Quadraphenia (music by the amazing Peter Townshend) - the entire soundtrack does it for me - but the 3 songs that get to me the most are CAN YOU SEE THE REAL ME,
LOVE RAIN O'ER ME, and my absolute favorite is I AM ONE.

every year is the same and i feel it again
i'm a loser, no chance to win
ill fitting clothes and i blend in the crowd
fingers too clumsy, voice too loud
But I'm ONE
I am One
And I will be
You'll all see
I'm the ONE
I am One.....

Yesssssss!! I spent my entire freshman year in college listening to the Quad album forwards and backwards. It was my musical Bible. I will never forget seeing it performed in its entirety live back in 1996, with The Who, Gary Glitter and Billy Idol.

Kudos to the genius who also mentioned the "Highlander" soundtrack. Queen is one of my top three favorite performers (After Bowie and The Who!).

Moving on....
My picks have to be ...

1.)"Love Song for a Vampire" by Annie Lennox, from the "Bram Stoker's Dracula" soundtrack. Beautiful, haunting song.(although I could've done without the film--at least, I could've done without Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves in the film. But I had a mammoth crush on Gary Oldman for years...)
2.) "Underground," by David Bowie, from The "Labyrinth" soundtrack--one of my favorite films of all time. Also my first introduction to David Bowie, the man who would eventually become my rock god. "It's only forever, not long at all...."
3.) The "Dark Crystal" soundtrack--it literally took me 15 years to find this one on CD--I had to special order it through an international company, but it was worth the wait. Beautiful score.
4.) "Star Wars" soundtrack--It's Star Wars. Need I say more? That movie wouldn't be half as good without the music.
5.) "Velvet Goldmine" soundtrack--introduced me to Brian Eno, T-Rex, The Stooges and Lou Reed. The film's a little odd, but the music is KILLER.
6.)"The Crow" soundtrack--I'm actually referring to the music tracks, not the musical score (although that's pretty decent, too). I'm not big on heavy industrial bands (Nine Inch Nails, etc.), but this is a great album. Very dark.
7.) "The Muppet Movie" soundtrack--How can you not love "Rainbow Connection?"
8.) The "Dune" soundtrack--Don't ask. I know this film's cheesy, but I love the song they play over the closing credits.
9.) "Always look on the Bright Side of Life", from "Monty Python's Life of Brian"; I know most people are "Holy Grail" fans, but I always thought "Life of Brian" was the better film. Plus this song is great.
10.) "Flash Gordon" soundtrack--also by Queen and also a great song on it (title track).
11.) "City of Angels" soundtrack--HATED the film, LOVED the music. Good mix of modern stuff and classic blues/rock. Too bad the film didn't deserve the music.

That's all I can think of right now.

Angels - Robbie Williams ( Love that song)

She's Like The Wind - Patrick Swayze (Ghost)

The sound track to Say Anything......particularly Nancy Wilson's WE GAVE IT ALL FOR LOVE.

Also, Queen's WHO WANTS TO LIVE FOREVER is an awesome song.

This isn't from a movie BUT, to me the lyrics hold a lot of truth and gives great insight for some of you men who wonder where some of us women are coming from and women can any of you relate to these lyrics? I know I can.

BLESSED ARE THE BELIEVERS:

Cold coffee cup, sun coming up
sleep is a distant dream
something you said rolls 'round in my head
something that you didn't mean.

Blessed are the believers
They shall inherit a heartache
Believing in you Babe
That was my greatest heartbreak
Blessed are all the left-behind
For their hearts shall one day mend
When loving those same sweet lies
Make us believers again.

Arthurs theme both done by Christopher Cross and the other by London Phiharmonic Orchestra

Rocky theme and different songs that appeared in the series.

Requiem for a dream or Lux Aeterna. Probably the most epic music done in recent years. I could listen to this everyday.

Close encounters of the Third Kind.

The soundtrack to the movie Creator. The movie was seen by very few and the soundtrack was never released but if you have seen the movie you will know what I am talking about. You can find it on youtube look for part 11 and listen to it at the end. Here is a good portion of it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwVF3pzksOE&feature=relate

Singles - because it was filmed right up the street from my college pad
Twin Peaks - same reason, further commute
Thelma and Louise - Like the soundtrack better than the movie
Wild at Heart - Wicked Game - say no more
9 1/2 weeks - slave to love
and of course Top Gun - Berlin - Take my Breath away

that is as sappy as I get.

"These small hours" from the movie Meet the Robinsons.
Love Rob Thomas!

let it go,
let it roll right off your shoulder
don’t you know
the hardest part is over
let it in,
let your clarity define you
in the end
we will only just remember how it feels

our lives are made
in these small hours
these little wonders,
these twists & turns of fate
time falls away,
but these small hours,
these small hours still remain

let it slide,
let your troubles fall behind you
let it shine
until you feel it all around you
and i don’t mind
if it’s me you need to turn to
we’ll get by,
it’s the heart that really matters in the end

Killer Klowns, by the D1ckes, from the soundtrack of the movie with the same name. This movie was nominated for seven Academy Awards. It won best picture in 1981. This movie changed my whole life. It marked me. This movie was the catalyst for the fall of the Berlin wall. This movie: the world will never be the same. Clowns are evil anyway. Everybody knows it.

Seriously, the opening scene and credits of Raging Bull. He's in the ring alone, moving, keeping warm, I don't know the piece of music.

I was curious, bodypro, so I googled it and it's the intermezzo from Pietro Mascagani's Cavalleria Rusticana. I just listened to it on a site that names the "twelve greatest opening credits in movie history". Beautiful piece of music, all strings, even a harp.

Haunting.

"The Sensual World", Kate Bush from "Felicia's Journey" soundtrack.

A sense of everything.

I Don't Know How to Love Him (Jesus Christ Superstar) I like Sarah Brightman's version

Everything I Do, I Do it for You (Robin Hood) Bryan Adams

Streets of Philadelphia (Philadelphia) Bruce Springsteen

Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman (Don Juan De Marco) Bryan Adams

Phantom of the Opera, Sarah Brightman again

And for soundtracks, The Mission. One of the greatest movie soundtracks of all time. Just sensational. Never fails to stir me. If you haven't heard this, you've got to. Listen especially to track 3, Gabriel's Oboe. The theme, too.
