To focus on better serving our members, we've decided to shut down the POF forums.

What words should be banned from profiles?

Type.

Women tend to be too narrow minded when it comes to this. Maybe the reason a lot of ladies are on here is because the "type" they go for isn't working out for them

I've already mentioned the new WITTR album on another thread and my favourite Black Metal band - Blut aus Nord - have a trilogy of albums out this year. It's all good.

Why are most new rock bands terrible?
Posted: 9/16/2011 12:39:35 PM
The new Wolves in the Throne Room album absolutely kills. You just have to search harder for quality nowadays. Most of the great bands out there are a bit more underground or obscure.

Sorry but that is balls. What about roadworks and traffic jams. How much is your car going then.

The people who moan about the railways are the people who don't know how to use them properly.

It would depend on how we met. If at work yes because that's where virtually all my relationships have started. Otherwise no.

Where's the real fawking metal??
Posted: 3/24/2010 2:09:58 PM
Death Metal is so yawnsome, I just do not get the appeal. Chugga, chugga yawn, yawn. In terms of sheer power and heaviness a band like Neurosis (the metal band with the greatest body of work in the history of the genre) blows them all away.

Two bands i've been listening to a lot over the last couple of years:
The Ruins of Beverast
Wolves in the Throne Room

High quality Black Metal.

feeling jaded
Posted: 3/19/2010 6:22:25 AM
Dunno about that. I met someone last year and she said she was getting four or five emails a day. I can understand ladies not replying to every contact with those numbers.
The way I see it, with the ratio of women to men being so much in the ladies favour I just think blokes have to suck it up, accept the rejections and just be positive. I personally have not been on this site much in the last six months so I also think taking a break on occasion is necessary. And I don't take rejections seriously anyway, it's only a photo. Not real.

Agreessive English Women?
Posted: 3/21/2009 2:19:29 PM

Men do have to work so much harder to be attractive to us ladies.

That`s it though, men who try too hard just look gay. And yet time and again I see attractive women dating men who probably spend more time in front of the mirror than they do. Y`know, the sort who wear scarves without a jacket.

also that there are so many more guys than girls on here!

Forum meets and why Im nervous about attending
Posted: 1/3/2009 3:21:25 PM

Well the music tends to be so loud on these meets you would need to shout so no reason to panic, very little of talking goes on especially after few drinks

So, just like any other night out in other words. How tempting.

What does online rejection do to you?

It`s only a superficial rejection so i don`t care. I don`t photograph well so i`m always starting off from an unpromising position.

Barcelona best soccer team in the world?
Posted: 7/8/2008 3:26:28 PM

without Ronaldo Utd would not have won anything last season

And? Without Maradona Argentina wouldn`t have won the `86 World Cup. What possible relevence has that got to do with anything. And i suppose all our homegrown players don`t count - Giggs, Scholes, Neville, Beckham - nah they don`t count because they don`t fit the half baked argumant you`ve come up with. Boo Hoo.

When was the last time your club won the Champions League? You`re from London so i`m gonna guess er never. ha ha.

Manchester United reporting to FIFA............
Posted: 7/8/2008 3:18:01 PM
Thing is though, and this is what is getting United`s fans annoyed - Real Madrid are in no way shape or form a bigger club than Manchester United. Yes, United poach players from other teams, but it`s always from smaller clubs and ultimately footballers in general want to play for the biggest club they can find. Madrid only have the money to pay for something like this because they are part bankrolled and have been since Franco`s days by the Spanish Government.

If ever a sporting ranchise deserved the moniker "Evil Empire" it is Real Madrid, not the New York Yankees.

Evolving and moving forward

Jebus, that is the most deluded thing i`ve ever read on any forum. They play radio friendly mainstream soft rock and have done since the mid 1980s. How the hell have they evolved?

I saw them headline the Donington monsters of Rock festival in `87 and I wanted to tear my face off with the boredom.

Saw them at the Apollo in Manchester in March. They were really good. They are a band it takes quite a few listens to appreciate. Their second album in particular - Frances the Mute -
I didn `t get for ages but it`s now in my all-time top 10.

Toolgressive bands

Tool hit the mainstream and so are gonna be more influential than heavier and for me more progressive outfits like Isis, Jesu and Pelican. Out of like twenty potential bandmates only one or two may have heard of the latter bands whereas they all would have heard Tool.

Smoking Ban on the eve of 1st July
Posted: 5/22/2007 1:59:02 PM
I work on a Railway Station and i`ve given up smoking because basically it`ll be too much hassle to continue once the ban kicks in. So, ultimately the ban will be really effective in getting people to quit, which justifies it despite the draconian way it was introduced.
