2 years on POF? should I give up the search?
Posted: 11/12/2012 11:07:09 PM
The reason why you aren't getting anyone you see fit is because you have nothing in your profile and no pics. Your profile looks exactly like the ones of the guys who message me for one-nighters or casual. A quality profile = quality people. I've been here just as long as you and trust me, it works.

Ok People question What Is Your Real Opinion On Marijuana?
Posted: 11/12/2012 10:59:25 PM
It is highly beneficial and is illegal because the legalization of hemp would severely cripple the cotton, lumber, and pharmeceutical industries.

It cures glaucoma, helps cancer patients, anxiety without killing the kidneys.... Alcohol kills way more people from overdosing and drunk driving yet is legal.

Are you kidding me? there's nothing but a bunch of goofy letters, you only sent out 3 messages, and you obviously are impatient. YOU have to send out more AFTER writing your profile. Girls expect it.

Profile review... I have tried different things but really had no luck. Is this all a waste of time
Posted: 9/16/2012 10:49:00 AM
Are you kidding me? you have nothing but "da bears" in your profile and a few iffy pics and you are wondering why? Also oyu look a lot younger than 24 so that may be it. Try some more mature pics.

turn offs or red flags in first conversations
Posted: 9/15/2012 11:06:37 AM
Why is this just in the ask a guy category? it's a great question for everyone!

Poor spelling or grammar, flirting, trying to be all tough and putting things in your profile like: "if you don't like what you see then move the hell on" such aggression is pointless and unattractive. Also vagueness such as someone saying they want a nice girl/guy, fun.

Posted: 9/15/2012 11:02:43 AM
Your profile is sooooooooo vague. You put things like "nice girl, values" like what? religion? charities? Put up what you do, what you like to do, what you want to do.

Actually write what you want instead of making a mold any woman can fill into. Also, it would help if you had pics up with you maybe dressed up, or with other people.

natural beauty vs make up
Posted: 9/11/2012 2:47:35 PM
For a lot of people, makeup is a form of expression. Not to cover anything up, but to create something new. Then you have those people like me who have foundation on because their skin is so sun sensative.

Men's attitudes to women's work
Posted: 8/7/2012 3:43:47 PM
Yeah actually i get that a lot too. The really sad thing is, I don't got to lunch the same time every day because nothing is ever scheduled the same. Sometimes I go at 11, sometimes 3. Guys get mad when you have to say no because you are working, or have no clue when you can get off. You are right to feel flustered because they are not thinking about your schedule.

Events in Huntsville?

I just moved to Huntsville and there are some intriguing places to go out and meet people, but I was wondering if there were any events planned. If not, then why not have a small group plan something?

Ladies, please help
Posted: 6/24/2012 1:12:27 PM
I am in the Navy, may make a career out of it, and am NOT LOOKING FOR A CONTRACT MARRIAGE. I want a real relationship, not someone who wants me for my money or benefits. If that's what you want, go somewhere else.

^^ take all that out. Nobody likes being told "if you don't like it, move on" that is negative and kind of rude. There is a difference between honest and rude. Also, give it some time. Everyone whines they get no replies, and they've been here for 3 days.

Should I go for dating or GFE escort
Posted: 6/23/2012 8:35:37 PM
I know you asked for a man's opinion, but the reason you can't get a date is you have no confidence. dating is nerve wrecking and I think you should try just being friends with some girls first to get comfortable, then just ask one out. Rejection is a part of life and being scared of it is useless.

Your whole profile is a billboard for what NOT to do on POF. No girl wants a**** Alcholic gambling douchebag. You need to take out the grocery list of does and don'ts , take out how much you drink, and add a few pics. I swear it's like you were trying too hard to make the most unapproachable profile ever.

Just ignore. I hate how some people whine "it's just rude not to message back!" well it gets your hopes up and waste your time to get back a response, then find out it is a rejection.

messages that say nothing
Posted: 6/8/2012 7:28:01 PM
I agree, if you just want someone to chat with then say "hi, would you like to chat?" or "just looking for someone to talk to." When someone just says "hi" they are saying nothing. Hi is a waste of messaging space. I will always respond even if I am not interested top a few sentences just because they took the time unless they clearly are disreguarding crucial elements of my profile.

I think it's interesting how you argue and degrade everyone because we are not all med students. You're right, we may not have your IQ or other credentials, but we have an honest 3rd party perspective. Also, how can you say we have no right to judge someone we don't know? this is the internet, we don't know anyone we talk to most of the time. Why did you ask a question if you didn't want a real answer? when you ask for reality, you get it. I'm 22 and mature enough to know this won't work and to know if I ask advice and people 30+ give it to me then i listen. Be ignorant, upset, and childish. It is your life and not ours.

How do I handle this
Posted: 5/28/2012 12:11:08 AM
All of this especially:

Ive also asked him questions before where he goes into long drawn out responses and they never make any sense to the question that I asked. Its like hes giving me a paragraph answer to a question that could be answered with one sentence and I have to find my answer somewhere in his long drawn out response. The answer also never makes any sense. I believe he is purposely doing this to play games and make me upset, beat around the bush or take me for a fool.

Is a sign he's cheating and playing games. My dad did that a lot. Best thing is to let him go, he clearly doesn't respect you and thinks you are as dumb as he is. Get a real man.

Unfortunately even with age gaps of just 10 years, a man and woman are on 2 different wavelengths. Rarely do they meet up. Keep in mind he is about to get into his midlife crisis years and even the most esteemed intellectuals can go nuts. Yes you are in your 20's but when he's 46 and you're 31, at home with both your kids, he's going to be looking for another 20 year old. Old habits never die.

Reasons for rejection?
Posted: 5/22/2012 10:36:20 PM
Ah yes, another guy suffering from "Nice Guy syndrome." Take out all the stuff about how you are nice, fun, caring, etc. That's like any store talking about good quality and cheap prices. Generic adjectives never suit anyone. I suggest you put things like: adventurous, genial, well-mannered, traditional.

Why is it guys only want sex??
Posted: 5/22/2012 10:33:13 PM
Honestly, a lot of guys don't read profiles. It doesn't matter what you write even if they do, "it never hurts to ask" is a common motto on here. Also, you are an attractive Latina with a good body so you can expect nasty messages and it would help to take this out:

Ive been called a "runner" because Im not known for sticking around very long. I dont get attached easily, so if something seems off rather than work on it my first inclination is to leave.

big "no" to some honest guy looking for a long term gf or potential wife.

should you keep on pursuing someone who has moved on? no
is she worth it? obviously not
why are you on here if you are not seriously considering other girls? I dunno, that's the best option.

Padded Bras??? And Why Do You Wear Them???
Posted: 5/19/2012 10:19:00 PM
My boobs are tender a lot so I have padding because if they get accidentally knocked into like back in high school with our overcrowded hallways I won't feel that jolt of pain and odd hurting numbness. Some girls can buy them with too much padding, but for the most part they look ok.

You get a ton of messages because you are gorgeous, have the girls out of your top in almost every picture, have party pics, and talk about how much fun you want to have.

on this site, fun=sex. You need to write a more adult profile about what you hope to get out of life, music & other likes, what about kids? You have written your profile to where you sound like you are easy and just looking for sex. I imagine you didn't mean it that way but take out a good chunk of it and elaborate on the part where you want a man to take charge. Specify not in the bedroom.

In order to change settings: go to Edit profile, mail settings.

Oh, I'm not aware of what I did exactly to get this. I never name people specifically by username, I don't start many threads and I make sure they don't repeat, what exactly have I done so I can avoid doing it in the future?

Calling people morons and telling people to shut up might be part of the problem on top of excessive road tripping. As stated earlier I would recommend that you try to use your 5 posts a day to establish a good posting history at which time this issue may be reviewed.

Boyfriend is 27 Years Old His Grandma Grounds him
Posted: 5/17/2012 9:21:01 PM
I can imagine he is living with her at the age of 27 and seeing as he is in her house, he should respect her. If you are seeing him at her house, you need to respect her. He probably did something dumb and childish so he is getting a dumb and childish punishment. Obviously she doesn't like you which may have something to do with the way you talk to and about her.

Posted: 5/16/2012 9:46:04 AM
It's not "transphobia", I agree. I want a man. A man born a man, with man parts. No different than wanting a guy with a certain hair color, skin color. It is just what you are attracted to. This is classic PC syndrome where it is taboo to talk about something that may hurt someone's feelings. If they are not ashamed to be transgender or transsexual then have another category.

Profile pointers / Messaging advice

Chat is different actually. Chat is more relaxed and i suggest only chatting with a girl you have successfully messaged. There you can start with hi, hey, hello, etc. Don't get too free with chat though you still need to exercise manners.
