Notice: Forums will be shutdown by June 2019

To focus on better serving our members, we've decided to shut down the POF forums.

While regular posting is now disabled, you can continue to view all threads until the end of June 2019. Event Hosts can still create and promote events while we work on a new and improved event creation service for you.

Thank you!

Is it disrespectful to date multiple people at once?
Posted: 8/12/2011 8:58:22 PM
Dating multiple people is not good. If the guy you are dating is what you are looking for, then why look elsewhere. If he is not what you want, then why would you date him. it's black or white.

What's The Big Deal?
Posted: 1/28/2011 5:33:08 PM
While I was dissapointed that I can no longer see if an email is read without paying, it's not that important. What is important is that I can send and read my emails without dishing out $$. With most other paid sites you pay monthly to send emails and if the other person is not a paying member, they can not reply. Those other sites also have millions of members but you are lucky to find 10 other paying members in your area.

Advice on marital status?
Posted: 11/21/2009 6:33:11 PM
From what I was told; you are single, married, divorced, or a widow(er). There is no status of being seperated in Pa. Some men choose to stay married rather than the divorce road when children are involved. Sure it means paying all of her bills including the house she lives in. But it makes things much eaiser on the kids plus it makes being with them easier. Once the kids are grown up, then the divorce comes.

I am getting used to being SINGLE, which scares hell out of me.
Posted: 6/24/2009 8:15:06 PM
Finding someone is a lot harder than it used to be. Finding someone for a long term commitment is nearly impossible. The longer I have been 'single' the tougher it is settle for someone. Some of the best times of my life occured with my wife. Unfortunately the worst times occured with her as well. Someday I hope to find someone; however, as times passes by the pool seems much smaller and the fish a little bigger. I think you'll find someone when you expect it the least.

men's habits....

Just wondering, if men don't care about or like to see lingerie then why are companys like victorias secret and fredericks so popular?

My quess is that they are popular because women think it's sexy and a turn on.

If your under 25 years old an 5'8", 125 lbs, with a thin, tight figure and your partner wants to see you in lingere, he may have a fetish. If you're in your 40's at 5' 4" and weigh in at 150lbs or more then he may want you to wear lingere to cover up while he dreams of what you looked like 20 years ago.

I'm really just having a great time...anyone else?
Posted: 6/5/2009 5:45:47 PM

I'm not sure I want it to!! I am so happy being single, thats why I just want to date and have fun. Why would I want to complicate my life again with possibly yet another lazy, unemployed, insensitive, abusive, loser husband to make my life a living hell.

I just don't get it. If you're so happy being single, why be on a dating site filled with 'lazy, unemployed, insensitive, abusive, loser ' males.

Do you believe a man of today, still understands the true meaning of romance?
Posted: 4/22/2009 7:11:03 PM

All a man has to do to make me speechless is to actually listen to me, and remember the things I have said! Also, letting me know he was actually thinking about me. Guess it all comes down to whether he likes me enough to have me on his mind and think of things he could do to put a smile on my face. I have always done this for men I have cared about, but sadly, I never got anything in return.

Such BS! I would love to hear the other side of the story. The other guys probably found someone that knows he was listening and remembering.

A sticky icky situation...
Posted: 4/20/2009 5:55:27 PM
Like so many others have said 'move out' or a least keep that in the back of your mind. It would be better and easier finding a place prior to be evicted. If you have feelings for the younger sister, don't let the older sister interfere. It will be ugly for awhile; more so between them then with you. Who knows how this will play out. If the younger one decides that she will pack and leave with you, the father will have to decided who stays; you and the younger sister or just the older sister. I would get an idea on who has the upper hand with dad.

Why are you EXCITED about being Single?!?!?!
Posted: 4/11/2009 5:38:52 PM
Being single is good . I enjoy the fact that I have no one to blame but myself if somthing goes wrong. Single equals freedom. Single means I have no one to answer to. Single means I can go somewhere without having to wait an hour while she puts on her face. Single means I can go out with friends without getting the 3rd degree when I can home. Single means that my job is not more important than her. The list goes on and on.
On the other hand, I would not mind if I had some restrictions. Who doesn't mind leaving work knowing they have a loving partner waiting for them when they return home. Someone who can turn a bad day into a good day. Someone who will stand behind you. Somone who loves you for who you are.
Yes, many of us 'singles' would like the comfort of knowing there is somone waiting for us.

Wal-mart Guy
Posted: 4/7/2009 7:06:53 PM
Walmart has this guy who greets customers as they walk into the store. This guy not only knows where everything thing is but he knows what you are looking for.
A man comes walking in and this guy says 'aisle 12'. The man looks at him and the guy says 'You're looking for motor oil. It's in aisle 12'. The man is amazed that the was was correct.
A few seconds later another man walks in. The guy says 'asile 2. Air Conitioners are in asile 2'. This man is also amazed by the greeter.
Now a lady is apporaching. The guy says 'asile 4. Toilet paper is in saile 4'. The lady says sorry but 'I am looking for Tampons'.
The guy says 'Sorry, I missed it by an inch'.

Could this be true..

I think may many men overlook the lack of physical beauty of the woman in hopes she is better in bed than the outside appearance. She may be great at knitting a sweater, but she better be good looking or at least desirable in bed.

Central PA Event????
Posted: 10/20/2008 6:20:23 PM
I think it would be great to get out. I don't frequent the bar scene but this is something than just hitting a bar. The location sounds good for those in the Harrisburg/Lancaster area. Those in York are not too far away either. Keep us updated as things progress.

I have never been to a POF event. Do more people typically show up then 'sign up'. I am from the Harrisburg area, about 80 miles west of the event. I spend quite a bit of time working in the outskirts of Philly and would not mind finding someone from that area. The Harrisburg area does not have such parties and the pickens is slim for attractive, available ladies. If possible, I am inclined to be a participant. Just cannot say I will be definitely there.
