why prosecutions are RARE in these cases

The firm updated its foreign-agent-registration forms only after news reports disclosed Podesta’s payments from the European Center for a Modern Ukraine.

you mean just like Manafort, Flynn, Kushner...and several others had to do?

Meanwhile, The Hill is reporting new details of a years-long FBI investigation that tracked Moscow’s covert influence-buying activities — including planting a spy posing as an accountant in the offices of a top Clinton donor.

This is old news, that accountant spy was long ferreted out

Team Hillary has long denied that she was a target of the spy ring, but an FBI source told The Hill: “There is not one shred of doubt from the evidence that we had that the Russians had set their sights on Clinton’s inner circle.”

She was told to deny it, because an FBI sting was also in progress...and they did not wanna disrupt the operatives....Duuuuuuuuh

All this, of course, follows reports the Obama administration knew Russia was engaged in a campaign of bribery and extortion — yet allowed a deal to go through giving Moscow control of one-fifth of America’s uranium.

So did various regulatory committees, including the nuclear reg commission and Its Canadian counter-part...who signed off on it. So if you are stupid enough to believe that nobody in the GOP knew about it...then feel free to indulge yourself in your own vast stupidity.

Team Hillary has long denied that she was a target of the spy ring, but an FBI source told The Hill: “There is not one shred of doubt from the evidence that we had that the Russians had set their sights on Clinton’s inner circle.”

Yule licking his trophy, it's one thing to believe and trust in something/someone, it's another thing to keep believing when you know things didn't turn out with what was said/promised. Except the problem for the orally fixated is, the investigation began looking at Manafort, and found that Podesta may have been one of the 6 firms working on the project:

From Andrew McCarthy:

The Uranium One scandal is both a Clinton and Obama scandal, McCarthy noted.

“The Clintons were just doing what the Clintons do: cashing in on their ‘public service.’ The Obama administration, with Secretary Clinton at the forefront but hardly alone, was knowingly compromising American national-security interests.

“The administration green-lighted the transfer of control over one-fifth of American uranium-mining capacity to Russia, a hostile regime – and specifically to Russia’s state-controlled nuclear-energy conglomerate, Rosatom. Worse, at the time the administration approved the transfer, it knew that Rosatom’s American subsidiary was engaged in a lucrative racketeering enterprise that had already committed felony extortion, fraud, and money-laundering offenses.”

The Obama administration “also knew that congressional Republicans were trying to stop the transfer,” McCarthy wrote. “Consequently, the Justice Department concealed what it knew. DOJ allowed the racketeering enterprise to continue compromising the American uranium industry rather than commencing a prosecution that would have scotched the transfer. Prosecutors waited four years before quietly pleading the case out for a song, in violation of Justice Department charging guidelines.”

Meanwhile, the Obama administration “stonewalled Congress, reportedly threatening an informant who wanted to go public.”

The Obama administration “needed to make this case go away – without a public trial if at all possible,” McCarthy wrote.

“Think about this: The investigation of Russian racketeering in the American energy sector was the kind of spectacular success over which the FBI and Justice Department typically do a bells-n-whistles victory lap – the big self-congratulatory press conference followed by the media-intensive prosecutions . . . and, of course, more press conferences.”

But, “here . . . crickets.”

Its Hillaryous that everyone here who supported Chump's chumminess with Putin and Russia, oh how great it was an American president was reaching out...is suddenly silent on Obama and HRC allegedly reaching out to do business with Russia! How they suddenly became this big, bad, evil empire! Maybe they should have tried to do a hotel deal in Moscow instead :)

speaking of L'Enfant Terrible, how is his latest temper tantrum working, or not working?

"The back-and-forth then escalated even further as Corker launched a series of withering criticisms against Trump in interviews at the Capitol prompting more Twitter fire from Trump and still more angry retorts from Corker.
In one tweet, Trump wrote, "People like liddle' Bob Corker have set the U.S. way back. Now we move forward!"
It was not clear how the conflict would end, if at all. Privately, Senate GOP aides were expressing dismay at a dispute that could only frustrate their already stymied efforts to produce results to take to voters in next year's midterm elections."

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/remarkable-public-row-between-trump-gop-sen-corker/ar-AAtYg9d?li=BBmkt5R&ocid=spartandhp

great for a reality TV show, lousy for a country. But the protester flinging Russian flags at Chump, calling him a traitor...maybe that'll get another twit, rather than an accomplishment.

YIKES, I love it when liberals want to compare a scandal with getting along with another country. Gto is going to new lows, surprise surprise. Getting along with a country doesn't mean you trust said country, it is all about getting what you want. This uranium thingy is not exactly how ya do it.....YIKES!!! But then it had nothing to do with bettering the USA, nothing corrupt hillary does is to better anyone else except her. Obama, Lynch and Holder, looks like the future of hearing about them is coming and it sounds like it might not be what they want us to hear.

Even Breitbart declares the story debunked:

"During an interview with C-SPAN, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said the controversy surrounding the 2010 uranium deal between Russia and the Obama administration had been “debunked.” Clinton said “I would say it’s the same baloney they’ve been peddling for years, and there’s been no credible evidence by anyone. In fact, it’s been debunked repeatedly and will continue to be debunked.” She continued, “But here is what they are doing and I have to give them credit. Trump and his allies, including Fox News, are really experts at distraction and diversion. So the closer the investigation about real Russian ties between Trump associates and real Russians, as we heard Jeff Sessions finally admit to in his testimony the other day, the more they want to just throw mud on the wall. I’m their favorite target. Me and President Obama, we are the ones they like to put in the crosshairs.”

http://www.breitbart.com/video/2017/10/23/hillary-clinton-uranium-one-stories-debunked/

so here's the facts:

"As PolitiFact found, the majority of these donations were made before and during Clinton’s 2008 presidential run. So Trump’s claim that Hillary Clinton “gave [uranium to] Russia for a big payment” is not accurate. If she had actually become president, she would have had more power over the deal than as the head of one agency among nine represented on CFIUS. The Trump campaign also noted that Bill Clinton received speaking fees while the Uranium One deal was underway. After the Russians announced that they would acquire stakes in Uranium One, and while the Kremlin was promoting the purchase, Bill Clinton received $500,000 in 2010 for a speech in Moscow from a Russian investment bank that had ties to the Kremlin. Putin personally thanked Clinton, the Wall Street Journal reported, adding that a review of Bill Clinton’s speeches “found no evidence that speaking fees were paid to the former president in exchange for any action by Mrs. Clinton.”

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/fact-checker/wp/2016/10/26/the-facts-behind-trumps-repeated-claim-about-hillary-clintons-role-in-the-russian-uranium-deal/?utm_term=.89cd181ace3e

and the Politifact article, pointing out the timing is waaaay off:

http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2016/jun/30/donald-trump/donald-trump-inaccurately-suggests-clinton-got-pai/

as usual, John can lick his trophy, but it doesn't pass the smell test. But thanks for playing. Let's focus on something real, like how Pence helped reduce consumers' rights the next time a Wells Fargo or Equifax screws them. KJ can tell us how its HRC who's in the pocket of Wall St, when Chump and Pence are helping the big economic companies to offer less compensation to little guys like them, when they the corporations wrong.

"Many consumers must go through an arbitrator to resolve financial disputes, but the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau finalized a rule that bans most types of mandatory arbitration clauses. The rule exposed banks to large class-action lawsuits. Supporters say that possibility would help ensure banks, credit card companies and other lenders treat consumers appropriately. The vote comes months after House action and reflects the effort of the Trump administration and congressional Republicans to undo regulations that the GOP argues harm the free market. Democrats said before the vote that nullifying the rule would be a victory for Wall Street. "
