My resolutionis 5.1 Megapixels. I never make New Years resolutions. I think they are a waste. Why should you wait for the New Year to decide to make some change in your life or to do a task?

I don't do the resolution thing. If I want to make a change then I'll do it whenever.

Happy New Year 2015!!!

I don't usually make New Year's resolutions......but this year is different.

As a matter of fact, it has been many years since I even stayed up to welcome it in. But this year? As that shimmering sphere descended....an unexpected lightness of hope filled my heart. And I resolved in that instant....that this year..... I was going to simply just.....live. I will firmly plant both feet...... in both the extraordinary and the ordinarily moments to come. I will not just see the beauty like an observer.... but will allow myself to experience it with all my senses. Fear of failing, falling and hurt will have no place in these future momemts........

So today.....I will be singing and dancing to......"I lived" by One Republic......hope you join me!

And.....yeah....if anyone happens to see a video of me doing this while taking down the Xmas tree....let me know right away so I can take my little heathens' cell phones away....again! :)

Ha! I'm sooooo glad my son was past that age by the time every phone had a video cam with insta-upload to Facebook.

OTOH - my son turned 21 yrs old a couple days ago but I didn't get to see him that day; he was too busy with his girlfriend. Hell hath no fury like a mother scorned - I posted a photo retrospective of his life on FB.

Happy week after the Solstice y'all.

I've heard that resolutions last about 6 weeks. That's around my birthday and Valentine's Day when people fall off the wagon.

I don't make them anymore. Changes that I want to make can come at any time I decide to do it.

Here's to a great 2015.

@calguy...
The Eagle is a symbol of courage and connection with the Great Spirit....A powerful symbol...Lucky you!
I also don't believe in New Year's resolutions...I change things when the time is right and have worked on forming and working towards my goals...in order to attain them.

Happy 2015 all!!!!

I generally don't make New Year's resolutions ... if you're going to change something or endeavor to do something new, why not start tomorrow?

Big believer that humans like ceremonies, and marking things to celebrate. I usually use my birthday to do a summing up for the year, and that may add a little extra energy to decisions I might make about change. But my two big ceremonial days for this time of year are Solstice and 12th Night.

I don't make them, I've grown to like my issues, after all these years.

^ Haha! :)

For those that enjoy psychobabble: I rememember this theory (Karen Horney) that the closer our ideal self is to our real self, the more... well, better off we are, in a nutshell (psychologically speaking).

Dayna, you rock. And the dimples don't hurt, either ;)

it is always good to have a start date.

Some of these comments remind me of a friend that I had in college. She always had some remark about how various people could improve.
When you told her how she could improve, she would say,

""That is just the way that I am." LOL!

My new year's resolution is to stop having resolutions that are not in place by the time July 4 comes around.
