Looks are equally as important as personality if not more..
Posted: 4/28/2011 3:14:55 PM
I'm 47 I dont think I have aged badly, I personally think I was probably better looking when I was younger but I wasnt aware of it then. Now gravity and child birth has had its effect on me, but there are women that haven't had that problem and their inner hard won confidence shines through and makes them even more stunning than when they were "pretty" at a younger age.

*¦*_5th Country Walk:Eyam (The Plague Village )- Sun.1st May_*¦*
Posted: 4/28/2011 12:50:35 AM
I was going to come and bring my 11 year old son when this was an easy 4 miler, but 6 miles with what sounds like a steep climb would be a bit much for my (and his) first proper walk. Hope you all have fun, I was looking forward to it, the bar/nightclub type of POF meets are not for me.

Do customers own the right to be abusive and still be right?
Posted: 4/21/2011 4:43:40 AM
I worked in a telecoms company on the phones and on the odd occasion that people were either personally abusive or swearing I used to give them a warning that if it continued I would be terminating the call and their grievances would not be dealt with, If they then continued I hung up, I never had any problems from my managers the few times I had to do it.

I know lots of stunning women around 40 and even older. It might be that you just don't realise they are 40 :-)

st georges day
Posted: 4/19/2011 1:28:43 PM
I will be wearing my red rose as is the tradition in my family, my mum and dad were publicans and we always had a celebration for St Georges Day. This year I will be laying a bunch of roses on my dads grave with my mum, h passed away at this time of year and his birthdays was the 29th. He was buried on the 22nd 23 years ago and I gave mum a red rose to put in his coffin so he would be wearing one on St Georges Day. If the scottish and welsh can celebrate their days why not the english?

Does love in the supermarket really exist?
Posted: 9/28/2010 4:21:12 AM
Wouldn't work for me as with two growing lads my trolley looks like I am shopping for a large family including a man of the house. My 17 year old, shaves, wears large mens clothes, has size 11 feet and eats like a weightlifter!

ever fancied someone, maybe on here or in your day to day life but like to keep it a secret
Posted: 10/20/2009 4:12:20 AM
I had a crush on one of our senior management team and then suddenly found it was reciprocated. Unfortunately I also found out he was married, but i still get the butterflies when he smiles at me lol. And one of my son's friend's Dads is rather cute but again married. And two rather gorgeous but far too young men in my office bring a twinkle to my eye also. I think I need a fella of my own!

5 days in a caravan in the south lakes, week after next, with a quick trip back home in the middle of it for my son to attend his prom! So wish I was off to Roda in Corfu but cash flow is restricted this year.

UK driving license - very important info
Posted: 3/26/2009 4:02:04 PM
[So what happens if you have your original license from 20 years ago? will they force you to get a new id one?]

If you move house you have to change your address and therefore have to have one of the new licences. I also think if you get points you have to change too, but dont quote me on that. I could look it up but to be honest it's late, I'm tired and I dont care that much!

Working single parents..... so easy isn't it?
Posted: 3/15/2009 1:10:18 PM
I am a single mum to two boys working full time so we can stay in the village where thety were born and go to school, sure it would be nice to be at home for them, my youngest goes to afterschool and holiday club, but I dont expect other people to pay for them just because my relationship with their father ended. I am lucky the club is in my son's school but it is still a struggle to get him there, pick him up make sure they both have my attention, take them both to their football games, keep the house do the washing, ironing cooking etc, as well as keeping an eye on my elderly mum. School events are a nightmare as I only have 25 days holiday a year and need those to try to cover at least one day a week in all the school holidays and cover xmas when the club is closed. Luckily my eldest is old enough to babysit occasionally now but it's not his job to look after my youngest either. To add a disability to the mix would possibly be the straw to break the camels back, good luck x

slightly off topic but does anyone remember DUndee biscuits, giant chocolate shortbreads only 4 in a packet and tasted wonderful, I havent seen them for years.

Shakespear's Globe
Posted: 10/5/2008 2:07:37 PM
I am so jealous of you all. I love Shakespeare but I usually visit London with my kids or work and cannot get anyone to go with me to the Globe. I did see performances in Stratford many years ago and would love to go there again too. Especially as David Tennant and Patrick Stewart are both performing there this season.

Dr Who and your views?
Posted: 6/1/2008 10:58:44 AM
From the original series' it has to be Jon Pertwee. This time round Christopher Eccleston pushed my buttons but Tennant is great too and I am trying to get tickets for his stratford appearances (especially as Patrick Stewart is in Hamlet too!) As for assistants definitely not Catherine Tate, cant stand the woman I keep expecting her to say Bovvered! I enjoyed Billie Piper's role.

Older Women And Younger Men Dating.... What Do You Think?
Posted: 5/5/2008 11:16:24 AM
So what would you ladies say is a comfortable age difference that would be
acceptable in a relationship ?

I always said no more than 16 years younger, but now that makes no younger than 28 I'm reconsidering

Older Women And Younger Men Dating.... What Do You Think?
Posted: 2/3/2008 11:19:01 AM
The youngest I've dated was 7 years younger, he was fine! sometimes in fact people thought he was older than me. I used to say that I would only date men less than 16 years younger( so I wasn't old enough to be his mum!), but more recently I find I want to date someone I am compatable with and find attractive, why should age come into that? They will need to be able to cope with me having kids though and I'm not sure much younger men could.

can people really remain platonic friends with x's
Posted: 9/25/2007 2:41:22 PM
My last fella had loads of ex's that were 'friends!' but as he classed me as one and still slept with me you can understand why I was sceptical. Anyway as I cared for him far more than he did for me I ended all contact, I had no chance of moving on as long as he was still in my life. I tolerate my ex husband but love his family to bits! Not many other ex's but if I meet them I usually say hi, thats about it. I'm not convinced it's possible, if it happens to me ever then I'll believe it ( bit like my feelings on god lol)

Age differences
Posted: 8/5/2007 2:13:58 PM
I have always said I wont go for anyone more than 16 years younger (dont ewant to be old enough to be their mum) but opportunities are few and far between now. I think that may be more my size than my looks and personality though. I agree go for it for fun, if its for serious someone our own age or 5 years either side will probably work best as we will have similar experiences and requirements from life.
