This year I want to go to the Banjo Bowl. I am a devout and hardcore Blue Bombers fan. Who wants to come?

Troy Westwood coined this term long ago. I love the term "Banjo-picking hillbillies" as it apparently applies to me now since I live in Saskatoon.

Lol, yeah that was funny when Westwood said that, and in good humour of course. The winnipeg/Sask rivalry has always been a healthy one with two teams that truly have a shared respect for each other.

Closest i've been to the Riders has been the Stones concert at Taylor field. Not a big one on crowds. Cool idea for a POF meet though.

I hate to say it crazy, but if I were to go to the Banjo Bowl, I don't think I'd wanna go along with a Bomber's fan.

and speaking of Westwood, he'll likely be out of a job by that time.

It will be like the Alamo, we will defend ourselves from the hordes at a beer stall. I have short term disability insurance.

So, is anyone still planning to head to Winnipeg this weekend to see this game?

I'm pretty sure that when you posted this thread, you didn't think both teams would be 1st in their divisions.

I saved up money to go to the game but I had to pay bills. Totally sucks, a friend had a ticket for me too.

Too bad about the latest 3 game losing skid. Especially that last one, what a heartbreaker. Hopefully they can kick some a$$ against Montreal today.

Gotta hand it to the Taylor Field faithful though. Just like the mail man, they seem to always be there. Hats off to them.

They won, they actually won. Lots of improvement needed in the second half of their games and that secondary is totally sucking at times.

^^^^^^^^^^Cliffythecat:

Let's make that Bombers 68

And counting upwards

depending on how MANY fumbles the Riders make

and Riders 3 (3 singles)

depending on how few single points Bombers will allow on Riders kickoff.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BIG BLUE GO bring that cup back on home to the Peg cuz there is going to be one GRAT BIG PARTY in the PEG when Bombers bring the cup home.

is your mind capable of actually adding to this thread?

if not, could ya at least avoid using our local forum threads to amuse yourself by spurting your outbursts of smilies all over???

I noticed one of our other Roughrider threads has already disappeared.

Do you think it could have been the poem that was posted there. Or Maybe the percentage of people on WPG home page thought Sask Was going to win the Grey Cup?

That is the third thread I posted to that has dissapeared. The other 2 were in the Alberta forum.

the last time I saw that thread, the last page of it seemed to be all smilies.
If I had to guess, I'd think that would likely be a possible reason.

I can't see a thread being deleted just beause of a poem. The poem was on-topic.

RIDERS WON THE CUP. HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
THE BOMBERS BOMBED!
SO, WHAT HAVE YOU PEGGERS HAVE TO SAY NOW?

But, I will give credit to the bombers QB. He did a great job on his first grey cup game and gave a fantastic effort, and I would not be surprised to see more of him in the future, and only improvement.

2007 GREY CUP CHAMPIONS ! !!
I'm glad they won.
I can finally replace my worn-out '89 Grey Cup Champions t-shirt. It wouldn't have lasted another 2 decades.

BTW: I believe that Kent Austin is the first person in professional football to win a league championship as both a player, and as a coach, with the same team.

it's a shame that, after the season which Kevin Glenn had, that he didn't get a chance to play in the Grey Cup game against his former team.

I thought Dinwiddie played well, in his place, and he'll likely have some future in this league.

I am happy the riders won ,,enjoyed that ......

but found the game ..donno but was not the most exciting ,,,thought the bc game way more entertaining....

and all of us sayin winnipeg Q'back played a good game :S
he threw three interceptions,,and inexperiance showed.....he may be good in the future but it did not show in this game .harsh?
defense dominated the game ,, oh well
rider's won

Soooooooooo cool that the riders won. I thought the first half offensively was not well played and thank goodness for our defense. But the second half rocked. I did enjoy the BC Lion/Riders game better.

I feel so darn happy that we finally have the cup after so many years.
