The ravages of age.

But, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and is only skin deep. What one person finds attractive or hot may not be to another. So my advice as a (hot) woman of undertimed age, quit looking in the mirror and get out there.

Shallow pool in the countryside

I started my own singles walking group, and met loads of people. The group is still going strong 7 years on, but I am hoping to move back to Cornwall my home County, so don't walk as much as I used to. The group attracted all ages, and there are social activities as well as the walks. I started with only 3 members and now there are 144, plus other affiliated walking groups in other areas. I used Walking World to search for walks, and kept walks between 3 and 7 miles with a pub stop at the end. We usually started and ended at the same pub, and had an optional Sunday roast together. It's a great way to meet other singles from your area, and who k nows you might meet that someone special, although I always stressed that it was a singles group, not a dating site.

Cancelling unwanted Upgraded membership

I got caught like this with another dating site a couple of years ago. My bank couldn't help, or stop the money going out, which seemed very strange at the time. Anyway, to cut a long story short I found the phone number for the site and called them personally stating that I had not authorized an automatic payment and wanted it stopped forthwith. It worked! Maybe worth a try for you.

Try sarting a singles walking and social group. That's what I did, it's been running for about 8 years now, and people have met partners although I have always stressed that it wasn't a dating site. I handed over the leadership a couple of years ago as I thought my house had sold, but it all fell through. There are now 2 groups running, Gloucesteshire and Oxfordshire. although it won't make you rich, But you will meet lots of single people.

start a Singles walking group, that's what I did, and there are now 3 groups. I handed over the leaderships a couple of years as I thought I had sold my house and would be moving away. The groups are still going strong. I charged per walk and event. Just a thought.

My pet hate is the drivers who overtake me on the motorway, then cut right across the front of my car when they pull in again causing me to brake. It's just bad driving! I see so much poor driving on my regular trips down the M4/5 on my regualr vistits to Cornwall, sometimes I despair, I wonder there aren't more accidents than there already are.

I take Glucosamine and Condroitin supplements. Although they are not proven to work and not prescribed, ( mine were until a few months ago)
I recently ran out and forgot to re-order, my knee has been really playing up, so I am off to the health food shop to buy some more. I have heard that the glucosamine on it's own doesn't work you have to have the combination, and I usually get mine online. I injured my knee many years ago, Slipped in deep mud and twisted it, which resulted in a torn cartlidge, which at the time was very painfull and until I discovered Glucosamine I often had trouble walking without a stick. Since discovering Glucosamine, I not only walk my own dogs, but up until recently I ran a singles walking group with walks anything from 4 to 9 miles.

Managing on an Old Age Pension
Posted: 10/26/2018 7:00:01 AM
My ex husband and I got ripped of by a so called Financial Advisor, who was working for Manulife, so at the end of the day our pension wasn't worth the paper it was written on! I struggle on the state pension and make it up with a little bit of dog walking thrown in, it's a good thing I'm fit. Heating and keeping my car on the road are my two biggest bills, plus the annual ground rent on my park home. I am trying to sell up and move back to Cornwall where most of my family are, but it's a slow process at the moment. I try to count my blessings, I am fit and healthy, and that counts for a lot.

Managing on an Old Age Pension

Something in the Jeremy Vine show this morning really annoyed me. A lot of people seem to assume that OAP's have never had it so good. Well, I can tell them that they are very wrong. I struggle to live on my pension, and before anyone says, go out to work, I do, but I worry about when I can no longer work, what happens then. I was left with very little after my divorce and had to go out to work, but by the time I had paid my bills, and done my weekly food shop there was very little left. I don't smoke, buy one bottle of wine a week, and run a very old VW. My home is a modest park home which at the moment is in need of some attention. Sorry if this sounds like I am moaning, mostly I am very positive and optomistic, and I count myself lucky that I have my health and strength, as I know that there are many people who are worse off than me. My advice to anyone not yet of pensionable age, is to take out a good private pension, with a well known reputable company. My ex and I got caught up in a pension scam and although we have tried, cannot get any of the money we paid into it back.

Someone For Everyone?
Posted: 10/23/2018 9:10:15 AM
I think that you just have to get out there and see who's around. I started a singles walking group around 6 years ago, it's still going strong and following that a group started in Gloucestershire. It was a way to meet people in the same boat as yourself, but without the pressure of dating, if you met someone through the group, and many did, then that's the icing on the cake. I handed the leadership over to another walker as I am ,moving back to Cornwall, as soon as my house sells, which is taking a lot longer than I thought it would. Wow Singles walking group is the name for anyone who's interested.

I might be a little mad, but having only just surfaced and had brunch. I did myself a nice bacon, eggs toast and baked beans, looked at my two dogs and promptly cooked up the same for them.. judging by the look on their faces they enjoyed there treat. Anyone else do silly things for their pets.

I haven't used my camera for years, the phone is so much more convenient nowadays, and seeing as it's always in my pocket or handbag when I am out, it's more convenient. I have the Samsung Galaxy 8, great little phone and camera.

Bit of a legal question
Posted: 10/9/2018 5:25:44 AM
I regularly walk a friends dog, when I went to pick the dog up last week, there was a builders van parked on the drive. On returning from my walk, I backed my car up and then went forward, at this point the builder was stood in at the entrance to a caraven awning opposit his van. I was distracted at seeing him on his phone stood just outside of the awning. On going forward I didn't see that he had left his van door wide open, and I hit it. It only caused what looked to be minor damage, but this week I had been left a bill for £700, an amount that I don't have. I live on my OAP and a bit extra for dog walking. As this was on private land and he had left his door open, also I did not expect to see anyone infront of the awning as the owners were at work, am I libel?? I would be interested to hear your comments.

Smoking in your own home
Posted: 6/29/2018 2:23:51 PM
I can see both sides, but as a non-smoker I find second hand smoke ghastly. I have asthma so smoke makes me cough and wheeze. I hate getting stuck behind anyone in the street who is smoking. It's an addiction that costs the NHS millions with smoking related diseases. Most smokers at least the ones I know can't function without their smokes and are unable to give it up, I find this very sad and feel that more help should be given to people who want to give it up.

Ages ago, I started chatting to a guy on here, who seemed quite nice so we progressed to a phone call. After a few minutes chatting he asked me if, wait for it. "did I like anal sex" I put down the phone, and needless to say we didn't progress any further.

I think you have hit the nail on the head about parents and parenting. So many kids nowadays are just left to their own devices while Mum and Dad are either out at work or have just left their offspring to their own devices shut in their rooms on Facebook or anything else they can acess
while Mum and Dads backs are turned. What has happened to family time, actually taking time out to do something with your kids? I feel so sad when I see kids dragged around the shops of a weekend, I can think of a lot more enjoyable things to do as a family.
