Question for Ladies 50+
Posted: 1/18/2013 6:45:03 AM
great response! I am so tired of the "Mr Fix It" (not the handyman) role in a relationship. If I get a whiff of financial insecurity I let them know I am not out to "save" anyone. I want someone that wants to be with me, not someone that wants to be taken care of.

Question for Ladies 50+
Posted: 1/15/2013 7:35:28 AM
What is your approach to dating? Do you require the same amount of "courting" and "romance" you did when you were younger? How long do you give a guy that seems nice before you realize he's not the one and move on? I just don't seem to get what women are looking for at my age. Yes, I've cut off a few, a few have cut me off, and then some we both just said "Good luck". Do you look for that "love at first sight" and every thing else falls short. I don't know about you ladies, but most of my first or second dates feel more like job interviews than dates-and I guess at our age there is more to tell about our experiences. Just want a little guidance.

Online dating working for you?
Posted: 10/18/2012 12:15:10 PM
Nope....but I think it is as much a function of my schedule (50% of evenings until 9pm and 50% of weekends until 9pm) as anything. I've met several that didn't want to see me again, and vice versa. But all in all, not what I had hoped.

Meet early-check each other out-and either continue or move on.

Death - Fear or Acceptance?
Posted: 6/27/2012 9:00:27 AM
I have no fear of death....I have my faith (no, I'm not a Bible thumper) and am secure in it. What I do fear, more than anything, is to become severely disabled and dependent on others.

I'm with you. I want to meet someone in a casual setting and see where they are coming from and give them the opportunity to run like hell when they first set eyes on me. I also try to imply that the first meeting is a "dutch treat", but generally I will pick up the tab unless she is a total B. I guess someone insists on a nice dinner because they are trying to impress you. Personally, I'm hoping who I am comes through...and I would be much too stiff and nervous on a dinner date. OK, so here's one guy in your corner.

Women's Financial Status
Posted: 6/14/2012 6:04:58 AM
A woman 45+ should be able to financially support herself. Accumulation of assets is not a big deal, but I (can't speak for all guys) really don't want someone dependent on me. It shows a lot about a person as to where they are in life...and yes, for want of a better phrase....shit does happen that puts people in a hole from time to time. I woman I think is becoming clingy because I have a decent (not great) job is a turn off.

I do like to be the gentleman, but it would be nice to have some one at least OFFER to pick up the tab.

Hope I answered your question.
