do u think there should be laws about parents having equal shared custordy
Posted: 9/26/2007 2:47:45 PM
I think it also should be taken into account that most kids will exploit the situation.
It's a natural thing that kids do. Kid's are ruthless in some respects.
I don't think many people will see worse ongoing cruelty than they saw or experienced in primary school.

Kid's will play one parent against another for every advantage they can, often they have no idea at how effective they are, because of how down you are.

The guilt trip that almost all parents go on after separation is as plain as day to most astute , intelligent kids. They also pick up that they can get away with a lot more because parents aren't so quick to pull them up out of fear of being the "Bad" parent.

They love their parents more than anything in the world but just haven't quite developed the empathy skills most,,, (a lot),,,,(some),,,adults have.

The separation is hard on kids but they bounce back a lot quicker than we think.
It's the ongoing battle between Mum and Dad that causes most of the damage and insecurity.

Police Treatment of APEC Protesters - Heavy Handed or Not

Well, to get some sort of relativity here, let's see how the people currently protesting in Burma get treated, compared to our poor, hard done by APEC protesters.

^^^
This is the farmer sowing his corn,
That kept the c*ck that crowed in the morn,
That waked the priest all shaven and shorn,
That married the man all tattered and torn,
That kissed the maiden all forlorn,
That milked the cow with the crumpled horn,
That tossed the dog,
That worried the cat,
That killed the rat,
That ate the malt
That lay in the house that Jack built.

do u think there should be laws about parents having equal shared custordy
Posted: 9/24/2007 11:55:38 PM
^^^the old saying that "It takes two to tango" simply isn't true.
It doesn't ring true with neighbours, relatives and someone you're bonded with for life because you share children.
In these cases and probably others, you have to "Tango" or get run over and abused constantly.

I've had a couple of relationships since separation that have made me realise I was just lucky to get the type of person my Ex is.
I'm not sure how I could have coped with dealing with the small minded, unreasonable, unfair, illogical outlook of one Ex girlfriend. I was amazed and still am at her reaction when our relationship ended.

My heart goes out to those who've been more unlucky than anything else to have fallen in love, blinded by love hormones, and had kids with someone like that.

You don't really know someone till you break up with them.
Some of us are just luckier/unluckier than others.

The Ex and myself wrote nothing about anything, including the kids.

We'd seen a few couples go through divorce and, in my opinion, knew what 99% of lawyers know.
That is, that 99% of all the evidence you pay 20 to 60 thousand to write in affidavits over years, is fluff. All those nasty little allegations and claims and counter claims and denials.,,,,,,,all mean next to nothing.
In my opinion, most actually get told it's fluff by their council on the day of the court appearance. (It's a shame that all aren't told that the day they walk into the office)

In our case, we just took it as things came. Life is far too unpredictable after separation to make any long term specific plans about custody.

It's a whole new kettle of fish if the parents are still at war.
No matter what gets written down on a piece of paper, no matter what laws they make, or threats or punishment, nothing is going to change. The kids will pay.

I was bored and did some browsing in Harvey Norman this morning.

I was soooo tempted by those 50" plazma's that are so reasonable now.

But, would that mean my d*^$ would be in inverse proportion to the toy?
