a lot of women will lie about their age & weight because they are unhappy with it.
if they were comfortable with it, they would embrace it and share it.

it's a dating site people, someone is bound to like you for who you are so turn the BS switch off!

Lying about your age with 20 year old pics is wrong, lying with current pics is different

It does affect the search engine in these sites

I would rather someone lied about their age than their marital status

or that their body type is average and then in the pic they have 3 chins

or that they are searching for long term and really looking just to score

Yes you do have more favourites than I do. I guess you are a lifer on this site, and I sadly am not.....

We can tell by your farewell thread. Some people just can't leave gracefully.

I have never had a woman lie to me about her age. But, then again....I don't hang out with
insecure, arrogant idiots. Maybe you should try the same. My chic friends here range from 19 to well into their 50's. My romantic interest is 14 years my junior. And yet she is much more mature than you at 32. Go figure, huh?

You typically can tell within a couple of years how old someone looks (at least I can)

..Please educate Us.......How Do You do this.....??????how is it typical..please give some examples...thanks....

I take their bra size...multiply it by the age of their oldest child...divide by Pi....add the number off loose chiclets in their purse....then look at their license.

I hadnt really noticed on here that much to be honest, but in guys do it too! . I have had men message me in the past on another site who are so obviously 50+, complete with white hair...saying they are 38....seems to be relative to the person they are trying to attract..??

However, there are some people as you say who have had hard lives. Stress and the sun are huge age factors. A person of 30 who has baked her/himself in the sun all her life IS going to be more wrinkled and sun damaged than someone who has covered herself up and hence look older

Dont be to quick to label everyone, though granted some as I said are pretty obvious. Aging is also genetics. Some of them could be telling the truth....

Age is a lot about how we feel about our selfs. But when trying to start a new relationship we should also start with the truth about us. If we feel younger then we can also add that. The truth shall set us free..

I wish everyone would just forget the age thing and enjoy the one you are with if you care to be with them. As long as they are legal, what real difference does it make if you connect in all the other ways?????

It is hard for me to put my age up as 75 because I may just lose out on some I would like to get to know and limit the pool of fish in the pond....lmao

With a "real age" picture, eh?

Funny story, thanks for sharing. Although I have to say, even if I had stayed for the drink (you're an awfully nice person) the viagra comment entitled him to be put in his place a bit.

smiles. You probably could have downed 2 or 3 drinks in that 3 minutes, given the situation.

So...photo was black and white?

Was it on lead? (or whatever that really thick stuff is that really old photos are on)

just kidding.

Guys lie about their age too

Why do people do it? - to make them seem more desirable / same level as someone they are pursuing or interested in. Its as easy as that

It can go both ways. You might lie about yourself to be older to an older person you like because you think they otherwise wouldnt be interested if they viewed you as 'too young'. And on the other side of the coin, of course, youth is usually regarded as universally attractive [ whether or not that is true is debatable of course and another thread] but that is how some people think. So they make their age younger to appeal to a younger person or as on here, to a wider demographic.

Contrary to what many posters have said though, I wouldnt dump someone for lying about their age. [well up to a point anyway... : ) 15 years + might be a deal breaker but I would think they wouldnt be able to get away with that kind of lie in the first place] my last long term partner lied to be older to go out with me. After 3 months I found out he was actually 7 years younger than me, not 4. We went out for 4 years and would have become engaged if we didnt break up for other reasons that had nothing to do with age. If I have gotten to know someone, and I really interested in them and they are an otherwise good person, I wouldnt dump them later on Be flattered in a way, they only did because they wanted you to find them more attractive so they could be with you.

I am 19.I say that, and people still think I'm lying.Hell I'm tired of looking like a 15 year old, that's why I wear make up, but some people still don't believe it when I tell them I'm 19.Always been that way, I wish it changed.

If you look five or ten years younger than your chronological age (as I do when my weight's o.k.), well, looks and physiological age/good health ought to count for something, so it's only reasonable to trim a couple of years off your "Profile" age, when you want to be considered by the younger set as worthy of receiving your emails.

Of course, lying's a big no no, so whenever I trim a couple of years (never more) off my Profile on a site to 'assist' the search features, I mention it either in my Profile remarks (as I've done for POF), or make sure I come clean by the second message, so no one's out even a postage stamp by such a tiny fib.

Similarly, if someone's so burnt out by earlier excesses (or a former smoker) and have a physiological age that's ten or more years older than their chronological age, they really ought to add two or more years to their Profile age, in all fairness, imo. Either way, photos usually tell the tale well enough to viewers, when's there's a useful photo posted. If someone declines to show their driver's license or passport, that's a really big clue they're not who or the age, they say they are.

(ooh, I just learned you can edit your posts up to 15 minutes after posting -- that's good to know)

I met a lady on here once that said she was 60 and I knew it was a lie . I did a white page search and found her age to be 70. Next thing I know she changes her profile to 57 . Who do these people think they are kidding lmao. I do not mind dating older women anyway so its no big deal . Especially nowadays where age is easily found out online just by knowing last name and town you should be forthcoming . People will like you or not like you but to lie about age is unnecessary.

Why lie about your age? If someone doesn't like you because of it, simply move on.

Women are notorious for lying about their age. That said, I've met or dated many women in the age range of 49 to 55, and you get all kinds. Some looked in their mid to late 60s... others late 30s, some 40s.
I have found that people age differently .

Not into lying, as you will only begin a tangled web to weave. Be yourself always..... Unless you are a Star! (we know about them too) So Myth... You about 24 or 25?
