Yes but the big question is, what is the "dipping sauce" that you would have with them

toe jam.

truth! ribs are the greatest. Shishkabob, chicken wings and corndogs are ok...but none really can compare to the grandeur that is ribs.... mmmmmm I had some last night....but want some beef ribs this week

Congee (and this will probably gross some people out - especially with century egg and pork slices). Chinese rice porridge/soup, which can be ordered with a variety or meat or veggies in it. It's great on a cold day or when I am sick. You can get it at Chinese wun-tun houses. I get it delivered from Hon's when I'm sick, along with other things.

A good beef stew or beef goulash soup is also very comforting, with a chunk of bread. I tend to make this at least a couple of times during the winter.

Mac and cheese (not from a box).

The beef dip at White Spot (reliable and tasty).

A nice pot of Earl Grey or mint tea (for unsettled stomach)

cinnamon bun

hot fudge sundae with nuts (any Next Generation fans out there) or hot fudge brownie dessert. The sundae at McDonald's will do.

Nanaimo Bars - I believe they really are a BC food. They're a little rich, but truthfully I don't know of any other foods that originated in BC. This is not surprising since this province is only 150 years old and one day.

It pays off to do a search before beginning a thread. Perhaps, the poster of the newest comfort food thread could not find this on because of the BC at the beginning.

Hey this puts me in mind of Lund Hotel qua-haug buger!
I haven't had one since 1980 though. Fairly recently the Bald Eagle mentioned that the Lund Hotel balcony was one fav seduction spots. Possibly the Eagle would know.
Qua-haug is a big clam, the hotel ground-up these clams, and made great burgers.

Point Grey/UBC - Fried Coyote Tails
Kits - steamed raccoon tails
Granville Island - fried rat
West End - steamed skunk
Commercial Drive - mouse stew with pasta
Strathcona - steamed rice and all the animals above chopped
Kerrisdale/Shaugnessy - Smoked Squirrel
South Vancouver - all the above animals chopped in spicy samosas

Okay, I know that I have not exhausted the list. Please to add it. My favorite is fried rat. They say that they trap them near the piers so they taste salty.

B.C.Ferry food used to be they have "no MSG in anything they serve", they I'm all about that:
triple O burger(deluxe) with the YUMMY YAM FRIES
topped off with a coffee(it isn't that bad!)
to wash down the triple decker chocolate cake confection(ahhh...poor arteries!)
with a teensy bit of raspberry or strawberry preserve to dip the cake into!!!
ahhh...gotta love that treadmill after the last trip!!!
