YOUR PoF SOP #1 Still have your line in the water?
Posted: 6/12/2016 11:44:14 PM
I visit on my laptop. I don't have a smartphone, because smart phones make dumb people (just kidding, but if the shoe fits....). My line remains in the water, because at 76 I'm still attractive enough to turn a few heads, and optimistic enough to think that some day it will be the right head that turns.

Shorter man Taller woman
Posted: 1/25/2016 12:52:25 AM
I'm short (5'2"), old (76), and bald. None of those physical aspects have hindered my dating life. Since age 16, I have been approached by girls who were taller (and, now much younger) than I. Height is only a problem, when you make it a problem. My girlfriend of 20 years ago, was 5'8", and towered over me, but it was a great relationship while it lasted ( even considered marrying her). So, to sum up, you have one life, and you should enjoy it with whomever you find attractive, and don't worry about what other people think.

Do you have to be busy to be happy?

I turn off the TV (a major source of agitation), put on a jazz record (not a CD), then sit and listen until its time to play the other side. That makes me happy, and I can do it anytime I want.

Old age is debilitating, old age plus statins is devastating. The best part of getting off of statins was the return of my mental sharpness.

I would think a 25% risk reduction in secondary prevention should be worded a little more positively than "could be beneficial". Perhaps I'm an optimist.

I claim to be a human being who has managed to live to be 75 years old. Over the course of those years, I have seen many scientific truths be disproven. I have seen so-called experts, who have been proven to be liars, and charlatans. I have made it to old age by trusting my own experiences, and ignoring "experts". If you feel that you have some knowledge that contributes to this discourse, then feel free to share it. However, when you come across as a smartass, know it all, then you defeat your purpose of influencing others.

It is obvious that Skyr and I come from two very different generations. I was raised and educated to think for myself. Skyr was evidently educated (indoctrinated) to take the word of "authorities" as immutable law. Scientists and their studies can produce whatever result is most beneficial to their corporate sponsors. When you throw around statistics, and proclamations, quoting so called experts, it just shows me how empty your arguments are. Keep in mind that the overall agenda for the ruling elite, is population reduction (by any means necessary).

Actually Skyr, you're full of s##t. My primary argument was my personal experience with statins, before I began to research their deleterious effects. They are poisons, end of discussion, and no matter how brilliant you think you are, you're still stupid.

"Statins are known to reduce inflammation. They also help prevent cholesterol deposits from rupturing, which can block blood flow in even the fittest of individuals and cause heart death. In the rest of this Thread, Skyr is right on as is Ed Bear. Interesting thread, and I agree with them. Go with the established science. Otherwise you are whistling in the dark."

Do you and Skyr work for Big Pharma, or do you just have a bad case of stupid? If you believe the marketing crap for statins, you deserve whatever they do to you.

Going Gray and loving it
Posted: 5/31/2015 3:36:00 AM
Men have a definite advantage here, because going gray makes them look "distinguished". This is especially true, when you wear navy blue. Note, this does not apply to beards. When my beard came in white, my own mother accused me of looking like santa claus, so the beard had to go.

Although we live in a time of instant gratification, and instant relationships, there is something to be said for taking it slow. I have to laugh at the people who believe that if they're not having sex after 5 dates (or fewer), then it's time to move on. It's not a competition, so just relax and LET things happen, instead of trying to MAKE things happen. Good luck to the OP.

I think Skyr is a blatant shill for Big Pharma, and I don't want him to have the last word on a thread that I have initiated. Statins are inherently dangerous. That's not just my opinion, but an opinion shared by scientists. Let's look at one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XykVFMd7S-c

For whatever reason, skyr feels that it's his duty to defend the pharmaceutical companies. As I have stated, from the beginning of this thread, big pharma's advertising and PR, will never trump my personal experience with statins. It's simply a case of the cure being worse than the nonexistent disease. I'm warning people not to be overly influenced by so-called scientific experts.

I am pushing 75 (in a couple of months), and am a born optimist. The problem is not the women, but our culture, which worships youth, and "success". It's hard to find a woman of any age, who isn't painfully superficial.

I am fast approaching 75 (at the end of the year), and I feel (and look) great. I know that I am fortunate, to not have any debilitating illnesses, and to have inherited good genes. I think it helps to keep your mind active, and do things that you enjoy, every day. I am, of course flattered, when I am hit upon by women who are much younger.

I have dated a number of asian women, and have had a couple of chinese girlfriends. The bottom line, is that, being small myself, I prefer smaller women (no matter what their ethnicity). I date women who's company I enjoy, and who have intelligence and that rare commodity called, "class".

Two quick tips:

1- Eat less, because being a little hungry won't kill you.

2- Read labels, and if an item contains aspartame, or MSG, don't buy it.

I've met thousands of people on statins over the last 12yrs- seen one significant adverse reaction...and it resolved quickly when withdrawn. No biggie

Skyr, unless you're a physician it's highly doubtful that you have met, "thousands of people on statins", and rather unlikely that they would share with you their reactions to their medications. This leads me to believe that you are either a fool, or a tool, and most likely both.

In terms of health risks...statins are fairly safe drugs...serious adverse reactions are uncommon.

This is BS, and propaganda of the pharmaceutical companies!
