Are you ready to sleep with these two?Page 1 of 4    (1, 2, 3, 4)
There's an attractive local profile that includes a picture of two dogs and the caption "Are you ready to sleep with these two?" Ummm, no!

I understand that people sleep with their pets. But the first few bumbling times in the dark, I would like to be alone and not kicking Fido(s) off the bed with one foot...

How do you feel about sleeping with other peoples pets (particularly early in a relationship)?

I think it would feel odd, early in the relationship, to engage in some pigtail-pulling doggy style and look over and see an expression on the dog's face (as some dogs really do seem to express their thoughts on their face)...like its probably thinking, "dude! I had better form with the poodle next door, and what's with YOUR facial expression? You look like Goofy".

but once the two of you are comfortable...if you can pass gas while sleeping, what's wrong with dogbreath in bed?

What if the dog decides to participate with a few friendly licks.

When I met my second(ex)wife had 2 cats and the slept with us. When we were divorced I got the cats but I don't let them sleep with me anymore. I did let them watch me and my girlfriend make love and they seemed kinda shocked by it,lol.

Its a clear indication of the Profile owner's priorities. YOU can come and go -- but dogs ALWAYS going to sleep in her bed.

Also indicates who is going to be in charge in that house. And where you will fall on their list. Pooches are ALWAYS going to come ahead of YOU, no matter how close you and owner become.

Fine choice of potential mate for animal lovers who would gladly put dog rights above their own.

BUT:

If I saw such a profile, or encountered such an attitude from potential date, I would cheerfully cede ALL my time with them to the dogs. Bet they'll have plenty more time ALONE with their dogs, too.

Yet another good reasons for each to have their own bedroom, or better still their own house.

Thanks Chicky.

My dog sleeps with me. When my bff s dog has a sleep over, I can not kick him off the bed (darn).

I remember a first date where he brought his dirty shih tzu. The little (dirty) monster demanded to sit on my knee............ew. No second date.

My dog gets bathed monthly or more if needed. Does yours?

yup,, as needed at home, and at the groomer every 6 weeks, cos the gal would be a fuzz ball, she cant share my bed as she will hog it.
so she sleeps on the couch w/ the weenie dog.
My cat shares bed w/ me. He is a cuddler.

My female cat is a cawk blocker.

She gets very jealous when Daddy tries to hug Mommy or give her a massage, so she has to sleep downstairs now w/ the boy cats.

Pets are animals. As much as we love them, they are inferior creatures and are not entitled to all the status of say, a three-year-old human offspring. I don't mind pets sleeping indoors, or even in the room - but if people treat them like their furry child, I'm not interested in staying for the night. Or ever.

I would rather sleep with someone and their pet than sleep with someone who has a toddler, who gets scared in the dark and decides to sleep in bed with their parent. That's more creepy imo, but seems to be quite common.

My cat used to like watching, that was weird. I'd lock her out of my bedroom but she got in once and started licking the guys foot.

My cats watched me and my girlfriend when I took her over my house, They were all like "WTF are you guys doing?" She has a dog and a cat .She has gates up to keep them away from us the but her cat knows how to pop the gate open and her dog just barks until we come out of her room.

My dog does not fart in bed.

How many men can make that claim?

From posts on this website, I would guess there are several men who can not make that claim.

(I have never been in a relationship with a man who farted around me. I guess no farting in front of gf is a dying art.)

The thread title sounds like a plot for a porno that involves a ménage á trois...

I totally get having pets and loving them. I really, really do. But these people who make them the center of the f*cking universe and their reason for living and breathing each day are lunatics of the highest order.

You know the type. The ones who are always proudly proclaiming "I like animals more than I do human beings!!"

Of course, they do. Because it's a being they can fully control and the animal is incapable of telling them what a socially inept, batshit loon they are.

Needless to say, no. No, I am not sleeping with dogs.

Sleeping is one thing, having them in bed or in the bedroom during sex is unacceptable and a deal breaker🐶

"I thought I would click on this thread and there would be forum posters pictures with choices available."

>>shoot, I think the male and female posters here have made their opinions known, over the decades, who's photos they think are really swell :)

"you know the type, they are proud they love animals more than humans who are animals"

>>>and more and more of them seem to be bringing their dogs into stores--at least around here. Apparently anyone can buy a blanket online that proclaims their ankle-biter is a service dog.

"I am not sleeping with dogs"

>>>yeah, i'm picky that way, too. as for dogs breaking wind, it's probably their all-meat diet. Unless one is sneaking them corn-based (ie all that natural sugar fermentation) meals. a friend of mine had a Dalmation that could smell like 101 of 'em. After petting it, i'd have to wash the oil of its fur off my fingers.

Not being a pets person seems a bit rare. They say things like they would without hesitation save their dog’s life over another human. I think this indicates something like misanthropy wrapped up in nice pkging.

Rabid pet lovers who also have a dim view of humanity...not sure if I approve that, as humanity is pretty messed up, but then again maybe a master servant symbiosis is all they can muster.

So, I’m not missing out on anything but a certain lunacy where the dog is their child and family. I mean yes, sure my pet I loved dearly but they weren't my child. Trying to turn a pet into a surrogate child, relative, relationship...maybe
a bit odd because what happens when you have a kid or date or mate? Is everybody about level?

I have seen “ if its between you and my dog... its my dog- he’s been with me longer”. Fine and dandy. Is anyone supposed to care how long you and your dog have been together. Maybe another dog person would be moved, and happy to play second fiddle.

I think it might be more selfishness - if that makes sense.
Their pet brings more to their lives and emotional well-being than some stranger so they'd prefer their own comfort (in the form of a dog, cat, goldfish, etc) rather than get uncomfortable with themselves.

If it's between (generic) you and my dog.... oh, wait. I don't have a pet.
