Well, to state the obvious, this is for discussion of games and related business for the New England Patriots 2007-2008 season. I mention '08 because we're going all the way this year!!! We have Testaverde, remember? Not to mention a complete awesome lineup.

To start out, I saw the preseason match vs. Carolina today. Won comfortably, 24-7. So much so they cleared the benches with just under a minute left.

I can't WAIT til the Brady Bunch come to Dallas!!

Well redundancy would be a good thing in this case! We are going to have a great season..as long as Randy Moss behaves himself, which he has every reason to do this that! Testaverde may get a courtesy snap or two this season.

Testaverde will be a great backup QB, but he is certainly not the missing link. However I am glad he is a Patriot.

The line up is different from last year, but are they good? That question will be soon answered at maybe midway season.

Clearing the bench under a minute remaining during regular season, which ever team does this, will be under scrutiny for weeks for bad sportsmanship.

My Late wife was the pats Fan. I am a panthers fan thats why I chimed in. We always enjoyed a good ribbing about each others Team. Oh and they are still my second mos Fave team

I am a very passionate Pats fan... but the preseason really doesn't matter that much at all.

I hope that the new wr's fit in well and are healthy...

pre season doesnt have a whole lot of weight (or much at all) on the reg. season, but we can still have fun talking about it. Unless someone tries to stop us, why not?

Samuel is back with the Patriots, hopefully this means more depth on defense. I really thought he was going to hold out until week 10.

Football is the best sport imo.

I'm starting to get into the mma (mixed martial arts) like UFC, Pride, etc... but NFL is still king.

Bucs did not kick the Patriots butt. The score was 13-10 with seconds remaining on the game. A smart coach would take a lost before going into OT and like everybody else has said its only preseason.

Hmm...lemme see what I my Swami Book of Football Knowledge and Nonsense says about the Patriots:

First of all, they have to be regarded as a serious contender. In the last 6 years, they have 5 division titles, 4 trips to the AFC Title Game and 3 Lombardi Trophies. That is some serious dominance for sure.
However, I think they seriously blew it with their WR situation. Why would you trade away Deion Branch and then trade to get Randy Moss? I know he broke the golden Patriot rule and held out and Belli hates that (see Ty Law), but I'd much rather have Deion Branch instead of Randy Moss. Folks, this is Randy Moss' 10th season in the NFL and he's been a problem child since day one. I had this same discussion last year with Cowboys fans about TO. Fact is these men are established now as to the types of people they will be and it will take a whole lot more than just changing uniform colors to turn these types of players into Teammate of the Year candidates. Randy Moss will be a problem child on the Patriots because he doesn't know how not to be! This was an absolute boneheaded mistake by what has been a very well run franchise. The decision to throw a rotten apple into this excellent harvest of players really has me dumbfounded and if you believe that a jersey change will suddenly change the personality of an immature man, you are in for a rude awakening.
What really makes no sense is that without Branch or Moss, the Patriots were 2 quarters away from the Super Bowl. They don't need a team cancer to get over the top.
I really think that decision to bring that player to this team will haunt this franchise. Maybe not right away or even this season, but it will happen. After 10 years, Randy Moss has done absolutely nothing to make me believe he won't throw a cry baby fit when things don't go 100% his way...

Spoken like a true reader of the opinions of someone else. Regardless of how we the fans see Mr. Moss, he is truly a concensus first rate "talent" at his position, especially after ten years in the league. With a Moss on your line at reciever, all teams must respect his "preconcieved" talent and send special attention his way, thereby opening up more room for the other "skilled" position players. (The notion that every position isn't "skilled" really bothers me) I am a Pats fan so my opinions are based in loyalty, but also in facts. The pats wouldn't turn T.O. away if they could get him for the price they got Moss for. If it works, great, if not we spent a couple of low draft choices for an experiment on a great talent.(read: anti- Danny Ainge move, that's another story.)
