Occupations of Your Last 7 DatesPage 1 of 2    (1, 2)
What were the occupations (careers/jobs) of the last 7 people you went on a date with? What do you think it says about you? Do you have a pattern?

The last 7 people I went on a date with were a carpenter, an oilfield technologist, a teacher, a small engine technician, a garbage man, a firefighter and a furniture store salesperson.

Home healthcare provider.

After that, I have to reach back to my ex, who was my partner in my construction business.
Before that, a secretary, a house cleaner, a student, a factory worker.

Yeah, I got a pattern. It's called meeting stuffy women that show little interest in me.

Was that the answer you wanted?

That's actually a better question.

Some of us will admit to not going on dates. When I answered that question, I was reaching back 40 years. It says we're not exceptionally skilled at getting dates for ourselves. It's not for a lack of trying. We're capable of holding up our ends of conversations. Or, perhaps we're not good at picking willing people that would date us.

I've read in the past, that we should know who might be attracted to us. It's even written down somewhere in here, on the question and answer section on this website. Invariably, some dopes in here will tell us to date several people in order to figure that out for ourselves. Yeah, right. Tell me another funny story. I just love fiction. Got any more tidbits of wisdom to pass along to us? I'd just love to shake your hand, and leave you wishing that you'd kept your big mouth shut.

We handle it. We have to. Life has handed us the dirty end of the stick. If it sounds like we protest too much, just consider where we're at, and we keep our sanity in check by venting from time to time.

Not dated at all this year, or last year. In '17 I had two meets, and one follow up date. no idea what they did for a living.
'16- no dates.
'15 dated and was engaged. I ended it due to him being flirty w/ an ex on FB, and her on his page. He was retired.
'12-'14 no dates.
'11 a FWB arrangement of six months, and was good while it lasted, and ran its course, he was in Logistics
'10 no dates.
'08-09 a tow truck driver. released we were suited best as friends. And friends still.
'07 no dates.
'06 mid year, met a auto mech off match. he was to relocate back to NY. Dated about 3-4 months.

What were the occupations (careers/jobs) of the last 7 people you went on a date with?

- Topless Dancer
- Hooters Girl
- Full Nude Stripper
- Exotic Dancer
- Body Shop Employee
- High-Scale Escort
- Sex Toy Shop Employee

What do you think it says about you?

I think it says that I'm not into gals who are lawyers.

Do you have a pattern?

Hmmm, not really. They're all different jobs. I'm not Sherlock Holmes, my dear. ;)

The last 7 people I went on a date with were a carpenter, an oilfield technologist, a teacher, a small engine technician, a garbage man, a firefighter and a furniture store salesperson.

Whoah, that's weird! ;)

Most recent to less recent:

1) "Other" was her entry on POF. She collected disability checks and made additional money babysitting.

2) Can't remember exact details (POF entry says "Office"; we matched on Tinder where job info often doesn't exist), but our first meet's time and location was convenient for her job. Her work was certainly not high paying.

3) She did something with Myers-Briggs. Seemed well to do. Perhaps she inherited some $ and/or was raking in alimony?

4) Can't remember. She messaged me first on POF. Tried to find her via contact history but her profile isn't there. Whatever she did seemed to take up a lot of her time. Her job probably didn't require much physical activity or thought.

5) Two jobs, one at a laundromat, one at a hospital (sounded like a lot of the same work nurses do, but for a tiny fraction of the salary). She didn't have a car; walked to both jobs.

6) Office. Seems like a Christian organization, but she isn't a radical fundamentalist Bible thumper. Work location convenient, closer to me than her home.

7) Teacher, special ed. We met during her summer break. Then she went on a long vacation, then classes began. Not the first special ed teacher I've dated. My first POF dates were with a special ed teacher, and we cancelled a date after one of her "special" students injured her with his "super" strength.

Job/career isn't important to me as long as it isn't morally bankrupt. I believe I think better of people who don't make big bucks. One thing the above says about me is I'm open minded, given I'm not Christian, think Myers-Briggs is horse ca-ca, am not impressed by teachers, and believe most people on disability don't deserve it.

Interestingly, those women all worked lower-paying jobs. Was it intentional or just coincidential? I guess its nothing unusual because women tend to work at lower-paying jobs on average.

Side-Note: In Canada, teachers actually make good money with great benefits but from my knowledge, in the States, teachers don't make much or am I mistaken?
