Humans created by Aliens: Plausible theory?
Posted: 11/24/2008 8:04:55 PM
Somebody's reading too much Ian Douglas!
Must make a correction. The Annunikai - aka An did not create humanity. That was done about a million years prior by the Builders who operated from a base on Mars which they were attempting to terraform. They were in the process of genetically uplifting Homo erectus into the archaic Homo sapiens when the Xul- aka "Hunters of the Dawn" struck and wiped them out. The Xul which is Sumarian for ghoul or demon also smashed the reptilian An which colonized and exploited the human population of ancient Earth.
It's called the Predatory Survival Hypothosis. Explains why the silence of the stars is deafening. There's nobody else out there other than the Xul because they are systematically exterminating any technologically advanced life they encounter. We've so far managed to escape their notice- namely because the galaxy is a big place to cover and our ever expanding bubble of radio noise has yet to reach the nearest Xul listening post. When it does- they'll be back!
Woooooooooooooooooooooohooooooo!

What is it about the Pleiades
Posted: 11/24/2008 7:40:00 PM
The Pleiades are blue-white supergiant stars. Probably too young to have planets with complex life and they will also burn hot and fast and not last long enough for such life to evolve. Before the Pleiades became fashionable- extraterrestrials used to show up from every planet in our solar system! Saturn was a popular one.

Good thread. Quite a few of the people on here have good knowledge of astronomy and planetary science!

What are women really looking for in a man?

With times getting harder, the competition between gold diggers for a dwindling supply of wealthy males is likely to intensify. Things could get interesting.

It's easy to understand where this lady is coming from when you consider our last few election cycles. I think it was John Kerry who put the term "metrosexual" on the map in 04. And look what we've got to choose from this time around now that the power chick in the pant suit has bowed out:
A senile country club man and Jimmy Carter II.

Is this a serious thread or just something to raise the hackles of traditional minded folks? You could have done it better. Get yourself a girlfriend who is bi and go out to pick up other girls. Then you could set up cameras and tape everything and go into the porn business!

Martian Ice Discovered
Posted: 6/21/2008 8:38:57 PM
Melt it and you have drinking water and irrigation for plants inside artificial habitats, a source of oxygen for breathing and hydrogen for rocket fuel! In the short term this valuable resource will make possible for humans to inhabit Mars. In the long term it might even be possible to thaw these frozen reserves and return Mars to it's primordial state of a warmer, moister world on which a terrestrial ecosystem can be established and eventually shirt sleeve habitability for humans!

Guy- you're right because she was the one who asked for the date, she's wrong because she's making a federal case over two bucks- which you could have recipricated on a future date. But it's better to let it go. You don't want a spoiled little witch for a girlfriend- or worse still- a mate!

Always called a freak
Posted: 5/16/2008 9:12:10 AM
Don't feel so bad. Last year I had a date with this ditzy chick- a 37 year old Valley Girl from Hell! She later called me a "wierdo" and said that I was freakishly weird. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black! There are quite a few mean people in this world. Life in general is mean and people tend to treat those of us who are on the outside looking in- be you looking for Love, a Job, or trying to beg permission to do something- quite badly.

Let him see you at your best. Keep talking to him. Flirt a little. Then come to work on a Friday with your hair done and change into something really nice and let him think you might be going out for a hot date. It might work for you. It worked on me once!

Unfortunately my crush was going out for real.
Don't have to be dramatic about it. And you are already looking around on here so you're at least halfway there. Have fun. And you never know- maybe you'll find a few other crushes who crush back!

Hillary Threatens to Obliterate Iran
Posted: 5/4/2008 10:40:39 PM
Apparently she's looking to pick a fight with China too- the way she's talking tough about outsourcing of American jobs and critical defense techology to them- only what she doesn't talk about was that it was her husband who made all that possible back in the 90s- trading away our security. Shady deals verging on treason. Could it be now from putting her finger to the political winds and finding that lots of people are angry over jobs lost to China as well as anxiety over that nation's growing military might- that Hillary has found a perfect boogyman?- and also a way to cover her husband's tracks by starting a war. Then China will be an enemy and anything they might reveal
about the Clintons can just be shrugged off as propaganda lies. Wagging the dog once more!

As for Iran- I think Israel can take care of itself. We might not have to do anything because the Israelis will vaporize Tehran if they ever pull something like that.

Remember when you were a man????
Posted: 4/28/2008 2:16:13 PM
People are so nit picky about things. They are insulted if you do, insulted if you don't. People say they are for social equality and look down on their fellow man. Politicians preach to the common folk about doing their part to save the planet while they ride around in private jets. Feminists pontificate about the financial and emotional independence of women, then turn around and marry millionaires.

With all this hypocrisy in the world- why bother walking on eggshells for anyone? If if it feels good, just do it and don't worry about what others think. And maybe you ought to stop expecting others to second guess what you find pleasing or appropriate. Both you and the world will be happier for it!

Men who ride Harleys
Posted: 3/9/2008 11:27:03 AM
Sometimes you have to delay gratification. A good foreign bike like Honda or Suzuki will give you something to ride and get experience with. Many of my friends have done that. HD rocks- but why kill yourself financially just for a status symbol that you can get later on if you really want it?

In a way, delaying gratification can be more gratifying in the end. You have more money to put towards other things and still get to enjoy the adventure of being out on the road.
As for the wanabee biker chicks out there- if they want to ride that badly- maybe they should get their own.

You shoved him into the "Just Freinds" category- then it got hot and heavy so he figured he'd take advantage of the opportunity and then ran. gun control in the usa
Posted: 2/17/2008 1:37:14 PM
Oh pleeeeese! Gun control like drug laws and virtually every government initiative to control or restrict something is a joke. Washington DC became the murder capital in part because of gun laws. And why do you think weapon smuggling and gangs are becoming big business in Canada as well as other nations where strict gun laws are the norm? Because honest law abiding people are disarmed and easy pickings for thugs.

That's the way most gun control advocates want it. Why? Because they and the thugs are in a way fellow travelers. Indeed a good many of those who don't want private ownership of weapons also don't like private property, and unbridled personal freedoms and they know they would meet a lot of resistance from an armed populace if they ever got as far as they would like to get with us in their deepest darkest dreams.

Furthermore- those of you who think that you will be safer if everyone other than police or soldiers gave up their arms- think again. 6 million Jews and others who died in the nazi death camps and even more who were genocided by communist bloc nations and many a Third World despot would argue otherwise - if they could!

Rejected once again
Posted: 2/15/2008 9:49:54 PM
Bumbed out? Tell me about it! But hang in there, new prospects will be coming along all the time. Read some books or do internet research to get a better handle on understanding women and relationships, get more social exposure, learn from your mistakes, take a break every now and then if you have to and whatever you do- keep your standards high.

Other advice- get out- do stuff- have fun- get in shape- travel- take up new things- learn all the good places to eat- wineries- concert halls- hiking trails- horseback riding- dance halls etc are in your area- go to these places and do things even by yourself- not only will you have fun- you'll pick up new skills that make you a more appealing guy and also have a long list of fun activities to offer for a date- and who knows- you might even meet someone at one of these places!

Valentine's Day

Had to revist this thread again just to see if there were any more positive comments other than my own. There are now a few more. I will not likely have a date for Valentine's Day and I'm also working anyways. But next year I will.
In the meantime I will just send out a few cards - both real and virtual to a few people I know just because I feel like doing something that I really haven't done in ages. Like since grade school when we used to send out cards to classmates and it was no big deal back then.
Happy Valentine's Day to all!

Do you think there should be laws against people who trick you into sexual encounters!
Posted: 1/18/2008 7:59:18 PM
That's all we need- another law or regulation to have to worry about. If we're going to punish guys for tricking a girl into an intimate encounter- then why not laws to punish girls for leading someone on with the promise of sex or anyone stringing someone along for the remote hope of a relationship? Where would it end. As frustrating as this is now, it would not be worth the loss of freedom in exchange for an elusive promise to make the world a better place.

Now on the other hand, a law to hold politicians responsible for keeping their promises. as another contributer suggested- sounds rather appealing!

where have the old fashioned values gone
Posted: 1/13/2008 4:38:06 PM
Without freedom there can be no virtue. So those of you out there take heart- If you want to be a good and moral person because of your own convictions and wisdom makes you a far better person than someone who's being good only because of fear of hellfire at the end of time!

Not to say you can't be a rebel and defy the system in the pursuit of personal happiness as well as standing up for what is right. There is no reason why we cannot have both. On one hand it is good to have standards. On the other it is bad when people try to use the same to secure power over others thru guilt and shaming.

The choice is yours, but I'm thinking it might feel good for you & #2 if you got together and warned #3- possibly sparing her the financial ruin and heartache this charismatic ****oach inflicted on you. Revenge is often cited as counter-productive- but in this case I believe it is practical and justified. No one else deserves the hell that he put you thru and he deserves to be taken down in a way that is within the bounds of the law and there is nothing illegal about blowing up his next scheme. And there is nothing sweeter than starving such a loathsome parasite- since that's how these kind of people make their living!

If the pickins get too hard, then maybe he'll have to move on to ply his trade somewhere else.

Kill a home invader... murder or self defense?
Posted: 1/6/2008 8:39:54 AM
Self defense is a basic human right. Think about it very carefully- what kind of people want to deny others that right? Essentially theives, thugs and bullies who want a monopoly on force and a free hand to dominate and plunder others. Some of them even have official titles and claim they want to protect you.

Could never understand why so many "bleeding heart" liberals pined for the rights of violent felons, tyrannical dictators and terrorists- until I made the connection- could it be that they see these kind of people as fellow travelers? There are people who do refer to muggers as "free lance tax collectors".
Or entertain the possibility - if the bleeding hearts ever do end up running the world- thugs would make good watch dogs to guard the sheep and do the dirty things they don't have the stomach for to keep things in order.

I have an even better propsal- Just swap countries- let all the Mexicans move up here and we'll just move down there. Can't beat Mexico- warm year round and lots of beaches and beautiful mountains, deserts and jungles! It's a shame that a nation with all these wonderful resources has to be so corrupt and economically backward that it's people would want to flee to a colder northerly clime!
Other possibilities for compromise- just give California back to Mexico and call it even. But they have to keep all the woo woos who live there.
