Going through a dry spell on POF. Thoughts?Page 1 of 1
Well, last year, I had no trouble finding women to talk to.

A year later, and now it's hard for me to find somebody to talk to. I've yet to have a sustained conversation.
I've sent messages, but no luck.

What might be your opinions on why I'm encountering a dry spell?

Could it be my approach? My pictures? What I have written on my profile?

Thoughts?

1) You've gone through all the women on POF within a year.
2) Women are using better sites to seek out men.
3) POF is getting better at getting rid of scam profiles.

POF's quality has gone downhill of late. RE: The bots.

It generally depends on the dating pool. If you live in a more populated area its easier because there are always so many potential matches. But smaller places you go through all the old members and your only option is to pick off the newbies. And newbies can come with their own issues such as being newly broken up.

Be glad of that.

The numbers in my area stack the odds against me. I have better chances finding free Honda Gold Wings. (No.6 is in the works)

This seems to be customary for OLD. The longer I see a profile on here (Forum-only people don't count), the less appealing that prospect appears to be. Also, when I did have active OLD profiles, I'd only keep them up for ~ 2 months at a time.

It could be all of the above. We cannot help with your approach without knowing how you are doing the approaching.

It's probably not your approach if you are still using the same approach. I would suggest adding new pictures or at least change the primary picture. I often got more emails after doing these things.

Going through a dry spell on POF. Thoughts?

Welcome to the club.
The meeting will begin in a few minutes.
Coffee and donuts are on the table in back.

What might be your opinions on why I'm encountering a dry spell?

A lack of cooperation from females of the opposite sex.

Could it be my approach? My pictures? What I have written on my profile?

Could be, or it could be that women are just not participating as fully in the online dating process as they used to.

Well, here's my approach. I check out their profiles, I point out something they are interested in, I comment on it, and then poof, nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Maybe I'll try to change my primary photo to one of me smiling, and I'll update you on the results.

3 years ago I met a few people through POF. Now I can't even establish a conversation. This is why I am looking to add another invisible woman to my chatting circle. Problem solved!

Having a dry spell on POF , get off the site for a few months. Come back and there should be some fresh faces. In the meantime go on a vacation, take up a new sport or something new even if not a sport. Better yourself in some way.

After you've been here a few months, anyone interested has
already seen your profile (if you login often enough to put
yourself on the 'active' list -- so that they even see your profile).

The number of new members joining in any given locale
is fairly small.

Sometimes people come back here after a period of inactivity.

* * *

As with men seeking women, two things may help:

* post frequent profile photo updates
* post frequent profile narrative changes

Keep everything strictly positive - no laundry lists. Not one
negative word in the profile ('drama' 'cheat' 'dishonest' and so on).

I didn't read your profile; I'm generic on this. ;)
