Why do women have no sense of humour yet ask for GSOH ?

I think we’re missing the point. Having a GSOH isn’t about being able to recite lame jokes she/he has probably heard before.

Most people on here are fairly fresh out of a relationship. I've never heard of a relationship ending in fits of laughter. They obviously feel they need to have a laugh and that's why they mention it.

Sometimes you've gotta read between the lines a little.

Sexism? Private Images And A Solution
Posted: 10/13/2018 7:48:44 AM
It’s not a wasted 5 weeks to the attention seeker though. After a meet and greet and subsequent bewilderment, disillusionment and mutterings of lesson learned they’ll just reel in the next sucker with 10 year old pics.

I met someone once who had a 10 date rule. It wasn’t worth the wait. She was local the me and someone I know told me a few months later she would drop that rule every Saturday night around 2am .....to a lift home and a kebab.

I think dating is one thing the internet has screwed up.

Years ago you'd spot someone on a night out, snog em, date em, marry em .....job done.

Now it's all about leagues and options and trying to bag someone who's in a higher league. But no one ever stops looking, no one wants to stop playing the game.

Dating has become Top Trumps.

Bit of a legal question
Posted: 10/9/2018 7:54:43 PM
You say you’ve been left with a bill for £700, Is this a bill for the repair or is it an estimate? If it’s the former your insurance company are unlikely to pay out. They will argue (correctly) there should have been a written estimate submitted before an assessor would have made a decision and agreed to repairs going ahead.

Also protected NCB is a sales gimmick. You may have maximum NCB but your premium will rise next year if you make a claim.

Bitcoin - just how bonkers is it?
Posted: 9/25/2018 8:58:56 AM
That’s an increase of 2400%

TWO THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED percent.

To anyone who is reading this who already owns a home ask yourself this, could you buy that home again, at today’s price, on your current wage as a first time buyer with a nominal deposit? Actually don’t even bother thinking about it, the answer is no.

You can’t even get a council house anymore, seeing as they’ve all been sold off to scum bag local capitalists who rent them back to the council at market rent.

We need another world war.

In 1975 a brand spanking new 3 bed semi in a good area on the south coast was 12k. I know because my dad who had a fairly mundane manual labour dockie job and my mum who never worked, bought one.

Back then my dad was on £100 a week. 5k per annum. He borrowed 2.5 x his income.

That same house is now worth £300k + you’d need to be earning £120k per annum. Dockies earn around 30k with overtime.

What ever caused it, who ever profited from it all, our basic fundamental right to own an affordable half decent home is now a pipe dream and a story from forty years ago.

I am thinking of creating another profile with my age twenty years younger.
Posted: 9/19/2018 9:55:14 AM

I would not be lying about my age, I would state clearly right at the top of my profile the reasons for doing so, it would merely be a way to circumvent the filter. If there were no desperate dirty old men on here, I would not need to do this... Think about that for a second.

Think about what? You are a desperate dirty old man by your own definition.

To the poor innocent twenty something who happens to stumble across your new improved profile the second she sees you've lied and entered false information (regardless of your correction on your profile) she will see you as a desperate dirty old man. You might think you're peter pan, she's going to think lying, dirty old sod.

Whether or not you're on a spectrum that makes you think like a twenty something (*newsflash! We all do) you are your age, Get over it.

Loads of people lie about stuff online, especially age. Twenty years though, that’s taking the pi$$.

Get offline, join a gym or something. Meet some younguns and impress them with the geeky Lego sh1t......without the downer of your age stamped on your forehead. No lying or deceiving.

Brexit? A coup de grace?
Posted: 9/18/2018 4:48:41 AM

There are more people joining in the clamour for a 2nd referendum

Or you could look at it this way, our biased media is reporting every single whiff of detail about anyone remotely popular who mentions a 2nd referendum and ignoring anyone who says otherwise

Personally i find the whole brouhaha fascinating. There didn't seem to be this much passionate opinion when we joined the common market, or when we signed the Maastricht Treaty and plenty of other moments in the last 40 years that eroded our sovereign powers and identity in favour of a dark unelected, unaccountable force .

We sleepwalked into the superstate and we are at each others throats coming out of it, WTF?

Do you like a bargain? Or are you happy to pay a lot for something you really want.
Posted: 9/9/2018 7:43:53 AM
Depends how you define bargain. To me a bargain is getting something i really want or need at a lower price than i was expecting or prepared to pay for it.

Being in Waitrose or M&S at the exact time the yellow sticker woman/man is starting his/her rounds is a good example.

To a lot of people a bargain is just something being sold cheaper than it once was, regardless of whether they ever needed or wanted it.

Next sale is a good example.

How to write your first message
Posted: 9/4/2018 11:46:26 AM

either I don't understand how POF works and they can see the profile, but it not register as viewed,

Mail settings
Allow a user to see that I viewed their profile:
Yes/No

The first thing you need to do is forget about your whole profile and consider yourself just a thumbnail, That's all any of us are on here (if you've got pics) In the searches you're a thumbnail, in someone's inbox you're a thumbnail, in matches you're a thumbnail. You are just an approx 40mm square pic in a sea of others.

For someone to want to click your thumbnail and see your whole profile it needs to be a good pic, if you're not photogenic next to no one will look at you and next to no one will read your message. You're skipped over in a sea of anonymity in searches/matches and ignored and bulk deleted in people's inbox. Basically you're stuffed.

That is a hard truth to learn about internet dating.

Like every other decade it was a mixed bag. We had epics like New order’s Blue Monday and absolute turds like Captain Sensibles Happy Talk. For me the early 80’s was about DM, Japan, Simple Minds. The middle was about Madge, Michael Jackson, Five Star and the end was about........feck knows, I was wasted.

Brexit all the way to the door.. but no further?
Posted: 8/30/2018 2:44:11 PM
Who ever said Brexit was going to be great?

Most people on either side of the argument knew a potential Brexit would be difficult and potentially costly to the UK and not just in the short term either.

The UK still voted leave.

Why do remoaners keep trotting out the same old arguments about economics? It was never about economics. Most people with at least one functioning brain cell knew that 350 million a week figure trotted out during the campaign was wrong.

They still voted leave.

Brexit was/is about sovereignty, democracy, borders and for a few people it was about the fact they'd never been asked to join the EU in the first place.

Well thanks to our new dynamic economy of flogging insurance, burgers and sofas to each other for minimum wage and having to bum a a few measly quid of quick quid to eat for the last week of every month i'd say most people are just as screwed as he is. Working or not.

Tweeting he was previously getting 212 quid a week for fcuk all wasn't a wise decision.

The car's don't really interest me as much as the banter and chip pans in caravan capers. Some of the specials like mopeds in Vietnam and lorries in Myanmar are visually stunning.

Pauline, with respect just drop the rape threat nonsense. Not a single person on here would believe he was anything more than trying to shock you for a reaction. You were never in any danger from the Maltese Mole, it was a load of twisted nonsense from the mind of a raving misogynist.

The police would take you seriously I’m sure, they have to. The court however would boot it straight out when your ranting novel all over these forums of how much you hate the mole, came to light.

You have my sympathy, he’s a coont and he’s hurt you. You were gullible enough to get involved and subsequently played by a bell end, this is where the anger stems from but it’s obvious you need to move the fcuk on.

Absolutely, you'd have been mad (or the world's most staunch socialist) at 7.5k to not have bought it.

I don’t think it was a scam Roxy, it was sound advice and still is where home ownership is within reach of average people on average incomes, sadly not many people want to live in Albania.....

Your brother has a point though, paying a mortgage makes you an obedient little debt serf , much less likely to cause any trouble or god forbid go on strike. The bank doubles its money it never had and you’ve got an asset to pay for elderly care......as long as they can keep finding suckers to “get on the ladder” and keep the Ponzi going.

No one gives a shyte about buying in Germany.......Germans that is, not us, obviously.
