Im not much of a soccer fan but when its World Cup time it brings back memories of my trip to Germany back in 1990. Remember who won it that year? Oh yeah Germany baby! Wow it was so awesome to be a 13 yr old kid out partying in the streets lol Of course i had other memories of Germany also haha

So I am hoping the host country will bring it home this year! A good start today

Netherlands is also in my background and they have a decent shot at it too :)

Go Germany and Holland :)

Im of Dutch background also and was happy to see the Netherlands off to a good start today!

What surprises me is with such a multicultural country we have here in Canada that we missed the World Cup this year!

Would love to be over there and watch the games live but it will get more exciting once we reach the final games of the World Cup!

Deutschland uber alles!...lol

GO TEAM GO!

Don't worry, Germany always plays weak in the beginning of tourney's...they are just toying with the other teams. Keep watching and see what happens Definitely a home team advantage also.

well I was hoping Togo would beat South Korea today but it didnt happen! Would be funny to see these small countries win for a change lol.

Way to go for Brazil tho but watch out Germany will be there to challenge them! Home team advantage is right!

Go Germany beat Poland tomorrow!!

OMG that was a heart-stopper! Germany over Poland, 1 - nil. Way to go Neuville!! They finally pulled it off at the end. The Polish goalie was starting to get on my nerves wasting time. Bye bye Poland...lol

wow yeah I thought it was going to be a scoreless tie there and Germany finished it off in dramatic fashion! I feel sorry for Poland though as they played well enough to win the game but will now be going home early!

As for Germany they will now move on to the next round!

Brazil, Portugal watch out the Germans are going to give you some good competition for the cup!

Its too bad there was a little violence before the game the skinheads got a little to excited I guess lol.

Go Germany baby!

To Cosmo K,

Thanks for your insight. And here I thought Portugal had 2 different flags!?!

We're proud of all our Portuguese brethren. Be they from Brazil, Angola, Timor, Mozambique, Macau, Goa, Etc...

deepfunkysoul: I agree the officiating so far hasnt all been fair and as we move closer to the final matche hopefully the calls will be correct. The whole world is watching this so the refs better be awake lol.

Unfortunately Hollads couldnt win against Argentina today but it was still a good scoreless game! Would of been nice to see Holland take first place in their group but I think if they continue to play as well as they have so far they will do great from here on in!!

Go Orange shirts!!

thought I'd bump this up for soccer fans tuning in for the world cup action!

As for Germany I am happy to see the host country make it to the Quarterfinals and i sure hope they will continue their awesome play in front of the home crowd! Argentina will be a tough test for them Friday but if Klosse and the rest of the team put the pressure on I am sure they can beat Argentina like they did when they won it all back in 1990!

The Holland/Portugal game today was the most bizarre soccer game ive ever seen! Sure kept the refs busy lol. With a lot at stake for both teams you could see the tension building up. Imo I feel Figo should be suspended for the head butt. England right now is laughing as they will have the advantage when they face Portugal for sure! It's too bad the game had to resort to that type of play but it sure made things interesting! lol.

Maybe Holland should of worn Orange today and they would have won! lol

oh well I am looking forward to Friday and hope Germany will move on to the Semis! Go Germany Go!!

"Well seeing how Germany was to Blow the Polish team away, and they are the Superior team of the tourney.... i don't know but if i were a German Fan i would be worried about far Germany can really go if it took so long to score against Poland…"

Saintk

Dont know if you remeber....but shortly after 2002 WC Korea played Brazil... and it was a tie, 1-1. So... what was your point again ??

Holly Grail: Here! Here! Exactly! We are proud of the whole family!

Cosmo: Hard to people to understand that don't know the history or their home land did not have the influence or bond that Portugal has had with these countries. They are like our off-spring in a way.

I hope Italy bites the dust.

Well... with the amount of time they are on the ground... I think they already have enough dust for everyone to bite on
