It's chilly up here now. In the 20's and I like it.

I like breathing the cold air and walking outside in it.It's cool if it's snowing and blowing too. Fun to see, like walking in a snow globe. Just have to watch the icy patches and be careful walking.

Will President Elect Donald Trump Last The Full 4 Years?
Posted: 12/15/2017 1:06:03 PM
Privacy? If a potential POTUS candidate wants privacy they shouldn't run for the office.

I think they should all have to provide tax returns, undergo medical, psychological and drug testing. Also be vetted by our intelligence agencies as to possible foreign and financial corruption and/or influence. All before being allowed to run and also as part of the Presidential vetting process. This info. should then be open to all potential voters as a means of assuring a candidates integrity... Don't like it?? Don't run.

Some people in the private sector already have to do some of this and their hands aren't even on the nuclear button.

I've got hair to spare, and I've been furry and bare.
A mans masculinity is not measured, by his ability to grow hair.

A man is a man, when a man does as he should.
As a mans deeds speak much louder, than his hair , his muscle, or his wood.

Unless of course, you happen to be a pornstar.

^^ @ 2 weeks time out?? Walts doesn't need that Dee but Trump does. In fact, the man needs a permanent time out as far as the office of POTUS goes.

And, regarding the OP's question. No, I don't think Trump will last 4 years. I call my representatives urging them to impeach this false representation of a POTUS on a regular basis. I also try to get others to do the same. If it works [our system] he'll be gone. By virtue of people who actually care about our country.

Nuff' said.

Miss Dee. If non citizens voted illegally and we know they did so..... And, if it was against the law and the law caught them.....

Well, if that was the case then how was it OK? If they were caught then wouldn't that mean the system is working?

Comrade Trump is the Lying King

Does'nt matter who you are or what your views are. As long as we keep talking/disagreeing and or hashing out the bull we're being fed then those who are doing the feeding will keep trying to sidetrack us into failing to realize were being bought.

It's getting to the point we're all not much more than a product or resource to that which we're all beholding to. A number in a system headed towards self absorption and ultimately the destruction of it's own environment. Economically, and environmentally we're all connected and we DO have the capacity to stop and make changes. It's up to us, and IMO Trump is definitely not the "leader" we need to accomplish this.

Imagine, a man who wants to increase our military and nuclear arsenal and then imagine him being in favor of conservative environmental policies...... Or, being in any way responsible with nukes or for that matter the environment.

The Keystone pipeline is already leaking less than a year after Trumps go ahead. The Native American and others protesting this were right. We must remember these things when election time comes.....IMO.

#84, The journey is indeed personal for me too.... But, I dare say it's not a lonely journey at all. Ditch the GPS and ask othes their opinions/thoughts about life in general.... And yes, we can all do as we please which our free will dictates .But, our minds and humanity put our free will in check. At least, with most this is true....

It's a balance to me it seems. Laws of man, mans desires, and the laws of nature and what WE think the truth is. Which, always seems to be subject to new discoveries. Religion is man made, after all....

OP.... When I was younger, I believed in God and how I pictured him.... Yes, God was a him in the religion I was raised in....Anyways, the religion I was raised in told me God knew all, and that the God my religion was pumping me full of was the only God and the God I should put my faith in..... Or else.... face HELL in the afterlife . If such a thing exists.

Then, I got out and about in OUR WORLD and began to formulate my own opinions about not just how OUR WORLD works but also my place in it. I still have a lot more questions than answers but I'm still kicking and that's what counts. If you're reading this I'm glad you're still kicking too. Opinion as usual.....

Sitting, kneeling or hiding out in the lockeroom during our anthem
Posted: 9/29/2017 9:12:11 AM
How's this for a what if? What if, some athletes in N. Korea were to perform a gesture such as kneeling or otherwise were to protest their Govt's treatment of..... Them.... Wonder how that would be handled there, as compared to here?

I have a idea folks like that may just .... Disappear... . Much like Russian journalists who write facts about their Govt. and then wind up "falling" off of buildings or being mysteriously poisioned.

Trump, and folks who feel kneeling is disrespectful are entitled to their opinions. That is freedom. I think, if Trump decides to outlaw or punish peaceable expression of what someone views as a problem with OUR country will just make OUR country move one step closer to becoming more like NK and Russia.

Sitting, kneeling or hiding out in the lockeroom during our anthem
Posted: 9/25/2017 6:40:11 PM
I think the reason many kneel during our anthem is to call attention to their cause. Which, as I understand is police brutality inflicted upon minorities. I also think this started because the folks kneeling thought no one was paying attention to what they were saying. Therefore, they did the kneel to call attention to police brutality targeting minorities.

It's been happening for a while now and thanks to Trump and his open yap at his Alabama pep rally it's now front and center again. Our country was built on dissent and protest and also the right to free expression regarding matters involving civil rights. It's part of what our national anthem and country is all about. Many feel we aren't living up to it's promise so.... Consequently, The Knee.

I think it's a shame that these knee taking Americans had to go this far just to get some recognition for their issues. I think it's a shame our President thinks they are SOB's and conversely thinks Nazi sympathizers are good people. I also think he could better spend his time helping out hurricane victims in Texas, Fla and Puerto Rico..

And # 7, ^^^ that's a good point.

What good things has Trump accomplished?
Posted: 9/20/2017 5:50:45 AM
3342, N Yorker. I know why I think Russia was involved in election 2016. It's because I've been following the news on this matter since the election and have come to the conclusion Russia has meddled in our election.

This matter has, and is being investigated. I backed and encouraged these investigations. The more the investigators dig the more it looks like reality and not rumor, or "fake news". If you think this could be a rumor maybe you should expand your news sources and analyze all sources without prejudice towards person or party.

John, what are you talking about? I don't care about election 2016 other than getting to the bottom of Russian involvement in it. If we do this maybe we can prevent it from happening again. You do care about the integrity of our elections don't you? Party affiliation has nothing to do this . I do believe I've told you this before.....

Any GOOD and CONCERNED American who cares about our country would and should want to get to the bottom of this. Regardless of party affiliation. If your "leader" and party are your only concern then you are the one with the problem.

^^^ I'm just going by what Trump said in the past when he said he wouldn't rule out using nukes. I hope he doesn't press the button but I think he is mentally unstable so who knows..... Same with the nut in Korea. Like I said they're both cut from the same cloth.

And, I bash, dislike, oppose and otherwise distrust Trump not only because of election 2016 [sponsored in part by Russia] but because he's done nothing to make me think he has anyone but himself and his own self interests in mind. Couple that with his lying and doubletalk and I guess that's pretty much it in a nutshell.

Other than that he seems to be a pretty good salesman because you bought his line of baloney and you ask for more. Plus, you just won't listen when folks try to tell you your POTUS is not just screwing you but doing it with the help of Russia. I guess I could tell you again that Trump is a crook but your eyes are just too clouded by love and you'd just call me a nay sayer, a hater, or worse.

Total destruction of a nation is considered proper self defense of either us, or an ally? And, why be in the UN if you don't plan on using it for all? And, knowing our destructive capabilities and N. Koreas this just seems like gloating and chest beating by Trump.... And Jong Un too... But they're both power mad egotistical nuts. Cut from the same cloth but with vastly different destructive abilities.

I at least have a say in what OUR nut does [I mean, Trump]. And, my Representatives know how I feel about "Total destruction" and our leader who thinks this is necessary. If we must defend ourselves or our allies I think it's better done worldwide as a united front. Gee, it just may save us a few bucks too with help from others.

Better this, than threats by a chickenhawk draft dodging POTUS who has in the past said nuclear is an option.... No one wins then....

And,,,, why should Trump be the only person deciding what country gets destroyed? This was a speech to the UN after all. Should'nt the world decide? Unless N Korea attacks someone first. And, even then a united response by everyone would be more effective I would think.

Why do you believe or not believe that Climate change is taking place
Posted: 9/19/2017 5:26:39 PM
Mother earth is just the starship us star children happen to be traveling on. Where we're going who knows? But, one thing I'm pretty certain of is this.

If we keep crapping in our own nests and refuse to show our home it's proper respect it may just let us know.... In it's own way that we're out of balance. It's happening now.....

The wind is not just blowing, but it's also sucking. The water is falling more than recordable levels... Ever... The flooding is real and the earth is shaking too.

That being said I'd say yes, we very well could be influencing climate change. If you view our planet as a living being that is interconnected and dependent upon one another to survive as a whole then yes..... We are an influence.... IMHO.

John, the hurricanes probably didn't have anything to do with global warming....
But, could global warming be causing greater hurricane intensity levels?

According to science and the Bible this could very well be so. And, according to both sources it's only going to get worse.... I reckon we'll just have to see what the future holds.

KJ, I think you are right about that. It also says we are the stewards of our planet/ earth and have dominion over such.

Going along that line of thinking I Believe we could all do better... And, be better stewards of our planet. How??? Well that is a good question. And, the fact we're at least aware and asking questions is a start IMHO.

According to when this thread was started, on 12/29/2015 it looks to me like we've had some pretty severe weather.

Now, since this posting date of 9/16/2017 folks have endured Hurricane Harvey and Irma. Lots of wind and water and at higher rates and levels than in the past. In otherwards, just since the start of this thread, the intensity of our weather is increasing and water deposits from said storms have increased accordingly.

This is due to higher mean/average water and air temperature and also from the meltwater from glaciers that are disappearing. This water and heat energy must wind up somewhere

So far, what has been happening is proceeding pretty much as scientists have predicted.... At least, from what I can see. What do you think?

#3258... I agree. Since Trump's election to POTUS it does seem to have emboldened a lot of the bigoted elements of our nation. Why.... It's almost as if the "Bigot Spigot" has been turned on to full blast. The swamp is being drained and refilled with cesspool runoff.... Quite an accomplishment for Trump and all of us too.

Just something I've also noticed since election 2016....

The baloney being hashed out here as of late about the statues, racism and sedition is a direct result of Trump as POTUS. I say the statues are less offensive than Trump himself and I'd rather tolerate them than him

. Not exactly a testament to a 4 year term for Trump, is it? Just my opinion....

#3869 Dee. I said I would make a decision after becoming informed as to the issue at hand. I do the same thing when issues are raised at the polls/voting booth now over the many matters involving us on both a local and federal level. Issues that were brought to a vote mainly by citizens wanting these issues decided by their votes.

Who votes? Who votes now Dee? Registered voters and your fellow citizens, that's who.

Or, by having enough people petition their Representatives to take action regarding their concerns this can also be accomplished. And, it ends when the people say it does.

^^^ Dee, read what I said in post # 3858. If the fate of these statues is put to a vote wouldn't all sides of the aisle get a say in what happens? I never suggested only "leftists" should decide anything in our country solely on their own.

Where does it end? Should'nt that be decided by all of us?

^^^ If it were up to a vote I can't say how I'd decide. I don't know Byrd's history well enough to know why a statue was built in his honor. I do know enough about Byrd to wonder who were his admirers and why they would build him a statue.

I guess you could say if these decisions were made as a group of people with a vote I'd have to get the facts first then decide.

^^^^ Know what John?? I don't have the answer to that. I know how I feel about it personally and if it were to be decided by all then all of us would have to abide by the decision. Something obviously glorifying racism or those wanting overthrow of the country seems obvious though.

When these statues were erected was everyone asked how they felt about it? Probably not, and if so the nay sayers were obviously ignored... Or worse.

I don't thing bigotry will ever be eliminated and you sure can't legislate how someone feels about someone based on who they are. But we also don't need public monuments to past failed thinking .

^^^ John, I guess it all depends on when they were made and by whom. Some of these were erected by klansmen and other such folks. Folks who wanted to keep others down and erected monuments to leaders and others who represented bigotry, hatred and overthrow of our country. Why glorify those who at one time sought to destroy our country?

From what I've heard Robt. E Lee didn't want any monuments to him. Thought it would cause division in our nation that at that time just fought a bloody, divisive war..... Mr Lee was right because look at what we're now fighting among ourselves over.... Smart man.

#3849, John.... The men on Mt Rushmore were past American Presidents. Some may say they were bigoted because some were slaveholders and according to todays standards they probably would be. Those were the times and also part of our history. I would neither deny or glorify it.... Unless it was something to be proud of.

Many of those statues were erected after the Civil war and the ones glorifying those who fought to enslave others and also to overthrow our nation and Constitution should be taken down. It simply glorifies folks who led a war to continue slavery and is even now worth starting violence over. See Charlotteville...

I guess all I can say is they're relics of the past and in some cases don't reflect our best traits. And, as I said don't deny or glorify. How about, archive, display , be truthful and learn. Put these things in museums or in a state park, like Mt Rushmore. Don't destroy our past but learn from it..... And if it glorifies something bad remove it from the public yet save it and use it as a learning experience for those willing to pay to see these items and learn their TRUTHFUL history.... Use the profits for something useful.... Decided by all... Just my opinion..

#3847 John. In this post you asked "when will this end as far as which statues stay up, even though they are of racists and bigots...... You right there answered your own question.

The statue removal will end when there are no more statues glorifying racism and bigotry. Easy peasy..... Except perhaps in museums and then along with the statue also it's truthful history for all to see. History.... Don't deny or glorify it.

I don't think President Trump will last for a 4 year Presidential term. He just has so many red flag problems associated with his past and what he says, does and lies about on an ongoing and daily basis now will catch up to him. Some who voted for and backed him are expressing regrets.

He is not just under foreign influence but he also is using the office of POTUS to enrich himself and his rich backers. Like all facts and investigations the ones being conducted now against Trump will eventually be his demise. I just hope the truth comes out and his stain against the Presidency will be recognized and his ousting from office happens before he does too much damage. Just a hope for our nation and also just another opinion.

#3179 Chameleon... I for the life of me haven't been able to figure out why a everyday Joe worker would have to be screened and vetted to higher standards than our POTUS. The very least they ALL should have to do is provide income tax records. I know it's not required by law.... But.... Tough....

Want to be MY POTUS?? Give up the info. and make it a law not voluntary. Don't like it? Then don't run for office. I want to know. Then take a polygraph, psych and drug screen. Think it's none of my business?? Well, if that is how you feel seek a job in the private sector. They can ask for this information if you want to work for them. I deserve the same along with everyone else you'll be working for.

And, I suppose we could forego the head shaving 666 test.... Just getting Trump to produce a tax return would be a HELL raising feat in itself. Unless we made it a law for all potential POTUS candidates.

#3173 John,,,, You mean the part in my post # 3167 where I suggested Trump be held down and his head shaved to check for the number 666 and or satanic markings??? Is that what you consider racial, bigoted or violent?

Welll, let me tell you sir, when it comes to satanic detection in our upper level governmental personell [POTUS] I say you just cant be careful enough. I thought many Christian folk would appreciate a "Presidential mark of Satan body check" being applied to all presidential candidates and or hopefuls. I included it in with the psychtests, polygraphs, etc just as an added assurance to the faithful.

Better safe than sorry and I wouldn't want a doper for President any more than I'd want the antichrist. How about you folks? Is this a reasonable screening/vetting or am I going overboard?

^^^No, I wasn't nearly as concerned about their level of honest or competency in the past. Now, in our new Trumpian era ,truth, competency and corrupt foreign influence and the very IDEA itself that our POTUS could be using his high office to enrich himself and his kin has now invaded this high and noble office. We have a crook for a Pres. and he's rubbing his nose in his corruption and doing it with the blessing of those of you who love him. People like me have been trying to warn folks like you about Trump before election 2016.

Besides, other than Bush the bungler why would I have to question Obama's Presidential reign. The man had more brain and integrity than Trump could ever hope for and he did more for working folks than Trump ever will. I say from here out we vet our leaders and come up with a "minimum of standards and requirements" for these folk. And make it something WE ALL AGREE on.

I say from here out we vet our leaders and come up with a "minimum of standards and requirements" for these folk. And make it something WE ALL AGREE on.

What good things has Trump accomplished?

John, I am assuming by your post # 3168 and reference to me you are talking about my post # 3167....

I neither mentioned race bigotry or hate in said post. I simply wanted our POTUS to be vetted and have to undergo the same OR MORE STRINGENT employment screenings as myself [and others]to be considered to be OUR leader.

Get that John? If you don't. Re read my post # 3167 and check your own head and make sure you're not also a satanic surrogate.... If you like Trump, you just might be one.

Here's what I think.... I think Trump should be held down and then his head should be shaved completely bald. The reason for this is to check for the number 666 or any other indication of satanic influence. Maybe he should also then have his skull X Rayed to see if there is a brain rolling around in there. We could use his sheared hair for attic insulation. Then, we could listen to him talk about his last campaign rally....

Once this is done he could show his tax returns. And, maybe even take a psychological profile examination and maybe even a lie detector test. Then, the man could piss in a cup to make sure he isn't a doper. All of these things have been requirements to get a job for many of US.... I've had to submit to many of the before mentioned screenings. Why shouldn't OUR POTUS have to jump through the same hoops to get a job as MANY of us have to?

Just an opinion....And just wondering. Why we don't VET our elected officials better than we have? It may have prevented the catastrophe we have now as a leader. Just wondering.... The accomplishment here??? It's making folks talk, ain't it???

Would'nt it be funny if Trump were the antichrist? I mean, if there is such a character. But... if there WERE such an individual wouldn't said individual exhibit many of Trump's already displayed charachteristics?? Lying, cheating others, total self absorption.... Not to mention Russian ownership, emolluiment clause constitutional infringements and possible senility. The man is both a contradiction of truth and a monument to hogwash in the same breath. And, he's our President. Those who love him do indeed seem infatuated with him don't they? Almost as if they were bewitched.....

In 8 months or so the man has tried to swerve the entire country and can't seem to tell the same story twice. The first thing the man says is usually a lie and everything he says on the same subject afterwards is just lie embellishment.

But if Trump is SATAN you'd think he would get a better barber. Just because he resides in HELL doesn't mean his hair has to look that way. Opinion, again....

Gosh, they love him so much they'll probably commission a statue of him in some public square somewhere.... And, amazingly Mexico will pay for it.

Will President Elect Donald Trump Last The Full 4 Years?

I don't think Trump, will last the full 4 years.
So far all his administration has produced, is mistrust and heightened fear.

It's been a little over 6 months in for Trump, and so far he's a big disappointment.
He's living in the past and his biggest accomplishment, seems to be election 2016 and his electoral anointment.

But, rules are rules... And fair is fair. And also to me it would seem.
The fact more people voted for Hillary, probably makes Trump want to scream....

Just something I've thought Trump may be thinking too.... Just opinion and speculation on my part arrived at from what he has said and his general temperament so far.... Very un Presidential

Personally, I'm too young to go out of this world looking like a burnt weenie sandwich. So are my children, grandchildren and everyone elses friends and relatives.... Worldwide.

Earlier, when their offices opened I called both of my Senators and also my Congressional representative and asked these folks if they could get together and get our President to tone down his rhetoric and to kindly ask our POTUS to shut up. I asked them to do this on my behalf since they work for me. If I'm going to complain I figure I should complain to those who can do something about it. Plus, it made me feel better.

Posting it here makes me feel better too especially if it spurs other forumites to act as far as letting your Reps. know how you feel about our "Leader".

Trump will get to build a hotel in N. Korea even if it takes his full 4 year term and kills us all..... If it gets nuked and no one can stay there it'll be a Huuge tax write off. MTGA.... Making Trump great again.... Now on OUR dime.

If you ask me Trump ought to nuke proof all of his hotels and worldwide holdings. If he does it now he can probably get the US taxpayers to pick up the tab. Then, when him and the fat Korean kid start their pissing match in earnest he'll have a nice place to hide beside the dump that he thinks the White House is. Bet he'll let all the folks at his rallies stay there cheap as long as they show him some loyalty and love.

I can't say I see a 4 year term for Trump, his jail sentence should be twice as long.
When the American people elected this fraud, their decision could not have been more wrong.... We'll see, won't we?

Trump is dirty, and I see no need to flirt. With a so called President, so covered in dirt.
The man oozes insincerity, and lies every time he speaks.
He only seems to communicate, in both twits and tweaks.

His spokespeople so far seem to be, on a different page than Trump.
And if they don't lie for the man and adore him.... ,They'll be out of their jobs and out on their rumps.

So far our POTUS to me.... Seems to be... Both a liar and a phony. But, I knew that before the election... I think he's got a vast line of baloney..... But, we've made our selection.... How do you feel about it? I personally am not a fan of the "Don". Never was and can't see the attraction.... Trump lovers, talk to me...

I'm not happy with the man so far and I hope this yankwad is never tested in a crisis. We'll see I guess. He may be the POTUS but he still answers to US.... He needs to learn this and get his lips off the Russian teat and other nether parts of Vlad. Just my opinion....
