new chat feature
Posted: 1/8/2012 1:37:40 PM
New chat platform is better than the old hands down, although the new definitely has it's own issues.

Mine seems to not connect the odd time, meaning I get a chat request, accept it, then there's a little icon across the bottom that says connecting.. but it never does.

How much of a difference does 20 pounds REALLY make?
Posted: 12/15/2011 8:08:02 AM
Nothing on me.. I've lost 35 in the past 2 months and I am yet able to tell anything.

People are ALLOWED to like what they like.
If guys don't like fat girls, then they don't have to like fat girls, if they don't like skinny girls, they don't have to like skinny girls.

To each their own.

No point getting your knickers in a twist over it.

About this Tim Hortons first date thing.
Posted: 9/15/2011 2:20:48 PM
I've always seen Timmy Ho's as the lazy person's "somewhere public so I can't be murdered" option
Easy way to check each other out, see if any of their physical attributes that matter to you were lied about, and go on from there.
Could just as easily be a library, Hardware store, somewhere you both feel like frolicking as you judge and are judged.

Why Do They Choose 'Prefer Not To Say'?
Posted: 9/15/2011 2:13:53 PM
They choose "prefer not to say" because there isn't an option that best describes what they are.
Assuming they are being deceitful gets you no where. Asking questions does.
Grilling someone on their breeding capacity on the first message might put some off though.. just in case you were unsure.
It smacks of looking for a baby factory not a partner whom you might like to have children with in the future.

In public, Should you out some one you have seen on POF?.
Posted: 8/31/2010 12:46:21 PM
I have had countless people recognize me from POF.. about the only time I do not handle it well is if I'm out with my kids. It's not the fact I'm being pegged for being on here, it's the fact I don't like being hit on when I have the kids with me.

I hope there won't be many delays.
I drive from Barrie to Bracebridge for work .
I think (and hope) it will end up being a whole lot less of a deal than they're making it out to be .
I would have thought they'd fly them into North Bay and then motorcade down from there (G8)?

Barrie POF event?
Posted: 12/30/2009 8:07:36 AM
They used to have them at 55 special quite often... but alot of internal drama about who "hosted" better parties with more attendee's killed them off I think.
There are many up in Orillia with a nice group of people, and quite a few worthwhile ones in TO if you'd like to tag along with me sometime.
Best of Luck

Cooking classes?
Posted: 8/22/2009 1:42:50 PM
Divine........ you seriously need to consider my marriage proposal

There are many "private colleges" that offer cooking classes as well.
There is a Liaison College up here in Barrie that runs full courses as well as evening classes.
Their website has a campus listed in Vaughn.

pictures that show an ex chopped out
Posted: 6/7/2009 12:18:23 PM

Dont assume its an ex, it could be anyone, just the profile holder has the class not to paste a friends face on a dating site without permission.

Thats exactly it. We get blasted for having pics in a group up, but when we remove the faces of the group we get blasted?

The one scratched out in mine is my brother.. I try to keep my pics as recent as possible and that happens to be all the pics taken at his wedding in jamaica.

The Gym. Leave the ladies alone, or say hi?
Posted: 6/7/2009 8:50:12 AM
Common sense should dictate as in any other situation, you can tell if she's open to being approached.
Being the fat chick in the gym... I've had more people bothering me than the pretty skinny ones there to pick up and socialize. I get all kinds coming up in my second hour on the treadmill giving me props for being so hardcore, offers to help with personal training, and just general compliments
Being disturbed for whatever reason when you're in your zone gets very annoying

POF should create a spot for description of preferred body-type/look
Posted: 6/6/2009 3:15:41 PM
to the original question:

They should have the feature for those that wish to use it. Why not?
It would be no more exclusionary than the question that asks about your education & yearly income.
Mind you, I would think people that have their search preferences so narrowed down to exactly what they think they want wouldn't get many results in their searches.
Sifting through the crap gives you something to do on your way to the Brass Ring afterall!

btw Hi Leeanne, MyI, Greanize & SinnFein Nice (or not?) to see you guys still kicking around.

Would you respond to these messages
Posted: 3/19/2009 8:01:40 AM
As a general rule I reply to all messages, unless they are complete idiocy.
Unfortunately that is not the case with most people on POF.

I see nothing wrong with your first two versions of the messages, but it might be construed as trying to see if the women are gold diggers?
My response would be :
I WAS TOLD THERE WOULD BE NO MATH ON THIS QUIZ!!!!!!!

I could also see how the women in question might take offence to the last message.
Not everyone will reply to you, it's a simple fact. Adding the little dig about being wrong that they are a "cool chick" plus the mini diatribe about the "run of the mill" guy answers is a bad start. The whole thing reads like an attempt at a well disguised insult, just not so well disguised.
Due to your mathematical background you may just feel that you are stating obvious points, but in reality, it's all in how the person receiving the message is going to interpret it.

Better luck in the future!!

Not to put too fine a point on it, but Hedo II is the resort for the true libertine couple ;-) Hedo III is for amateurs and honeymooners.

Exactly. If you want to watch a bunch of people fumble about and then fight in the aftermath go to Hedo III. It is a good learning experience.
Hedo II is a whole different world.

Orgies in the porn sense really don't happen very often anymore.. in my experience it's very safe (condoms & dental dams) and usually only done in a closed group in the swingers community where we all know & trust the other participants.

I'm in agreement with you about the younger woman, but I think both situations are equal.

If he's left you for another man... has he been lying to you the entire relationship? Faking his feelings for you.. keeping his true desires to himself?
Everything you know about him and his desires has been a lie. All fabricated to enhance the illusion he's straight.

Jicama is excellent to snack on.. the ones in our grocery store up in Ontario have been horribly dried out & wrinkly upon arrival so I haven't had any in a while.

I've made it a point to investigate all the different types of fruit you can get these days.

Can't say they're all good but at least I tried them.
I've developed quite a love for fresh (not canned) Lychees & Dragon fruit as a result

Do it yourself - Home Depot
Posted: 7/18/2008 6:27:09 AM

Also, as a bargaining chip, if the house looks like a Handyman did the work, hammer down the price. There is no valid reason for you to pay a similar price for real estate owned by a Do it yourselfer in comparison to a house that was built by tradesmen..... irrespective of what a real estate agent tells you.

I just walked away from the purchase of my dream house for that very reason.
They couldn't produce permits or passed inspections on the basement renovation or the closure of the balcony that looked down into the kitchen to make two walk in closets for the front bedrooms. I laughed at the agent and offered them $about 40,000 less than their already reduced asking price and ending up walking away.

I do not have a huge problem with Home Depot, they are what they are.
If I'm going there I know exactly what I'm going for and I know exactly what my limits & talents are for repairs. If I need to ask questions I have several tradespeople that are friends that I can ask for advice and help. I find their staff to be totally useless, and now having read some replies to this I guess it's not just because they're astounded that knowledge is spewing out of a womans mouth in thier store.

My I... if I'd known you were a plumber.. I would have had you over for dinner LONG AGO

If you were gonna buy a mini van, what would you buy? and why?
Posted: 7/16/2008 10:44:38 AM
Well I was going to suggest ditching the minvan idea entirely and going for a crossover SUV like I will be, but with the last post explanation of the accessibility issues I don't think that option would work as well for you as it would for me.

I DESPISE minivans of all types!!! Theoretically you buy a minivan because you have a load of kids, and therefore loads of stuff. But when you swing up the back door theres a foot of floorspace to cram everything into?!?!?!?!?! I can't stand it when people have one kid and rush out and buy the newest and greatest minvan because "thats what parents drive".
About the only one I would consider if desperate would be the toyota. It has a model that
seats 8 and the back seat goes into the floor not just folded down(or having to lug it out).

I'm not a big driver. I have 3 kids and we walk literally every where we can. I burn about a tank of gas every 3 1/2 weeks and thats mostly due to a job I do on saturdays 90 km from the house. I'll be giving that up soon if gas prices keep going the way they are!!!!!

I currently drive a chevy cavalier, and planned it that way because i didn't want to be hauling carseats & kids in and out of a minivan. They're all under age 8 & the small car suits us perfectly fine for where ever we need to go to that we can't get to buy bus or walking. I can't imagine however ramming three teenagers in the backseat of that car though. When the poor little sucker dies out on me I'll be going for either a Honda Pilot, or GMC/Saturn Acadia/Outlook.
They both have models that seat 8 and in both the back seat folds into the floor flat, and I really don't give a crap about the big SUV scare about gas, because I wouldn't be buying the monstrosity if I could manage without it.
If they made a 4 seater smartcar I'd be all over it for in town use!

Wait another year for Kindergarten?
Posted: 6/12/2008 10:24:15 AM
I'm in Ontario and my sons bday is on Dec 24, cutoff being the 31st as well.
I asked in JK, if he should be held back, but they had testing geared to their calender age.. and he was ok.
I asked in SK, and they said yes.. still ok.
I asked in Grade 1, and they said oh no no boys don't do things as fast as girls..he's fine.
In Grade 2, after a horrendous year with a horrible teacher I regretted not leaving him back a year. They plow the kids through here all the time, theres a unwritten "no fail" policy within the schools I feel.
When kids are little, 6 months in age difference is a lifetime.
If I could do it again.. I'd have left him back when he was too young to know what was going on, instead of risking having him struggle and fail a grade, only to have to deal with the emotional ramifications on top of everything else.

? - Is it best to get another dog after loosing one ??
Posted: 6/8/2008 7:30:32 PM
I didn't lose my baby as tragically as you did, but I'm still dealing with it none the less.

I had to put down my Maine Coon cat Tony in November last year. He was 14.. old for that breed, and it was just time.
He was there as the protector for all my kids, as each one was born he would sleep on the floor in front of their crib, and come walk all over my face (all 26 pounds of him) if I didn't answer the call thru the baby monitor fast enough. He let the kids use him as a pillow & endured the embarrassment of being toted around in in a doll carriage as best he could..
It was emotionally devastatingly hard for about a week..I couldn't even bear catfood commercials.
It fades over time.. although this weekend my son was watching one of the Harry Potter movies and when the caretakers cat(same breed & colouring) jumped up in a scene I was done in again!!

The kids are mostly over it now and are asking for a new kitten.. but I'm not ready.

You have to go on how you feel.. you need to want a completely new friend & companion and not be trying to replace the one you've lost.

Best of Luck!

The procedure 11 years after
Posted: 5/23/2008 8:33:11 PM
Don't you still have to be at least 30 to get these done?

I seriously want one. I'm still waiting.

I'm not entirely sure about the USA, but up here the provincial health plan pays for the snip, but not the re attachment if you change your mind down the road. They will strongly discourage anyone in the "breeding years" but ultimately if you push they will do it.

If it's all self pay in the USA, why would they refuse?

On topic though...
My SO had his done and then the 4 year old jumped two footed on his nads the next day and ripped out the stitches. He hasn't complained of pain since, (and it's been 5 years)...once he regained his ability to stop speaking in tones only dogs and bats could hear that is.

No question in or around Orillia is tops. Check it out it has the most beautiful parks a better waterfront park you wont find anywhere, tons of cool events outdoors from May through to the Fall. Great shopping an hour and 15 min from Tor. airport. 25 min. to Tor great restaurants. Friendly people and reasonably affordable?

She said LESS SNOW I believe.. and you can't get anywhere that gets more snow than Orillia or Barrie.

It should count as twice, no wait... Quadruple Prize even.

Me allowing a guy(or girl with attachments) to perform any act that can result in me having a fissure or tear that will become infected due to it's location AND that requires painful surgery to correct is a pretty damn big deal.
If it isn't worth 4x bragging rights.. it ain't worth it.

Sex over 50
Posted: 5/16/2008 11:49:33 AM

I would probably make her lose control and cum so hard that she would be in danger of crapping the bed.

omg.. thats the worst pick up line ever!!

I had a 50 yr old guy when I was 20... I didn't walk right for days...I think I threw my back out, and my thumb hurt for some reason. It was great! Although now that I'm 34 does that mean I need to go get a 65 yr old to make it as good?
I hope I am able to be going like gangbusters right into my golden years. People are living longer, with a better quality of health than ever before, so I don't see why the sex should stop at a certain age. I'm amazed at the ages of people that come into the lab.. someone I think looks mid 40's is actually 60!

No offence to anyone, but I got grabbed, pinched, goosed and fondled alot in the nursing home I used to do Labwork for so anyone that looks grandfatherly just doesn't do it for me, except for Sean Connery

Oral sex question for woman
Posted: 5/15/2008 10:05:55 AM
I've never understood the theory of not being ok with your own fluids.

It's not like you were dining out on someone else and then trying to kiss her for gods sakes!
Whatever was on your lips would be at least 80% your saliva, which she has no problem ingesting on other occasions.

I have a male friend that after i've performed oral on him, he has to watch me brush and gargle with mouthwash before he'll even kiss me on the cheek for cripes sake!

I doubt you'll ever make her comfortable with it, she has to get there on her own. I suggest asking HER about it at some point you aren't naked and horizontal, and that should get you further than asking here.

Poor guy would get kicked across the room more than likely.. I'm so ticklish I can't even handle a foot massage.

Sleeping Bag Sex. It can be fun.

Yikes!!! Although the theory is hot.... I think the sex would be too.. My sleeping bags are very warm, I can't sleep in one in the summer!
I would think you'd be completely drenched with sweat, sleeping bag stuck to both your backsides (and everywhere else!!)unable to peel yourself out of it.
