Vlad.
"Good auld days. Very innocent in a way wasnt it? I find the t'interweb to be more brutal now. What dost thou think? "

It WAS very innocent because it was`nt a dating site, i think that made all the difference, It was just what the label said ( make friends online ), and i did, many friends, met quite a few too!, i do miss those days.

These days, well, i have no social media, stopped using f/book years ago, got fed up with it very quickly after joining, todays internet is nowhere near as good as it was back then ( only my personal opinion ).

Vlad,
" Another alter ego is my las vegas singer is Barry Guy. It was a user name when i first went on online dating. Meet fiends online (make friends online to be fair) "

I had a great 8 or 9 years on mfo, great site back in the day, before they sold it, and it became a paid site, went down hill very very fast from there, i was on the " 40`s board " . Great bunch of friends, and great meets too! :O)

If your house was on fire what would you save?
Posted: 9/11/2018 9:46:21 AM
Oh i dont care about my phone roxy, I only carry it when driving, in case of breakdown etc, I hate phones, everytime i`m out, i`m surrounded by phone zombies, i wont go into the number of times i`ve almost run someone over due to them walking while staring into their phones.

The one thing about your life that people find odd
Posted: 8/26/2018 5:25:47 PM
It is indeed swings and roundabouts, I think the same can be said for small flats Vs regular houses. . . small flat = fairly easy on maintainance (Keeping clean and tidy etc ), . . . A regular house on the other hand can be somewhat more of a handful, plus there`ll be a garden that has to be forever maintained to council standards etc etc, bit more awkward when working, so there is deffinitely a significant comparison between the two. But, at the end of the day, it all comes down to what works for you is`nt it. :O)

"People find it odd I rent rather then get a mortgage. I think they’re the odd ones"

I would`nt call anyone odd for wanting to own a home, but, likewise i have also been renting for about 30+ yrs now, and there IS much to be said for it, in the past 5/6 yrs, my council house has had a complete new roof, new kitchen, which included knocking two rooms into one, new radiators, and new windows.

I`m no builder, but i dont think i would have had much change out of £30k for that lot, had i been the owner.

What would you not do for a million quid?
Posted: 8/12/2018 11:50:53 AM
Not such a cut and dried question as it appears is it ?, I mean, we all have SOMEthing to which we have an aversion ( or multiple of even ),

For example, i, like yourself dont like heights ( never even been on a plane ), BUT, if i knew there was a million quid waiting for me down on the ground....who knows what we`re capable of with the right motivation, So, i cant actually say there`s anything that i would`nt do for a million.

favourite decade of music
Posted: 10/4/2017 10:26:22 PM
Although i was born in 63, my fav decades have always been the later 50`s and the 60`s, my all time fav group will always be Hank and the lads ( The shadows ),

Really enjoyed the variety of the 70`s, Bay city rollers, paper lace ( billy dont be a hero etc ), sweet, slade, and absolutely not forgetting ( towards the later 70`s ) the emergence of dire straits of whom i`ve been a steady fan since.

From the 80`s onwards, its really been a case of the odd song now and then, to my mind, it became a flood of boy/girl bands, music has`nt grabbed me quite the same since, its all too manufactured (BGT ...the X factor etc ).

( Nice to see a thread worth posting on for a change, was beginning to despair of lurking ) . :O)

Summer of 76
Posted: 6/22/2017 9:53:37 PM
1976 ...Ahhhh those were the days !, having to go up to the water trailer and fill bottles, saucepans, anything we could carry ,

"I was twenty-one and a half, and working nights at British Leyland, in the "trim-shop", with all the cackling ladies sewing the seats for the "Maxi", and the new, ground-breaking, cheese-shaped "Princess". " ..

Jo, to this day, in my 27 yrs driving, I have yet to drive a more comfy car than the princess/ambassador, ( I`ve had both ) despite them being generally disliked, :O)

Most embarsssing thing thats happened to someone else?
Posted: 5/12/2017 8:27:08 PM
No question about it, that would be an instance years ago, having been chatting to a woman online for quite some time, messages tended to get occasionally a bit "risque" ...one night, on hitting send on a text, i immediately realised i`d sent it to my boss, who was the next name in my phone list on my phone.

For weeks afterwards, he`d smirk as we walked past each other ....B**tard hahahahaha :O)

In my case , "huge" is....anne nicole smith ( dead now) ...katie price (Jordan), personaly, i`ve never understood why so many guys rave about them,

Edit ..3 of the last 5 messages are mine, yet i did`nt have the 2 in 10 rubbish ? ...whoo whoooo i`m immune ! :O)

" Seriously? (scratches head) ... like, would you prefer a totally flat bosom? "

Its never bothered me, it takes more than a pair of boobs to make a woman. I like a nice shapely ass as much as the next man, i`ve just never been turned on by huge boobs, each to their own and all that :O)

Roasted or toasted cheese
Posted: 5/9/2017 12:28:16 AM
@ Patricia,
"red or brown? " ... i`ve tried both, but the red does`nt work well, Just a hint of brown, i dip the knife into the bottle rather than pour it, too much over powers the taste of the egg and cheese :O)

Roasted or toasted cheese
Posted: 5/8/2017 11:25:05 PM
My fav cheesy snack, is egg n cheese,

using a 6" frying pan, crack an egg, give it a quick mix ( not whisk) cook it until its stable enough to flip over without breaking , cook the other side for about 30 seconds, then flip back over, Then, on the one half, place 2 slices of cheese, carefully fold the other side over, so you have a half moon affair, with cheese inside, keep flipping every 20 seconds or so, for a minute or two, to soften ( not melt) the cheese.

Its lush !! :O)

unfulfilled aspirations
Posted: 4/22/2017 11:24:35 AM
By the time i was 17, i`d learnt that i was unfit for military service, ( hearing issues), i`m 54 now, and it still stings. I know of military connections in my family, going back to the boer war ( 2 of mams great uncles), ww1, ( mams dad and uncle), ww2 ( mams brother, burma), So i was pretty gutted at not being able to continue that connection with a career.

Age...
Posted: 3/29/2017 10:49:16 PM
If the attraction is there, i`d happily consider 10 yrs older, or younger ( Dad was 10 yrs older than Mam, and they lasted 28 yrs ), Any younger than 10 yrs, and ( personally) i`d feel a bit of a cradle snatcher.

I`ve never been one to allow distance to be an issue, My last relationship, albeit a long time ago now, was in dundee, ( I`m in south wales) so quite a yomp, 8 - 10 hours each way, every 2 weeks ,

more recently a few months back, i drove 70 miles ( an hour +20 ) for a coffee and meet sort of thing,

The point is i think, it means different things to different people does`nt it.
