| The New Nikki Sixx Book - The Heroin DiariesPage 1 of 2 (1, 2) | I have to admit that I was never a HUGE Motley Crue fan. (Girls, Girls, Girls? ...no thanks, I like guys) This past week the new Nikki Sixx book hit the shelves and I picked it up just for fun. I have to admit that I was blown away. I didn't expect that kind of honesty about just how low a human being can sink when they are addicted to heroin.
Even though I have never been interested in trying heroin or had a problem with addiction, this book made me stop and think about a lot of things.
Beyond the dairy entries, the artwork in the book is fantastic and in the end it left me with a huge rush of optimism. (The new song from Sixx AM - Nikki's new band "Life Is Beautiful" is based on excerpts from the book and can be found on many places on the internet. Great for rock fans!!)
I was wondering if anyone else here has read it yet (or has plans to do so) and what thoughts you had.

| The New Nikki Sixx Book - The Heroin Diaries Posted: 9/24/2007 6:17:26 PM | Been waiting to get it. You might like The Dirt, also by the Crue. My little hick town doesn't have a big enough bookstore that would stock it. (or ANY bookstore wtf) So I'll pick it up this weekend. There's a CD that goes along with it (has that song and others) Also looking forward to the new Foo Fighters CD being released tomorrow.
Here's that song, Life is Beautiful by Sixx AM http://youtube.com/watch?v=MJDDxHIaaVk

| The New Nikki Sixx Book - The Heroin Diaries Posted: 5/18/2009 11:33:17 AM | Ironic... Girls, Girls, Girls is on the radio right now! I'm third in line to borrow the book from my friend. He said it was one of the most insightful and outrageous books he'd ever read!

I've read sections of the dirt and this book.
Here's my issue. Yes Nikki you died came back, your lead singer killed someone and we're supposed to be impressed about all the drugs you did? I used to buy into the whole coolness of rock stars thing until I literally found my bass player dead, under the bridge downtown. Then six weeks later another close friend died in drunk driving accident so to read a book which basically glorifies these things repulses me. I'm sure it's cool to folks in bumblef___ USA, but to me, it was a cruel twist of fate that a POS like Sixx is still alive and so many other kids who believe this crap is cool, have died. The whole do as I say, not as I do message is lost on me.

| The New Nikki Sixx Book - The Heroin Diaries Posted: 6/6/2009 1:12:44 AM | I read the Dirt and that book was sick, twisted, and amazing.
I read Tommyland. Anyone who has interaction with his penis throughout the book isa god.
I read the Heroin Diaries and it was the most amazing thing ever. I met Nikki Sixx and have the book signed. The soundtrack by his side project Sixx:AM was amazing too and did get me through some rough mental times I had around the time it came out. The book really does give an insight into the life of this one-time heroin addict but if you have any frustration these are some words to remember and live by. I seriously recommend this book to everyone. It's been like 2 years since it came out and I still think it's amazing.

Nikki Sixx is a ****ing **** next to the junky who never had corporate financing. That Pete Doherty can go **** himself too . Pretentious ****wit. I'll happily put on my printless Marigolds and bang the tosser up with a final OD. NOB ENDZ !

| The New Nikki Sixx Book - The Heroin Diaries Posted: 11/11/2009 3:32:10 PM | I loved The Dirt, was a brilliant book and the chapter with Vince Neil and his daughter...
The Heroine Diaries was OK, there were parts of it where you really felt the paranoia, fear and frustration.
Tommyland, I never quite 'got', but struggled through it anyway.

| The New Nikki Sixx Book - The Heroin Diaries Posted: 11/11/2009 4:26:50 PM | I agree, all you need to do is read The Dirt and listen to Alice In Chains to realise how much smack can mess you up.
I really enjoyed The Dirt and I'll get round to buying this at somepoint soon, I've put a temporary ban on buying books for myself as I currently have a pile of new books that I've not gotten round to reading yet.

| The New Nikki Sixx Book - The Heroin Diaries Posted: 11/11/2009 4:35:22 PM | I was a little disappointed with Slashs Autobiography. Obviously the chapter where he experienced the little hallucinations and ran naked through the Golf Club thing was interesting and worth conjouring up the mental image but other than that, it was pretty flat.
Lemmy's book, White Line Fever is pretty cool.
Heavier Than Heaven is a good book about Kurt Cobain.
W. Axl Rose by Mick Wall is a good read for someone who's not massively familiar with Axl, but if you're a fan there's nothing there you won't already know.

| The New Nikki Sixx Book - The Heroin Diaries Posted: 11/11/2009 4:39:46 PM | White Line Fever is fantastic, I love the story about the crashed Mini when his mate steals the alloys off the Mini on its roof before calling the police and then driving back past the crash.....
"Jesus, that looks nasty, he alright?" "Yeah, but he won't be when he finds out some wanker's nicked his alloys."

| The New Nikki Sixx Book - The Heroin Diaries Posted: 12/11/2009 1:06:13 AM | LOL!! I can't think "Nikki Sixx" without thinking, "Edward Penishands". I haven't read the book, but the movie should be considered classic porn, along the lines of the "Gone With The Wind" of the genre. | |

Finally, someone else who understands what I've always thought of this buffoon. Yes, this man is 50 years old, and still glorifies cliche' "rockstar" horsesh*t. Grow the hell up already. You're not 19 anymore.
He and his lousy singer, Vince Neil, make me sick to my stomach.
