Shamrocking with Crossfire - March 10 - 8:00 p.m. to Close - Iggy's Cantina, Valley Park/St. Louis
Posted: 3/4/2012 8:28:59 PM
Crossfire is a terrific band! In addition to the POF party there is a meetup group going that currently has 45 people signed up. I'm hoping it's not too crowded to dance.

Profile Title's sayin stuff like Are there any Kind Descent Good Honest etc people. Anyone see this?

When their profile says they are seeking someone "descent" I assume they either can't spell or are too lazy to proofread.

I had a very nice time, thank you to the organizers. I was actually planning to only stop in for a bit on my way somewhere else, but I ended up staying for quite a while.

I'd also like to thank the pretty ladies that consented to dance with me: Sandy (Beach), Kim (KD4U), Cindy(Hello!) and Susie (FunLuvn).

Karen,

Thank you for organizing, I had a very nice time. I thought the DJ was a lot better this time.

I was terribly remiss and didn't even wish you a Happy Birthday, so please accept my belated best wishes. I hope you have a wonderful year!

Karen,

If I make it, which seems likely, I promise to do my best to see ALL the pretty ladies! I'm hoping at least some of them will consent to a dance.

I'm actually a maybe. I was hoping to go to the Muny to see "The Sound of Music", but that's unlikely now.

Karen: Will your friend the beautiful Jan be in attendance? I haven't seen her in a while but I did see some of her posse this past Tuesday at Concord.

Friday BANG! with The Undecided? - Stratford, Fenton, MO, July 16
Posted: 7/9/2010 2:45:29 PM
I'm actually a maybe.

I should be at the Stratford already that night for one of my dance clubs in the Gazebo room, may poke my head in the bar to see what's shaking.

Am I correct to assume this is in the bar, not the ballroom?

Aftermath ~ Mad Hatter Unbirthday Party (Pics)
Posted: 5/1/2010 6:19:10 AM
Technically, there's nothing other than good manners preventing anyone from downloading any pictures from the site and doing whatever they want with them.

I don't personally mind pictures of me being out there, but if anyone is concerned that pictures of them may be misused I suggest they ask to have them removed. Really, once pics are out there (or on your profile), they can go anywhere. The same internet saftey warnings given to teenagers apply equally to adults ... stuff on the internet can live forever and can easily be taken out of context.

I'm not signing up since I'm tentative, but I may be able to pop in if I'm back from the winery in time and not too tired. I won't have the hat, though.

'Life Goes On' Aftermath pics....3-25-10~~ JP's Corner
Posted: 3/29/2010 3:56:36 AM
I had a nice time and enjoyed that it wasn't so crowded. I'm thankful to the pretty ladies that let me hang out at their table.

Not sure what's up with the DJ, but heard lots of complaints ... to my untrained ears the bass was overwhelming to where it was difficult to even identify songs that I usually quite enjoy, let alone dance to them.

For my info: Will the POF event be in the ballroom or the bar? The ballroom is non-smoking -- right????

The POF event is in the ballroom, which is non smoking. Smoking is permitted in the bar.

just try to offer some respect for folks on the forums who already have plans made for same day events...just a thought

Very well said. I agree that posting the same information on multiple threads approaches advertising and spam, which I assume was not the intent.

Apologies to the original poster, I hope everyone has a wonderful time.

VD colors

Kellie, I'll keep an eye out for you.

I'm sure I won't be the only one with beads. Who knows, I may even find some red, white and pink beads ... since those colors also represent attributes I admire.

THANKS IM HAVOC
Posted: 1/28/2010 6:42:07 PM
I'll be at the Strat that night with another group (in the bar) and will probably pop in.

I'll likely be wearing Mardi Gras colors (in the form of beads) rather than Valentine's.

The traditional colors of Mardi Gras are purple, green, and gold. These colors are said to have been chosen by Grand Duke Alexis Alexandrovitch Romanoff of Russia during a visit to New Orleans in 1872. This doctrine was reaffirmed in 1892, when the Rex Parade theme "Symbolism of Colors" gave the colors their meanings:

purple represents justice;
green, faith;
and gold, power.

I don't get why men are allowed to post pictures of themselves without a shirt on this site, but women aren't.

I agree, it's time to do away with the double-standard!

I Love It When ...
Posted: 12/24/2009 4:21:18 PM
This is an idea I did not think of myself. A friend started this same thread on another site and I thought it was worth repeating here. It will be fun to fill this in and keep it going. I will go first...

I love it when ...
...I am reminded to be grateful ...
...a woman says "yes" ...
...a child says "no" ...
...a partner and I share a great dance ...
...I received a surprise hug from behind ...
...someone reminds me I'm loved ...

St.Peters,MO~ 12-17-09~ Mid Week Meet & Greet Holiday Karaoke Party
Posted: 12/11/2009 3:33:49 PM

hey Jim, sometimes getting out of your box (distance-wise) is a good thing..I've done it, you can too!

I often travel to the MO side of the river, and in fact have been to All Stars in the past. I'm just not going to make this particular gathering since it's a weeknight and the travel time makes it inefficient for me given that I start work at 6:30 a.m. It's not accurate to characterize me as being "in a box" (distance-wise).

How Many Miles is Too Many Miles?
Posted: 11/27/2009 12:55:57 PM
Everyone is different I guess, but 150 miles one-way is too far for me to go meet a stranger. I'm just not willing to go that far. Now, if I met someone in real-life and felt enough of a connection, I guess I might try it out, but even that I think would be rare.
