ok here goes. now this is truly pathetic admittedly lol but the sky has gone dark and theres that odd breeze you get before a storm and i know there is one forcast.
my problem? im petrified of thunder storms and lightening!
ok so being a mother of 4, im supposed to stay all calm and contained but when you have such an irrational fear its easier said than done. so any tips for keeping my cool is greatly appreciated

Try putting some calming music on through headphones if possible then you wont hear the thunder and hopefully the music will calm you and before you know it the storm will have passed

Try hiding under the duvet. It works for me and my cat.

I'm afraid of heights, I still fly high despite the terror - irrational fear is just that, irrational... enjoy the feeling !

but....thunder and lightning storms are invigorating, exciting and life enforcing - the energy is just incredible and clears the atmosphere, makes you feel alive except obviously when you've been struck by lightning - I hear that hurts

The deep loud rumble of thunder is thrilling. You should witness the electrical storms they have in Florida - total wow factor - you can even hear the lightning sizzle.

Im not frightened of thunder but lightening can kill you if you get struck by it so I'm scared of that. My dog is petrified of it. He shakes.

My ex husband was afraid of it too OP and only overcame it by standing on the back doorstep with me until he realised that the booming overhead couldn't hurt him. Listening to music on the headphones until the worst of it passes, is a great suggestion. Try sitting close to a window and watching the lightening flashing while you listen to your fave tune. It's so pretty to watch!

I love it.... There's nothing better than a violent storm.
Really makes me feel how insignificant we are, and all the silly things we worry about in bigger picture of things.
I've always wanted to make love outside during a thunder storm!

dont use head phones or telephones if the house gets hit the lightning will kill you as it travels through the wires play music but dont attach yourself to any thing and dont have a bath either as lightning also can travel through the plumming
