Advice on messaging?
Posted: 6/17/2010 8:00:41 PM
My thoughts:

Be nice to the person that you are messaging. If you don't take the time a read a profile and you leave something hokey your probably going to be disappointed in the amount of responses.

Showing bias here. How about Husker fans that continue to sellout their football venue. 304 consecutive games and still ongoing.

Matchmaker, Matchmaker, make me a match

Elaine:

Different strokes for different folks. I would let other people matchmake for me. Not sure if I could matchmake for someone else though.

Is this a major way of getting into someone's business? I guess it depends on the person.

College thoughts.
Posted: 2/20/2010 9:42:54 PM
I appreciate the feedback. The more I think about it the more I ask, "Are folks 18-19 years old really sure they know what the heck they want to do?" I went into college undecided. I found something that was interesting at the time and got my degree. At the time I should of been more aware of how marketable my degree would of been to employers.

College thoughts.
Posted: 2/19/2010 8:53:57 PM
I've been thinking about this off and on for quite some time.

I graduated from college in 1998. While I enjoyed the social aspect of being away from my parents for the first time I'm starting to 2nd guess myself. I do wonder if going to college was a good idea? At the time I thought it was a good idea but today I wonder if I should of waited a few years then go?

I'm starting to think that I did not take it as serious as I should have. . .

I have not stopped but I'm not doing with the frequency that I use to when I first joined the site. Guess I'm getting a little discouraged by folks.

What I have been doing is reading a woman's profile and asking her something about a detail in her profile (i.e. common interest).

the drunk debate

I think a few drinks can help loosen you up and feel more courageous. However, with alcohol you may say something that you normally won't when sober. Sober or if you have had a few/lot I think it is best to keep the conversation general.

I'm glad Leach is gone. His offense killed the Huskers. However, I think the hiring of Tuberville is a good one. He is going to emphasize defense over offense.

I think the NCAA needs to think about not having a preseason poll. Matter of fact I would be in favor of not ranking anyone until about Mid October. At that point I fell that the contenders will start to seperate themselves from the pretenders.

STEELERS!

Omar Epps is a better coach than movie actor.

They have the best organization in the NFL today. When Hines Ward retires will he be rank up there with Stallworth or Swann? His numbers are certainly comparable to the Hall of Famers at similar stages in their career.

When Cowher retired, I was expecting a drop off but it really did not happen. Credit the Rooney family with the hiring of Mike Tomlin. His choice of having LeBeau on staff pays off every Sunday. Additionally, their drafting continues to remain solid. You never really see Pittsburgh go through the FA route compared to Washington or Dallas.

According to the media Gresham is out as well. Another huge loss for them. Their next two games will be wins. Bradford might be back by the Miami game. Who knows how sharp he will be by then. Starting to wonder if Stoops is regretting not developing a backup QB last year?

Their OL may be shaky but lets keep one thing in mind. All those OL were highly recruited and are going to need some time to gel. They still have a good running game. The D will keep them in every game.

Ron Zook may be on the hot seat. Did they look unorganized and unprepared to play or what? Guy is a heck of a recruiter. Urban Meyer can attest to that. His coaching leaves a little to be desired.

No one's seat may be hotter than Al Groh's at Virginia. How do you get beat by William and Mary.

If you are looking for a new coach who is proven I would take a look at Brian Kelly at Cincinnati. They smoked Rutgers in their place on Sunday. This is with a defense that lost most of their starters from their BCS team last year.
