To focus on better serving our members, we've decided to shut down the POF forums.

While regular posting is now disabled, you can continue to view all threads until the end of June 2019. Event Hosts can still create and promote events while we work on a new and improved event creation service for you.

Ouch. XP suggested more secure than Vista
Posted: 6/6/2007 7:42:23 PM
However safe Win98 is , No one will use it with a moderner OS like Win2000, XP , won't they? It's so unstable.
As to safety, Linux is a better choice I think. In Windows family, the new Vista should prove MS's assertion with time. A new product won't surprise me with its bugs.

MAC or WIndows...

In my opinion, Mac is just for some specific fields i.e. art design.
I don't think there are chances for Mac to overpass PC in the market.
Price is important, besides Windows has strong support from Microsoft.
Without stuff like iPod, Apple would have tougher days.

are there still cd buyers out there
Posted: 5/4/2007 2:23:18 AM
I've not bought a cassette or CD for a long time.
Because I always liston to music beside a computer and so from a computer.
I even seldom download music for I can enjoy much of them online.
That's the reality in China.
Sadly to you guys:(.

Does anyone else appreciate Classical music?:)

I enjoy classical. Much less than I used to, but it's the style I can handle best longest.

The same with you.

U.S. troops used 'comfort women' after War

Don't ever think you can keep the normal ethic in the war. It's the extreme circumstances that drive man mad.So don't even let it happens from the begining.

Next Step in Human Evolution
Posted: 5/3/2007 8:34:04 PM
I think the advance in science and technology is just one aspect in the evolution of modern human life.In the past one hundred year,we have adapted to the dramatic change in technology yet changed little in ourselves. Is there still great space left to evolute to a more intelligent species or it's limited by our physiologic structure?

Human Population
Posted: 5/3/2007 8:26:02 PM
I'm from China and the i thought the population in West has been stable.Although the population in undeveloped countries still increases rapidly, when their living standards reach a high level, various factors will slow down the growth to a acceptable level.
Isn't your economy developing in a relative environment friendly manner now or I'm misled by the information obtained by all the media.
