Right now, its 96.9 around the corner from my house in stoney creek. Get there to Petro Canada if you can! It's not packed yet!

Here's a sad fact:

I tallied up my gas receipts, 1 full month's worth. They totalled up more than what i'm paying monthly on a brand new car. Gas costs more than a new car!! Now THATS pathetic!

Instead of just a GST rebate, they should consider a GAS rebate for people that drive as well!!

I find it cheaper to fill up in Oshawa than in Toronto, and I have all the points cards, so when I get enough points to get a $50. gift card I keep that for high gas prices just in case, free gas almost. My vent about free gas, get a credit card or buy a new vehicle gets you discounts on gas, why, so the rest of us can pay the difference.

anything in the world is worth whatever somebody is willing to pay for it. yes, i think gas prices are high, i wish they were lower, but im not gonna complain. nobody has a gun to my head forcing me to buy it. if everybody stopped buying gas (i know, thats not too possible right now) then the prices would come down.

oh and something to think about. those little water bottles... i think they're like 99 cents for half a litre. quite a bit more expensive than gas.

I live in Arthur (highway #9 & #6 ) and at 11:30am today I went to fill up and just as I was taking the gas cap off the attendent said for me to hurry coz the price is going up any second. The price of gas when I started was 99.8c and as I was pumping the gas it went up to $1.08.9, yes I paid only 99.8c (sad when you "only" to 99.8c) and thats the first time i've ever been at a pump where the price went up at the same time. As for what others heard I was also told the same by the attendent that wait till this summer when its going to cost $1.50 per litre.

How fast do horses go?
Please people, don't pick on the person working at the gas station. It's not their fault the price of gas is so outrageous. I know we like to vent. but be nice about it to these people.

well I drive a hybrid but the price of gas is crazy. I think the Canadian and U.S. Government really need to start pushing on the alternative fuel to cut back on our need for gas. Not only is this good for your pocket, it's good for the environment and will hurt those middle eastern countries that some of use hate so much. We all have to remember that 30% of the price of your gas goes to tax so if we all change to a cheaper alternative fuel the government will just nail you in taxes on something else.

Response to heavenswhisper's message in this thread......

I won't defend gas pricing or industry gouging because we all know they do it.

What I will point out is that the price of gasoline isn't in direct proportion to the price of oil. Regardless of the price of oil it takes a set amount of money to produce a litre of gasoline. When oil prices shoot up, or down for that matter, labour and production costs don't follow suit.

It's kinda like gas for home heating. The actual cost of the commodity changes all the time which only affects the gas bill for that item. The cost of getting the gas to the house etc etc is still the same. Even when I look at my electric bill, I pay way more than the going rate for KWHrs. There are a lot of "set" costs too.

Sometimes if I have to go inside to pay for filling up my car, I tell the guy "no no, I'm not buying the station, I just filled up!!".

^^Hey you up there? Seen the muppets of late?
OT: I can't believe in light of supposed Hurrican Ike "damage" to Texis refineries, they upped the price of gas! I thought that you were supposed to have a wait and see attitude before you started to gouge the public. It got to 139.8 here last week. And Mystery, as you say, it is now beginning to decline as it is obvious the Hurrican no longer poses a thread.
