Notice: Forums will be shutdown by June 2019

To focus on better serving our members, we've decided to shut down the POF forums.

While regular posting is now disabled, you can continue to view all threads until the end of June 2019. Event Hosts can still create and promote events while we work on a new and improved event creation service for you.

Thank you!

Would a guy date a woman who is or has been a swinger?
Posted: 6/7/2012 11:03:31 AM
The term swinger is taken from monkeys and their sexual lifestyle. They stay in groups and when they are ready for sex they do it with the closest monkey of the opposite sex. They are not monogamous. So swingers are couples that get together with other couples for open sex.

Phobic? Guess it depends on your definition. I really don't care what other people do. I'm just not into guys. But I will admit a little curiosity as to what you'd want to ask that 1. couldn't be asked here and 2. would cause you to go there?

I don't think I'll ever marry again. I may live with someone. It may be in my house or theirs. But I'll still have this house to come back to. My experience has taught me that no matter who that person is today, she'll be someone else in a couple of years. But then so will I. So I'll keep my tracks covered. You see 2 people can start out doing it right, but either one can de-rail the entire thing at any time.

i thought this was a dating site

Amen. I usually ask a lady out and if she turns me down but shows interest I'll ask again. After that the ball is in her court. As the site says there are plenty of fish.

Could telling a person what you want too soon, do more bad than good!!!
Posted: 8/20/2010 10:54:40 AM
Asking that question very early in a relationship is the same as making small talk. 80 - 90% of the people will give you the standard answer. I want somebody honest, sincere, that will communicate, yada yada. How many times have we heard from the ladies that they just want an honest, sincere, guy with a good personality that makes her laugh and the next time you see her she's with a "bad boy" that treats her like dirt? (I'm sure some of the ladies will have an answer for my analogy) *LOL* Bottom line is you won't get an honest answer usually. Or maybe we don't really know what we want. Maybe we have to learn as we go.

The only way to really know if this person is a good fit for you is to spend time together.

Giving up on love... When should you let it go.
Posted: 8/10/2010 6:31:57 AM
If we talking about a marriage then I agree with Yo. But if it's just a relationship that hasn't reached the level of engagement even, then I'd put in as much effort as the other person. One person can not make a relationship work and sometimes it's better to walk away. You're hurting yourself by staying if there's no or not enough effort from the other person.

Yes Yo, Taylor Swift and Kellie Pickler are the back up singers. We also have William Shattner and Jason Alexander. I guess I feel as you do. If you don't like me for being me then better to know now and move on.

^^^ I agree. I'm serious too. But I am picky and tired of settling. To me the forums can be a way of getting to know someone (to a degree) before agreeing to meet. The event that I attended I did so because several of the people that I had chatted with on the forums were going to be there. And I wanted to meet them. (In fact I met you there if you remember?) ;-)

I've heard that POF doesn't have much regard for the bloggers. We're only about 5-10% of the POF pond. By moving the link to get here, thereby making it harder, feels like the first step to doing away with the forums.

^^^^ A few ladies that I've met fall into this category also. I think it has to do with, as you say, the fear of being alone. But I've learned that if you need to be with someone you're in trouble and should deal with that. You're ready when you meet someone that you want to be with. (Not need to be with) A relationship should add spice to your life. Not take it over.

I've heard that as many as 33% of the people that sign up on dating sites are married. Add that to the fact that if you're single at this point in life there is a reason. Some are valid and many are big red warning signs. You may want ask before agreeing to meet him. Also most people try to force themselves into the dating scene before they are ready and then may get cold feet when it's time to actually go on a real date. You just have to accept the fact that the stable and ready group is the minority and just keep looking until you find what you're looking for. One way to screen these folks is to attend some events. And if a guy says he'll call and doesn't or he stands you up, unless there was a death in the family, cut him loose and don't look back.

A woman sees a Scotsman in a kilt.

She asks him, "What's underneath your kilt?" He says, "Why don't you go find out?"

So, she reaches underneath and finds what's there, and says "Oooh! That's gruesome!" The Scotsman replies, "Touch it again, lassie, it grew some more!"

^^^^ You seem a little frustrated. If you want my input here it is. (If not just ignore it) I just saw your profile. You put very little effort into it. There's no picture and the about me section is less than 3 lines that really don't say much. You give a guy no input into what you think a good first date would be. Yet you seem to think that a guy will just know what you want? Your post above tells me 10 times more about who you are and what you're looking for than that profile. Start with the sentence "Let me break down what I'm looking for." Then copy and paste that into your profile. Find a nice photo and put it out there. You may not get as many responses but the quality of the response's that do get will be much better.

Sea World has refused to release the whale into the wild. They say that it doesn't have the skills to survive on it's own. But I don't think it should ever perform again. Just let it be a display animal.

Thank you Yo.

Zee and I had exchanged emails stating that we wished those 2 would just let the flag thing drop. I wasn't posting but I was lurking. Also, I tried to send you a message to apologize if I had offended you. (But I'm a little too old to message you)

I hate it that this is your first impression of me. I think most people here would have labeled me as fun loving and laid back before this.

Zee, I treat people they way they treat me. You should know that about me by now. I never asked for a war with Were. He came into this forum with an attitude about southerners. He then offered me a phony olive branch and I left. And when he thinks I'm gone he posts this:

I am glad that Rebel333 has not returned to this forum because he was worshipping the Confederate flag instead of worshipping something else. That is idolatry. I have burnt a few Confederate flags in my life time.

He brought up the subject of what should be worshiped and what should not. He accused me of worshiping a flag. I only asked what he worshiped. If he wants to try to belittle me for something thats not true, I worship God, then he needs to be ready to state his beliefs. Personally I could care less if he's a Wiccan or whatever. But if you want to belittle me for being christian then be ready to defend your beliefs. Or to put it another way I'll give you the same level of respect for your opinions or beliefs that you give me for mine.

werejaguar, you sir are a lair and back stabber. Below is the post that I took offense to. It goes well beyond discussing the flag. My Dad was a NASCAR driver. I have a couple of baptist preacher's in my family. I do like grits.

Yes. People are afraid to post on the Georgia Forum because Georgia is not very cosmopolitan. Remember, not every Georgian likes Nascar, eats grits or attends a Baptist church. I hate hearing rap music and I hate seeing the Confederate flag. But Georgia is a great state nonetheless.

Even after our exchange you posted the below post.

I am just telling it like it is. I am not an agitator and I am no better than anybody else in this Forum but neither are you! Let's just call a truce and forget it about it, like the New Yorkers say? I have too many friends in this Forum already but I guess I can always make even more friends. Rebel333, will you be my friend?

I accepted your phony olive branch and refrained from posting in here in the interest of peace. Things had gone too far. So when you think I'm gone you post:

Yofabulous11, do not let Rickk chase you away from this forum. Some of us appreciate your company on this website. I am glad that Rebel333 has not returned to this forum because he was worshipping the Confederate flag instead of worshipping something else. That is idolatry.
