And when I catch said denomination blowing in the wind .. that's instant gratification .

Reminds me of this .....

*One More Minute* by "Weird" Al Yankovic

Well I heard that you're leaving
Gonna leave far behind
'Cause you found a brand new lover
You decided that I'm not your type

So I pulled
Your name out of my Rolladex
And I tore all your pictures in two
And I burned down the malt shop
Where we used to go
Just because it reminds me of you.....

That's right
You ain't gonna see me crying
I'm glad that you found somebody new
'Cause I'd rather spend eternity
Eating shards of broken glass
Than spend one more minute with you.

I know I may seem kinda bitter
You got me feeling down in the dumps
'Cause I'm stranded all alone
In the gas station of love
And I have to use the self-service pump...

Oh so honey,
Let me help you with that suitcase
You ain't gonna break my heart in two
'Cause I'd rather have a hundred-thousand
Paper cuts on my face,
Than spend one more minute with you..

I'd rather rip out my intestines with a fork
Than watch you going out with other men
I'd rather slam my fingers in a door,
Again, and again, and again, and again, and again

Oh can't you what I'm trying to say, darlin'

I'd rather have my blood sucked out by leaches
Or shove an ice-pick under a toe nail or two
I'd rather clean all the bathrooms
In Grand Central Station, with my tongue..
Than spend one more minute with you

I'd rather jump naked on huge pile of thumbtacks
Or stick my nostrils together with Krazy-Glue
I'd dive in a swimming pool filled with
Double-edged razor blades
Than spend one more minute with you

I'd rather rip my heart
Right out of my ribcage
With my bare hands
And throw it on the floor and
Stomp on it till
I die....

Than spend one more minute with you.....

^^^ Was it his first e-mail to you or have you been sending e-mails back and forth with this guy for awhile?

This might have had a bearing on his actions.

I don't know the guy or how he thinks so I can't and won't make a comment on his thought process and the actions he took.

The only thing I will say is that people make decisions based off past experiences and that will determine the actions they do or don't take.

It does appear that you were worth the time for a nasty gram though. LOL

Very hard to be friends with someone who's broken your heart!!

Just what is this "I still want to be friends" comment all about when breaking up.

Is it saying ... we used to have sex but now I'm having sex with others and I can't wait to tell you all about it.

Guess it goes back to the question.... if that's what men REALLY want... then why all the pressure for sex..... I hear it's not just the dogs.... they all want it, but they really don't. Because once they get it, it takes the fun out of the chase......hummmm

I can't speak for others but the way I see it .....

If you're dating someone and an emotional bond is forming ... why rush it ... let it happen naturally when you're both ready .....

So ... either I'm a nice guy or I'm stupid as hell .....

And some guys, want one girl. Just one. Not two, not three, just one. And they want her cookie, and they don't want to share it. They don't want grief over it. They don't want drama. They don't want to kiss continuously for like an hour straight. They just want to go to work and come home to a woman who doesn't nag, but loves him and shows him that she thinks he's important.

Wish I had said that!

It doesn't have the chance to grow into anything if I don't genuinely like them as a person. And even if I am very drawn to them as a person (intellect, personality, character, humor, etc.), but the physical attraction (lust) isn't there- it doesn't have the chance to grow into anything beyond a good friendship.

When a woman has sex with a man, the man is molding her into what pleases him. Then when you have another sex partner, he is completely different, and may hate what you learned to do with the guy before him. Therefore, the sex may be bad at first until she gets "reprogrammed" to this new partner. So a one-time sexual experience with someone may not really define what it could be if it is practiced over time.

Reprogram is a harsh word to use. Everyone is different and responds to different stimuli. The key is to find those differences .

It works both ways.

Any man worth a damn will also allow himself to be * reprogramed * into what pleases her.

Just my opinion, I could be wrong

Standards. We've all got them, don't we?
Posted: 1/3/2010 2:56:53 PM

Why do you have to always consider it male bashing just because it's a woman giving her opinion. Everyone knows it goes both ways. I'm sure there are men on here that feel the same way that the lady above feels. If you're not that type of a man then why take it personal as male bashing.

I don't post often on here anymore like I did back in the day (several years ago) when people were considerate. Everyone has a right to their own opinion. I feel the forums are not very popular anymore because a certain few who post on here always have to pick apart the person post instead of giving them some good honest advice

Isn't that calling the kettle black.

Saying it was male bashing was an opinion as well.

That's my opinion ...... I could be wrong.

^^^^IMHO- I think he was saying that maybe he has been on POF for a number of years and after dating someone a couple times-they want to be just friends and nothing further. IMHO- he might want someone to go to movies, go out to dinner, enjoy each others company and develope a relationship. He probably has hosts and hosts of friends and is tired of just adding one more and no hope of developing a relationship.

I think of standards being the same as morals.

If you're making a list, I think you're doing an injustice to yourself. You'll either not set your limits high enough or your limits will be set so high that no one will ever be able to reach them. Either way you'll be disappointed.

Dating and relationships are difficult and confusing as it is. I think the more you read and see different views on them, it will only add more confusion when trying to analyze and interpret their meaning.

You know what your morals are, what you will and won't tolerate in a dating or more serious relationship. Your heart may be broken or your heart may be made complete, there are no guarantees.

I'd try Columbus Percussion Center first, fantastic store that I highly recommend. They know their trade! I bought my new kit from them about 9 months ago.

Another possiblity is and this may sound odd, Guitar Center. Then any of the local music stores.

If they don't offer lessons, they probably know of people that do.
