I need a GREAT Tuna Macaroni Salad recipe? Any GREAT ones out there?Page 1 of 3    (1, 2, 3)
Hi; I have a great Tuna Macaroni Salad I have made for years but looking for something different.Mine is the usual tuna, elbow macaroni, mayo, chopped celery and chopped sweet pickles. It just seems to be lacking something!! What can you suggest? How about spices, what do you use? Thanks for reading my thread and hopefully answering me.:o)

Hello 'yellowbutterfy' or it it 'yellowbutterfly'? Scooby-doo noodles you say! I almost bought them today, I was shopping for pasta and saw them, they looked interesting.I will give the herbs a try and see what comes of it. My kids love my pasta but find it is lacking something and I just wanted to jazz it up. Thanks muchly.

Hello 'always annie', thank you for the tip.I will give it a try and get back to you.I agree about the blandness comment, I think more salt would help too.

Hello Dan; well, well, well, .... deep subject right?

I tried the crushed red pepper and the celery seed/salt and it was superb. It was so good that the salad was finished up at one seating, that never happens!! I always have leftovers for lunch the following day. I need to get busy and make more, to fulfill my lunch obligations.
I have a favour to ask? May I have your recipe for the way you prepare your porterhouse steak? I looked at your profile and just the mention of it made me curious to want to sample it. Hope you don't mind the gall of me to ask.
Thanks for submitting suggestions to my GREAT macaroni salad query and take care,
Nancy

Hi 'dinolupino'...

Thanks for the hint,I will give it a go. I love capers! How's life across the pond?
I am coming that way in the Fall, for two weeks, hope the weather is good at that time of year. Going to London to do the touristy things, you must tell me how the autumn weather is there...????
Good eating,

My variation is the elbow macaroni cooked and then add tuna, melted cheeze whiz, a can of cream of mushroom soup and when it cools, add chopped eggs, celery, onion and mayo and let sit in refrigerator for an hour or two.

Hi Annie, I have a great recipie that my uncle has made for years, i make it whenever i can because it seems everyone likes it. Are you in Canada or the USA, we call it My Uncle Carl's American Macaroni Salad. If you're in the USA you might be able to buy Mullers thin macaroni (which is what he uses) I'm canadian so i use store brand macaroni.
2 boxes store brand macaroni (set aside cheese for the day you have brocoli)
1 can solid white tuna (drain very well)
1 samll can baby peas (drain very well)
2 green onions (chopped small)
3 brown (or white) eggs - boiled & shelled
pepper/parsley 1/8 teaspoon each
COOK and drain well the macaroni, crumble in by hand the tuna, add the onion and peas and two of the eggs that have been chopped.
blend in enough mayo (i use helmans) to moisten
slice third egg and place in top of salad
let set at least two hours before serving. I never have any trouble with this, it has become a favorite amongst my friemds and church pot luck goers. Enjoy! Baby Blue 3
