Reaching your 40's and not being a parent.
Posted: 5/11/2019 12:02:20 AM
2ufo....I dated a guy all through my 20s and we’d both agreed there would be no children. Sadly he changed his mind and I didn’t. We split up when I hit 30. He went on to marry and have children.
In my culture there is a strong expectation to settle down/marry and have children. This happened with all my brothers but not for me. No medical reasons and no family trauma, I just didn’t want children.
[Ironically] I went into teaching but now I’m more mentoring and conflict resolution, and have worked with children for 20+ years.

And I’ve found in my area too that a lot of young people are not staying within the local vicinity anymore. They’re moving away to study/work/live. Years ago it seems families lived more close-knit.

Sugar Daddy relationship all over POF
Posted: 5/9/2019 1:21:42 PM
I’ve always aimed for relationships that make me feel really good.
When ‘growing up’ I used to think that my self esteem and confidence must be weak and that’s why I couldn’t ever deal with or date a crappy guy.
Self preservation or something I guess :)

OP not liking some of the opinions you’ve solicited? :)

It wouldn’t bother me either way but then I don’t have children, do I still count? lol

I could say something like.....some people who’ve had kids tend to be more self-absorbed/selfish within their little family/brood.....just to be a bit controversial

BBE....good choice.
I thought of a song to represent the present climate of things everywhere, alas it’s always been a mad world. But here it is....Fun Boy Three....The Lunatics.

See a clinic full of cynics
Who want to twist the peoples' wrist
They're watching every move we make
We're all included on the list
The lunatics have taken over the asylum
The lunatics have taken over the asylum

No nuclear the cowboy told us
And who am I to disagree
'Cause when the madman flips the switch
The nuclear will go for me
The lunatics have taken over the asylum
The lunatics have taken over the asylum

I've seen the faces of starvation
But I just can not see the points
'Cause there's so much food here today
That no one wants to take away
The lunatics have taken over the asylum
The lunatics have taken over the asylum

The lunatics have taken over the asylum, take away my right to choose
The lunatics have taken over the asylum, take away my point of view
The lunatics have taken over the asylum
The lunatics have taken over the asylum, take away my dignity
Take these things away from me
The lunatics have taken over the asylum
The lunatics have taken over the asylum, take away my family
Take away the right to speak
The lunatics have taken over the asylum take away my point of view
Take away my right to choose

These guys were originally The Specials (great music) but reformed into 3, I kinda never much liked their music after The Specials but this tune is good.

I love that you are out making things happen, it’s a wonderful life.
We will all encounter ‘duds’ in various forms if we are sociable creatures, it’s the law of averages or something like that.
2 things, if he really does have this attitude that makes you feel a way, how comes the chemistry?
And, are you just seeing his faults at their worst to aid in ‘getting over it’, if so fair play :)

Moonwalk now please!

I love dancing and have had some incredibly fun encounters on the dancefloor. Mostly with women.
A lot of guys have to have a tank full to get the nerve up to dance.
Then the dancing gets peculiar:)

I was watching something on TV yesterday morning because I’m off work. Sickness and diarrhoea, I’m quite poo-rly.
Anyway so they (tv people) were having a chat about whether there should be an age where you cant wear certain things, leggings on older women being included.
This one woman was championing women’s right to wear what they want at any age. She said ‘it saddens me to see women call other women out for how they look’, referencing an article where a female fashion designer put down a model. I thought yes! We have a winner.
She then said ‘I mean have you seen how that designer looks’.
So she went in the bin lol

Morning guys
I got booted for being offensive I think.
Watching my mouth :)

I remember how rubbish of a learner driver I was.
I couldn’t get over my fear that the car was going to do something I wasn’t making it do. Like it had a ‘life’ of its own.
I started off with a racist instructor and that didn’t work for me. The next instructor was superb and within a few months cracked it. I wouldn’t like to take a test now, so much to do.

We’ve had issues within school of girls and boys having pictures shared around.
I’ve had several kids through my department as a result. Can be devastating for them.

July I’m saying this for you.
Give yourself [first] the upmost respect in every situation.
Get a grip of your emotions and how to manage them.
What you project is what your children will see and learn. You come across mature and compassionate with an ability to reflect, some people never get there.

Rents here in busy towns are extortionate. I’d be paying triple what my mortgage used to be. Don’t fancy that.
Of course I would date a renter, their financial affairs would always be their own.

My manager sometimes brings her little pooch into work. It’s a pug, it’s cute cos it’s all barky when you’re walking away trying to sound like a guard dog but when you turn and face her she runs away. I stepped back on to her the other day and she yelped. Move stupid dog.

Lol yeh, that’s the internet for ya, there is a disdain around using words like friends, nice etc.
We need ever more words to describe the same thing.

It’s always going to be split regarding who pays.
There’s no right or wrong way.
I’m always in my bra or pocket pulling out my card (don’t carry a bag) I’ve been single a long time, its just automatic.

My ma always expected my pa to pay when out but that’s cos he ‘controlled’ the money even though she earned more. Seemed strange to me.

To be fair Pig, most women I know don’t pvssyfoot around telling guys they ‘just want to be friends’ if they don’t wanna date them, they just don’t date them/see them again and tell them why if asked.
I’ve known women use this tactic (not necessarily the word) when they do want to get to know a man better.
