heres ya one for strength... :)

Artist/Band: Messina Jo Dee
Lyrics for Song: My Give a Damn Is Busted
Lyrics for Album: Delicious Surprise
Well, you filled up my head with so many lies.
You twisted my heart till somethin' snapped inside.
I'd like to give it one more try,
But my give-a-damn's busted.

You can crawl back home, say you were wrong;
Stand out in the yard and cry all night long.
Well, go ahead and water the lawn:
My give-a-damn's busted.

I really wanna care.
I wanna feel somethin'.
Let me dig a little deeper:.
No, sorry: nothin'.

You can say you've got issues, you can say you're a victim.
It's all your parents fault, after all you didn't pick 'em.
Maybe somebody else has got time to listen:
My give-a-damn's busted.

Well, your therapist says it was all a mistake:
A product of the Prozac and your co-dependent ways.
So who's your enabler these days?
My give-a-damn's busted.

I really wanna care.
I wanna feel somethin'.
Let me dig a little deeper:.
No, still nothin'.

It's a desperate situation, no tellin' what you'll do.
If I don't forgive you, you say your life is through.
C'mon, gimme somethin' I can use:
My give-a-damn's busted.

Well, I really wanna care.
I wanna feel somethin'.
Let me dig a little deeper:
No, I'm sorry.
Just nothin', you know.
You've really done it this time, ha, ha.
My give-a-damn's busted.

I can offer only two suggestions.

These have helped me through the worst of times after breaking up.

1st - "Lessons In Love" by Level 42, Album - 1984

2nd - "Slow Emotion Replay" by The The, Album - Dusk

These are really good songs with better messages than most main stream songs you've got listed.

Hope everything goes well

How Do You Like Me Now? by Toby Keith isn't about missing someone. It is about a guy who had a thing for a girl as they were growing up and the girl wouldn't give him the time of day. She ends up marrying and living a fairly dull and crappy life while he goes on to become a huge recording star.

The theme is...you wouldn't give me the time of day then, so how do you like me now? Look at your life and look at mine. You coulda had this.

Unless I misread your post and you were referring to the second song as being about missing someone. If that is the case then this whole post was pointless!!

hey there!

Well, one thing is for sure, I have the best songs for mourning a broken heart, i played them continuously for about a year.

-Keith Urban "You'll think of me"
-Kelly Clarkson "Because of You"
-Three Days Grace "Gone Forever"
-Evanescence "My Immortal"
-Avril Lavingne "Why"
-3 Doors Down "Here By Me"

But by far the song I listened to almost non-stop is by Evanescence and is called Missing

Please, please forgive me
But I won't be home again
Maybe someday you'll look up
And barely conscious, you'll say to no one
Isn't something missing

You won't cry for my absence I know
You forgot me long ago
Am I that unimportant
Am I so insignificant
Isn't something missing
Isn't someone missing me

Even though I'm the sacrifice
You won't try for me, not now
Though I'd die to know you love me
I'm all alone
Isn't someone missing me

Please, please forgive me
But I won't be home again
I know what you do to yourself
I breathe deep and cry out
Isn't something missing

Even though I'm the sacrifice
You won't try for me, not now
Though I'd die to know you love me
I'm all alone
Isn't someone missing me

Yeah, its a sad one, but man is it a good one. Anyways, have fun with this, turrah!!

I've got a few Cd's called "music guaranteed to depress even happy clowns volume 1-5.

If you want to get depressed and turbo drink some Jack...

1. Arms of the Angels by Sarah Mclachlan..

"Spend all your time waiting for that second chance
For the break that will make it ok
There's always some reason to feel not good enough
And it's hard at the end of the day
I need some distraction oh beautiful release
Memories seep from my veins
They may be empty and weightless and maybe
I'll find some peace tonight "

2. Blind Love by Bob Seger...

"Now you're gone
And it's hotels and whiskey and sad luck days
And I don't care if they miss me
I never remember their names

They say if you get far enough away
You'll be on your way back home
Well I'm at the station
And I can't get on the train...

Well the street's turning blue
The dogs are barking and the night has come
And it's tears that are falling
From these brown eyes now
And I wonder where you are
And I whisper your name
(I whisper your name)
And the only way to find you
Is if I close my eyes"

3. Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley (The best version I've ever heard of this song bar none, with my apologies to Mr. Cohen)...

"And maybe there's a god above
But all i've ever learned from love
Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew ya
Well it's not a cry that you hear at night
It's not somebody who's seen the light
It's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah"

4. Night to Remember by Joe Diffie...

"Dim the lights, lock the door, spread your pictures
On the floor, throw the dust off of our past let it
All come floodin' back, cause' it ain't easy being
Strong and when I can't forget your gone I just
Surrender, and have myself a night to remember."

5. We Had It All by Dobie Gray...

"I can hear the wind a blowing in my mind
just the way it used to sound
With a Georgia pine
You were there to answer when I called
You and me, Lord knows we had it all
Remember how I used to touch your hair
While reaching for the feeling, that was always there
It was the best thing in my life I can recall
You and me we had it all
I know that we can never relive those times again
So I let these dreams take me back to where we've been
And I'll stay there with you just as long as I can
Oh it was so good, yes it was so good
Oh it was so good when I was your man
Oh I'll never stop believing in your smile
Even though you didn't stay, it was all worthwhile
You're the best thing in my life I can recall
You and me, Lord knows we had it all
I can hear the wind a blowing in my mind
You and me, Lord knows we had it all."

6. Neither One Of Us by Gladys Knight...

"It's sad to think we're not gonna be here
And it's gotten to the point
Where we just can't fake it
For some ungodly reason
We just won't let it be

I guess neither one of us
Neither one of us wants to be the first to say good-bye

I keep wondering
Wondering
What I'm gonna do without you
And I guess you must be wondering the same thing too
So we go on
Go on together
Living a lie

Because I guess neither one of us
Neither one of us wants to be the first to say good-bye

Everytime I find the nerve
Everytime I find the nerve to say I'm leaving
Those old memories
get in my way

Lord knows it's only me
Heaven knows it's only me
That I'm decieving

When it comes to saying good-bye
That's a simple word that I just cannot say

There can be no way
There can be no way
This can have a happy ending
No, no
So we just go on
Hurting and pretending
Convincing ourselves to give it just one more try

Because I guess neither one of us
Neither one of us wants to be the first to say
Neither one of us wants to be the first to say
Neither one of us wants to be the first to say
Farewell my love
Goodbye "

7. For The Good Times by Ray Price...

"Don't look so sad, I know it's over
But life goes on and this old world will keep on turning
Let's just be glad we had some time to spend together
There's no need to watch the bridges that we're burning

Lay your head upon my pillow
Hold your warm and tender body close to mine
Hear the whisper of the rain drops flowing soft against the window
And make believe you love me one more time
For the good times

I'll get along, you'll find another
And I'll be here if you should find you ever need me
Don't say a word about tomorrow or forever
There'll be time enough for sadness when you leave me

Lay your head upon my pillow
Hold your warm and tender body close to mine
Hear the whisper of the rain drops flowing soft against the window
And make believe you love me one more time
For the good times"

8. The Sweetest Thing by Juice Newton...

"When I see you in the morning
With that old sleep still in your eyes
I remember all the laughter
And the tears we shared last night
And as we lie here
Just two shadows
In the light before the dawn
The sweetest thing I've ever known is lovin' you

And I have never been afraid of losin' out
And I have never wanted love to be a chain
I only know that when I'm with you
You're my sunshine, you're my rain
The sweetest thing I've ever known is lovin' you

Now you and I
We're not children
We have both been loved before
We have given and we have taken
Many rides on troubled shores
But all the heartaches and temptations
Only made me love you more
The sweetest thing I've ever known is lovin' you

And I have never been afraid of losin' out
And I have never wanted love to be a chain
I only know that when I'm with you
You're my sunshine, you're my rain
The sweetest thing I've ever known is lovin' you

The sweetest thing I've ever known is lovin' you"

Is everyone depressed yet?

Maybe we should move on to that other music montage I have...Its called "Music For Dancing B4 Pantsin'"

For CD #1 I guess you could go Josh Groban a song called Remember it helped me when I was mourning
Remember
I will still be here
As long as you hold me
In your memory

Remember
When your dreams have ended
Time can be transcended
Just remember me

I am the one star that keeps burning so brightly
It is the last light to fade into the rising sun
I'm with you whenever you tell my story
For I am all I've done

Remember
I will still be here
As long as you hold me
In your memory, remember me

I am that warm voice in the cold wind that whispers
And if you listen you'll hear me call across the sky
As long as I still can reach out and touch you
Then I will never die

Remember
I'll never leave you
If you will only
Remember me

Remember
I will still be here
As long as you hold me
In your memory

Remember
When your dreams have ended
Time can be transcended
I live forever
Remember me…

And Coldplay's song Fix You.
Chris Martin the lead singer wrote it for Gwenth Paltro (sp) his wife when her father passed away.
And I love the idea of having Gn'R Used To Love Her for CD 2 lol

A few more songs to have a Smith&Wesson****ail by...

1. And So It Goes, By Billy Joel...

"In every heart there is a room
A sanctuary safe and strong
To heal the wounds from lovers past
Until a new one comes along
I spoke to you in cautious tones
You answered me with no pretense
And still I feel I said too much
My silence is my self defense
And every time I’ve held a rose
It seems I only felt the thorns
And so it goes, and so it goes
And so will you soon I suppose
But if my silence made you leave
Then that would be my worst mistake
So I will share this room with you
And you can have this heart to break
And this is why my eyes are closed
It’s just as well for all I’ve seen
And so it goes, and so it goes
And you’re the only one who knows
So I would choose to be with you
That’s if the choice were mine to make
But you can make decisions too
And you can have this heart to break
And so it goes, and so it goes
And you’re the only one who knows"

2. Like A Rock By Bob Seger

"Stood there boldly
Sweatin' in the sun.
Felt like a million,
Felt like number one.
The height of summer,
I'd never felt that strong,
Like a rock.
I was eighteen,
Didn't have a care,
Working for peanuts,
Not a dime to spare.
But I was lean and
Solid everywhere
Like a rock.
My hands were steady.
My eyes were clear and bright.
My walk had purpose.
My steps were quick and light.
And I held firmly
To what I felt was right
Like a rock.
Like a rock, I was strong as I could be.
Like a rock, nothin' ever got to me.
Like a rock, I was something to see.
Like a rock.
And I stood arrow straight,
Unencumbered by the weight
Of all these hustlers and their schemes.
I stood proud, I stood tall,
High above it all.
I still believed in my dreams.
Twenty years now.
Where'd they go?
Twenty years,
I don't know.
I sit and I wonder sometimes
Where they've gone.
And sometimes late at night
When I'm bathed in the firelight,
The moon comes callin' a ghostly white,
And I recall,
I recall.
Like a rock, standin' arrow straight.
Like a rock, chargin' from the gate.
Like a rock, carryin' the weight.
Like a rock.
Oh, like a rock, the sun upon my skin.
Like a rock, hard against the wind.
Like a rock, I see myself again.
Like a rock.
Oh, like a rock.
Oh...."

3. Hard To Say Goodbye by Boyz II Men

"How do I say goodbye to what we had?
The good times that made us laugh
Outweigh the bad.

I thought we'd get to see forever
But forever's gone away
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.

I don't know where this road
Is going to lead
All I know is where we've been
And what we've been through.

If we get to see tomorrow
I hope it's worth all the wait
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.

And I'll take with me the memories
To be my sunshine after the rain
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.

And I'll take with me the memories
To be my sunshine after the rain
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterdayHow do I say goodbye to what we had?
The good times that made us laugh
Outweigh the bad.

I thought we'd get to see forever
But forever's gone away
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.

I don't know where this road
Is going to lead
All I know is where we've been
And what we've been through.

If we get to see tomorrow
I hope it's worth all the wait
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.

And I'll take with me the memories
To be my sunshine after the rain
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.

And I'll take with me the memories
To be my sunshine after the rain
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday".

4. Forever by Mariah Kurazee Carey

"Those days of love are gone
Our time is through
Still I burn on and on
All of my life
Only for you

From now
Until forever
And ever, my darling
Forever
You will always be the only one
You will always be the only one

As long as I shall live
I'll hold you dear
And I will reminisce
Of our love all through the years

From now
Until forever
And ever, my darling
Forever
You will always be the only one
You will always be the only one

If you should ever need me
Unfailingly, I will return to your arms
And unburden your heart
And if you should remember
That we belong together
Never be ashamed
Call my name
Tell me I'm the one you treasure

Forever
And ever, my darling
Forever
You will always be the only one yes
You will always be the only one oh baby
You will always be the only one ".

5. This one, everytime I hear it I think of the episode of Quantm Leap where 'Al' gets put in Sam's place and the leap is to a time in Al's life before he lost the love of his life and he refused to do the next leap but knew there was nothing he could do to stop it and he was slow dancing with his wife when the "leap" happened...Someday We'll Be Together by Diana Ross and The Supremes...

"Someday we'll be together
Say, say, say it again
Someday we'll be together
Oh, yeah, oh yeah

You're far away
From me my love
And just as sure my, my baby
As there are stars above
I wanna say, i wanna say, i wanna say

Someday we'll be together
Yes we will, yes we will
Say, someday (some sweet day) we'll be together
I know, i know, i know, i know

My love is yours, baby
Oh, right from the stars
You, you, you posses my soul now honey
And i know, i know you own my heart
And i wanna say:

Someday we'll be together
Some sweet day we'll be together
Yes we will, yes we will
Someday (tell everybody) we'll be together
Yes we will, yes we will

Long time ago
My, my sweet thing
I made a big mistake, honey
I said, i said goodbye
Oh, oh baby
Ever, ever, ever since that day
Now, now all i wanna do is cry, cry

Hey, hey, hey
I long for you every night
Just to kiss your sweet, sweet lips
Hold you ever, ever so tight
And i wanna say

Someday we'll be together
Yes we will, yes we will"
