the presence of a firearm during domestic violence incident increases the likelihood of a homicide by 500%

There is absolutely no way to determine that. :/

By that calculation just about every case in my area (unfortunaly we have a lot) would end in a homicide because almost every single house has at least one firearm in it.

I don't even know anybody in RL that doesn't own one.

This is only logical, not even debatable.

I completely suck at video games but yet enjoy them, my ex is a horrible fisherman but loves fishing.
Either a lot of people are illogical or it is actually debatable, I guess it's all in how you look at it.

I mentioned nothing to incite "hysteria" nor used any tactics.
Your use of the word "fear" does relate to paranoia.

There is no "red herring" where I had mentioned confiscation. As I already stated, it is an example to illustrate a point... not a call to arms. :/
I'm not even concerned of that even being a reality anytime soon, as it's already been deemed unconstitutional.
Your going to have a hard time finding something from me "stoking" paranoia or fear, you are reading a lot into it if you do.

Just seems the subject material bothers you quite a bit.

Which seems to make me a "nut" in your mind. :/
Though we differ on opinions, I am not the one who resorted to name calling or becoming emotional.
I guess you can't see me in any other way.

We differ, I can live with that; it keeps life interesting. ;)

You quoted me then went on to write about "them", lumping me in.
Nowhere have I posted about being paranoid of anything I was lumped in with.

Collections was used simply to illustrate how criminals would have firearms in reference to HFX's post, not exactly paranoia unless one reads it out of context.

You are quite correct about MOLON LABE. That is where I stand, it's what I believe. It applies to all of our rights... As was mentioned in said post. Once again, no fear.
There will be the same response no matter the right being infringed. Exactly how does this illustrate that I'm afraid of something? If I choose to defend my rights if taken that implies that I live in fear of my rights being taken? Interesting conection. :/

Still missing "red herrings". :/

Mungo's rules? Once again, no fear. :p

Interesting read, had nothing at all to do with my post but interesting none the less.

I posted of patriotism, not pride... They are two very different things.

There really are no bans on firearms, the right license and tax will get you whatever you want.

$1500 for a class III licence and $200 tax per firearm per year and you can own all the full autos you want.

Not as stupid as you would think, it would make plenty of legal firearms owners criminals... myself included.

Patriotism is about home (including country) and born rights, it has absolutely nothing to do with governments.
It would do well for governments to realize that.
I am a patriot and I do not fully support my own government... that does not make me any less of a patriot, in fact it makes me more of one if what I don't support is harmful to my home and rights.

My home and born rights... those I will defend untill my dying breath.

At least that's my humble take on it, for what it's worth.

I like to imagine how some of the biblical stories would play out in modern society.

I highly doubt a modern day believer would believe anyone who claimed some of those things.
Now, how does one know if somebody is a nutcase, liar, or being honest if this is all real?
Somebody today making Moses claims would be instantly dismissed.
"God came to me in a dream." (Joseph, for example)... Dismissed as a looney toon.
A husband, or anybody for that matter, believing his pregnant wife is a virgin... Yeah right, nice try.

Seriously, how does one determine what is real and what is not if they truly believe?

If somebody claimed God spoke to them and were dismissed as a nutcase but later discovered that God actuallyy did speak to them... Does that mean the believers that dismissed him broke faith in God?

Mind you, this is not a spiteful post; just simple curiousty.

Advice on filing child support
Posted: 2/20/2015 3:42:44 AM
I'm about 98% onboard with child support, whether male or female.

I am a little shaky about 15 - 16 years later. :/

I've seen this happen a few times, those times I have is when the one being filed against has improved thier situation.
I'm not against child support at all but I do think there should be some sort of stipulation about doing it in a timely manner. :/

I've also noticed, in my state anyway, the percentage of pay taken far exceeds the cost of raising a child. I have worked with people who were losing up to 30% of thier take home pay. I helped raise three teen girls... it didn't take 30% of my money to do so. :/

Minors have never had this right

Incorrect.

I legally purchaced a rifle at the age of sixteen from a licensed dealer, the laws used to allow for younger buyers.

Interesting is that folks keep saying how easily available firearms are today causing problems... they were far more readily available years ago.
When I was ten I used to walk to the local dump with a .22 to go plinking, nobody thought anything of it. In high school you saw them in gun racks in the parking lot. I even finished a stock and reblued an old 12 gauge in shop class.
Now, with increased restrictions and outright bans in areas, shootins are on the rise. It would seem to me that firearms are not the problem, much as drugs are not the problem. Drugs are illegal, that's working out real well isn't it. :/
Should we not be dealing with what the problem really is? Society? As long as the real issue is overlooked the violence is going to continue to escalate with or without firearms.
I am baffled in why that is so hard to comprehend . I guess it's all about the "quick fix" and hope the real problem just goes away. :/

Currently Federal law prohibits licensed dealers from selling firearms to a minor, 21 for hand guns and 18 for long rifles.
Unlicensed persons may sell or transfer handguns to persons of 18 and long rifles to persons of any age.

Given that most state's legal hunting age is 12 it would be rather ludicrous to tell them they couldn't have a rifle or shotgun. :/

The whole damn thing is pointless. I don't care who did what or why in the past. The problem is here and now.

We currently have idiots doing horrendous acts that need to be dealt with. Why they do it is moot.

The whole world is so caught up in comparing, history, and religion that it's gone beyond stupid.

The bottom line is bad people doing bad things that need to be dealt with... it's really that simple.

[FYI...]

When? The case will be taken up in April and not decided until around late June..

Everything is based around the 14th Amendment (equal protection of the laws).
Given the circumstances surrounding it, ALL unmarried people are being denied equal protection as laws (mainly tax laws) differ for married and unmarried people... something to think about. O_o

Due process is being carried out. The Constitution does not address marriage of any kind.
I still fail to see where it's being "walked on", please do enlighten me. If it is should single people follow suit and demand their equal protection as well?

If you were attempting to bait me it isn't going to happen, if folks want to get married then by all means go for it.

Help with weightloss and medical condition?

Weight is not always a good indicator of fat loss, especially for those new to exercise.

Exercising will increase muscle mass, even slight gains add up. Muscle is much more dense than fat and requires far less mass than fat for it's equivalent weight.
It is quite possible to lose fat but gain weight at the same time, I've seen this happen.

examples are shown to them where the Constitution is being walked on

I fail to see an example here???

It doesn't forbid, nor does it forbid straight marriage. It doesn't forbid bank robbing or murder either.
It is up to the states to rule on these things, not the federal government... As it should be.
If folks want to change the marriage law they need to take it up with the state, I don't have any problems with it.

Exactly where was it "walked on" in your example? :/

Three people dead and dozens injured in 18 car pile up last Wednesday on I-80 in Clarion Pa... Imagine the number over a year on all highways.

In 2006 an estimated 109,522 people were seriously injured on trampolines, approximately 4,793 of those were hospitalized or dead on arrival.

In 2009 pharmaceuticals were responsible for 37,485 deaths nationwide.

I could go on but it's redundant, nobody cares about the deceased. It's just a game played by those who simply don't like firearms.
Nobody is crying about everything else killing us off.
Medical malpractice is probably the worst one of all... Only around 800,000 Dr.'s out there and they likely lead the highest death toll in the country.

But everything else is acceptable because it isn't a firearm. :/

Freedom has a downside, people are free to make the wrong choice... Given the alternative, I can live with that.
You can't protect people from stupid and, in the words of Foxworthy, "you can't fix stupid".

Stop playing with the Constitution and our freedoms and start addressing the actual problems already. :/
