Can anyone explain to me why the Free State of Ireland which went 100% into the EU including adoption of the currency ,unlike Britain, seems to have faired very well since doing so ,while Britain has not.

O you can't have it tonight.
The m0on is shining bright.
And the stars are twinkling in the sky.
Some silly sucker is watching you and I.
So let's go round the corner and have a bit on the sly.

Race horses and greyhound dogs are raised and exist only because they have the potential to be decent racehorses or dogs.If racing were banned their numbers would quickly diminish.

If you look at it realistically the U.S. is undergoing a similar drought of innovation ,which is only going to be worsened by our current presidents assault on immigrant,s who have driven U.S. innovation.

Does it pay for dating websites to find you someone ?
Posted: 7/22/2018 4:06:34 PM
Dating sites do NOT provide you someone to date,at least none I have ever seen do.They provide you with a menu from which YOU get to pick someone that might pique your interest, that still does not guarantee your pick will be interested in you.

Wind turbines. a blade broke.
Posted: 9/29/2013 7:53:32 PM
I don't know where the dailymail got their information regarding shutting down thousands of wind turbines in the USA but as far as I,m concerned it is not true.We had a shutdown of Siemens manufactured wind turbines when one of them threw a blade some 200 yards fortunately no one was injured,Siemens temporarily slowed or shut down all turbines of the same type.We also had another temporary shutdown in the Spring of turbines in the Pacific Northwest because between the turbines and the power generated by the hydro from excessive snow melt they were over producing electric until the snow melt abated.

Too young to know better???

They should hold the PARENTS of that 9 year who burglarized a house and stole the car crashing it responsible.Had the child been brought up properly and taught values that would not have occurred. If they are receiving public assistance cut it and pay the difference to the person who suffered the loss until the debt is settled.Sadly this would punish all family members but it might also drive some sense into the parents.

Kids with Guns
Posted: 3/29/2013 9:19:18 PM
We here in the States have millions with legal guns who are not safe with a pocket knife.Accounting for why we have 10,000 to 12,000 gun homicides each year and another 17,000 or so gun suicides. It is projected that by 2015 gun deaths will exceed auto related deaths.

A question about overseas relationships
Posted: 1/15/2013 8:03:59 PM
Until you meet in person you really don't have any real idea of who and what you are dealing with. Many people here on the internet post fake pictures and profiles. What you believe to be a 30 year old female can turn out to be a 65 year old man ,and any other combination of switches you can think of.No one should ever ,ever send money or anything else of value until absolutely in person of being sure who you are dealing with. Also for an initial in person meeting always meet in a VERY public setting with plenty of people around. The internet is loaded with scams and cons. of every kind.

You have absolutely no idea if the picture posted really belongs to the poster.Until you actually meet face to face you have no idea who you are dealing with. This is why you should always meet in a very open public location, you can never be too careful.

Hope you're all doing okay in New York and all those affected by Hurricane Sandy.
Posted: 11/2/2012 8:47:17 PM
Thank you very much for your kind wishes.I am in Pennsylvania in an area which also got hit rather badly as far as downed trees and power lines but nothing compared to New York and New Jersey. The areas closest to the ocean got by far the worst due to the storm surge pushing water and sand up to a mile plus inland pushing many homes off their foundations and throwing boats and autos on top of each other.Major problem now is a lack of power so gas stations can't pump gas needed to power chain saws and generators and of course autos. It will take a few years to get things back to a semi normal state of affairs with many places altered forever.

Online you have absolutely no idea if the picture you are looking at is of the person who has posted it,you are going on the belief that it is.Many people post really old pictures of themself from maybe 15-20 years ago.An online picture is no guarantee of what you see is what you'll get.

New and Improved at 66?
Posted: 3/8/2012 8:54:16 PM
I have yet to see anyone that looked better after plastic surgery amongst the nations so called celebrities.Whether it be Joan Rivers,Goldie Hawn,Kenny Rogers,Bruce Jenner and some of the women like Lisa Renna who enhanced their lips or any of the others who appear on TV who have had surgery.Pam Anderson used to be a beautiful woman but the alterations she has had have only downgraded her appearance. If celebrities with the money they have cannot get good surgery it should be a warning to all us regular people.
