Liberals, at least, know the difference between liberal and conservative, between freedom and facism, between Iraq and Afghanistan, between wealthy and middle class, between lies and truth. . . Shall I go on?

Again, I don't balme you all, but you are sadly misinformed by your choice of infotainment!

All it takes is going to factcheck.org to see that the media, regardless of which network, is not doing its job.

Aside from the truth that McCain was a POW, there wasn't any truth in Palin's speech, did the media challange her on it? No!

This is what I am talking about, that there is even a debate to the integrity of that speech is dismissive of enlightenment. Deceit is destroying our once great Republic!

I do like Olberman, I know he is biased to the right, I don't watch him for news, I watch him for infotainment.

When I search for news, I do it online mostly, because I want to have several viewpoints.

I didn't last week, regarding the Palin cheating thread and the McCain Dress, it wasn't a mistake I often make. . . One has proved slow to develop, the other I didn't check the facts prior to posting. Mea Cupla!

That is why you have no concept of truth and honesty in this forum as well. . . I believe you believe what you are saying, but since your information comes from a tainted source, your information is thus tainted.

Calling you a liar is not productive, but you are sadly misinformed on a great many subjects, as are most "Fox" viewers. I know you are going to assume this is a personal attack, but it isn't, I am giving you the benefit of the doubt. . .

I think he was pretty much an anarchist as well. . . I don't think he worried too much about politics, he seemed content to make a difference in ordinary people who were suffering.

I still love the fact that it was pointed out that he was a community organizer, while Pilot was a governor. . . I wish I had thought of that!

The largest single stroke of Socialism in American History!!!
Posted: 9/9/2008 12:06:13 PM
I was trying to prove a point, that socialism is a nessesary step to preserve a capitalist economy. Capitalism ALWAYS destroys itself due to greed. The concentration of wealth in this country, combined with the erosian of real wages and the increase inflation of serious commodities (primarily energy costs) is what has caused this crisis.

This is what happens during supply side economic policies.

Socialism saved capitalism in the 1930s, it is being revived to save it again as we try to recover from 30 years of SS Econ again!

It isn't the people who bought houses fault, that is pure BS! Owning a home is the first step to financial security, it is also the one part of the American dream that allows the people to share in the wealth of capitalism. The amoratized loan is responsible for home ownership to be possible. Making sure the people have jobs is the responsibility of government! People don't want handouts, they want to be able to take care of their families. PERIOD! If you blame the home owners, you are not a person I would EVER want to know in real life, I don't waste my time on this planet associating with such despicable people!

Do you think that the McCain that went to Vietnam was the same one that came back?
Posted: 9/8/2008 10:23:08 PM
Well, just put it back, since that isn't the topic of the thread. No one questions his patrotism or service, so it is redundant to post the same spin. How about a real discussion for a change?

This is a great topic by O4, which allows us to discuss the condition of our soldiers as they return to society. . . That far exceeds te need for partisianshop, I believe.

No, what I was saying is that it is ironic that the neocons are so against socialism, unless it bails them out.

I defer to Oddandy, when he posts as to whom this benefits. . . I know and trust his knowledge on the mortgage industry exceeds my own.

That's probably why so many of our dear soldiers have done the same. . .

More Viet Nam vets have commited suicide than died in the war. . . So, Viet Nam has claimed over 106,000 American Souls. . .

I think the single greatest thing Democrats can do to ensure the long term viability of our nation is to increase the number of educated Americans. . . The more Americans that become educated, the better off our nation will be each November.

I know this is lost on some, but the United States Government now owns 90% of all American Mortgages. . .

I guess when repubs decide to have a little socialism, they really go all out!

It is a case of the debt being too big to allow it to fail. . . But, it is another case of the wealthy being bailed out by our children. . . Unfortunately, there was no other solution.

I hate that the repubs get a free pass on 9/11, they let America down, but get credit for protecting us?

I guess they are responsible for all the homes that aren't foreclosed on, but Clinton is responsible for the ones that weren't saved?

I guess they are responsible for the peaceful days in Iraq, but Clinton is responsible for the violent ones?

Right wing nuts like Timothy Mcveigh and Osama bin Laden are responsible for so much suffering, how about a little left wing religious values?

Jon (Bongiovi) Bon Jovi also sued a few years ago for a Republican using his music. John is a true family man and believes in the working class. John Mellencamp is another example of the true spirit of liberal thought.

I don't know enough about Heart, Boston or Brown to debate their position, but it was refreshing to hear Jon and John stand up to them!

Wouldn't he still want to be a community organizer?

Are there not still poor, diseased and forgotton people?

I believe he would be upset with the neocons that stand for NONE of his values and he would be disappointed in the Democrats for not doing enough for the aforementioned group that he cared most about.

Yeah, this is spin. Please set the Spin cycle on 9-7-2008, Biden was his opponent. . . Only the pseudo Democrat Benedict Lieberman is supporting McCain, no one who loves their country (all of our citizens) is voting for more of the same greed and bloodlust filled republican (pseudo-republicans) party.

Dmotz, O4 and Oddandy are all old school Republicans. . . I know O4 is sticking with McCain, I think Oddandy is supporting Paul and Dmotz has decided to send his party a message to get back on task. . . All three have shown the critical thinking skill that seem to have been lost by the pseudo-republicans that have destroyed their party from within. . . (you can count my dad in that list as well, who has been moved by Obama in a way I never thought possible!)

Here's to a return of critical thinking skills!

Palin Bombshell about to be exposed?
Posted: 9/7/2008 11:40:04 AM
1st, anyone who thinks that a person beating the Speaker of the House in an election, becomes Speaker of the House, needs a civics lesson!

2nd, NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE, who has a graduate degree, would EVER reduce the signifigance it has in their cognitave abilities. If someone does, they DON'T have the education they claim, PERIOD.

My point for this thread was simply in response to the report I heard. . . I haven't been watching the news, so I don't know if there has been an update. . . I assume there hasn't, since it has kind of wandered about. . . It looks more and more unlikely, as time passes, that the story was accurate. . .

1) Christ was a Liberal. . . I don't think too many people would vote for him, if her were running. . . The right would label him a coward and wimp, saying he would let the terrorists win, and the left, though more closely aligned, simply aren't that far to the left.

2) please read the First Amendment!

3) Yes, a lot of them were Christians, but they had many denominations. They agreed to disagree and didn't want the government sticking its nose in religion, nor religion sticking its nose in government! A lesson we could learn again, I might add!!!

As I said, it is the Enquirer, not exactly the most reputable source, however, they did out Edwards and the Palin kid's pregnancy, so they seem to have done their homework.

McCain's affair is well documented, the hypocracy of the right is also well documented, so I am interested to see what happens. . . I'm sure it will be brushed aside by the right, hell, McCain could get caught in a savings and loan scandal, and probably skate by without getting in trouble with the constituency. . . Oh.......

The Republican Convention 08
Posted: 9/5/2008 9:06:19 PM
Actually it is pretty close to fifty fifty, but it probably feels like 10 to 1 because one side uses facts. . . Hard to compete with those darned facts.

Obama intends on stimulating the economy in the Rust Belt, by helping the big three retool to produce more economical vehicles.

By tripling the Earned income credit for minimum wage workers.

By ruducing the tax burden on the poor and middle class, while increasing it on those who are wealthy.

By bringing the wastefule occupation to a careful close.

By creating tens of thousands of jobs producing alternative energy. By investing in green energy such as Solar and Wind, while allowing safe and reasonable exploration.

These are REAL plans, not the smokescreens of the republicans.

Why is the USA EXPORTING record amounts of oil ?
Posted: 9/5/2008 5:36:19 PM
No, that's not accurate!

It is a shell game.

Oil purchased from a foriegn country, like Saudi Arabia, counts as a tax, as it is paid directly to the foriegn government.

Then, Oil companies may deduct 100% of the cost of said oil from taxes owed to the US government. . .

So, shipping oil from here to Asia, is more profitable, because they get a tax break for imported oil.

Get rid of that tax break, you'll likely see a decline in the oil shipped out!

What do you think the 10,000,000,000,000 debt is? It is an enormous tax on our children! 30,000 per man, woman and child. . .

They don't lower taxes, they shift the wealth to the wealthy making the rich richer for over 30 years, what a great slogan!
