a ....profile.... should be a daily journal

My pictures are up to date and my interests haven't changed, so there is no reason for me to update my profile regularly. It says everything, if not more, than what I need it to say. In my opinion, very few pay attention to it anyways.

Friday The Thirteenth
Posted: 2/9/2009 7:04:20 PM
In our family 13 has always been a lucky number.. and this year, my daughter's birthday falls on a Friday the 13th. She's going to be thrilled!

Now if it were on a Full Moon ... that's would be a different story.

Were movies better in the forties, fifties, and sixties, than they are today?
Posted: 2/8/2009 5:41:46 PM
I think ill sit and watch it and eat galaxy bars..... mmmmmmmmmgood

I bet that was MY Galaxy bar ....

I haven't seen all of the films that are up for nomination , but I do agree Heath Ledger and Robert Downey, Jr. were awesome. I was also impressed with Angelina Jolie in Changeling.

I stopped watching Tropic Thunder 15 minutes in.

Benjamin Button was a fabulous movie, but like I said, I haven't seen all the movies...yet.

I have no idea who will win this year's Oscars.

Sex as one of your interests?
Posted: 2/6/2009 11:13:16 AM
^^^

The name of this thread keeps changing, but the OP's original questions was:

What pops into that mind of yours if you see "sex" under a person's profile interests?

My thought would be that this person is interested in sex.

I have intimacy on my list of interests .. which in my opinion, covers a whole lot more than just sex.

what is the dumbest thing you have ever done?
Posted: 2/3/2009 4:13:45 PM
I crawled, because I could not walk, (I was actually on a wait list for back surgery) out of bed and down the stairs at 4 in the morning, made it to my car and drove out to the middle of nowhere to bail out my boyfriend at the time, who called me in distress because he had just totaled his truck while he was out on a bender. Oh, and did I mention it was my birthday that day and that was the first I'd heard from him?

And now I've just admitted this in a public forum. That's pretty dumb, too.

Explaining the origin of your profile name....
Posted: 1/28/2009 9:58:30 PM
*mb728* was already taken, so Bella™ just seemed like the next best thing

Originally my online name was BrownEyedBella. 'Bella' because the friend who convinced me to try online dating calls me Miss Anna Bella .. and well, my eyes are brown. I eventually dropped the first two words because no one ever used them .. I was just simply 'Bella'. The trademark symbol distinguishes me from any other Bella out there.

I'm a sucker for some of the ol' cheesy black n white classics .. and musicals, too

The best movie I have seen over the last 20 year was "Shawshank Redemption"

Definitely one of my favourites, too.

Along with Usual Suspects, Pulp Fiction, Fight Club, Braveheart, and Forrest Gump.
Ahhhhh .. there are too many to to list!

My Big Fat Greek Wedding makes me laugh out loud!

And I love Shrek! (Hey Knotttty, what was the donkey's name..?)

Love, Actually and PS I Love You are my favourite chic flicks

I have never seen Casablanca in its entirety .. keep meaning to get around to it though

Teen Clothing Store and Butt Magazine
Posted: 1/15/2009 12:56:34 PM
^^ Yabb, I'm playing devil's advocate here ... because as I've already said, I agree that having that particular magazine sticking out of a backpack was inappropriate ..

What if a 6 or 7 year old decided they wanted the backpack in question

The magazine was in a back pack, on a display mannequin .. I doubt the 6 or 7 yr old would be able to reach it.

And we're not supposed to 'touch' the display mannequins ..

Updating Profile... what gives???
Posted: 1/15/2009 12:02:48 PM
I just keep getting the same ol' ...

"The description field is too short.
You get 3 times as many messages if its longer."

How would you like it if I told you that yours is too short, and you'd get more if it was longer?

Maybe I don't want 3 times as many messages.
Why won't it just let me update my profile?

Teen Clothing Store and Butt Magazine
Posted: 1/15/2009 11:43:45 AM
For starters, the store is not only geared towards teens. Adults shop there as well.

It is my understanding that the mother and her daughter saw the magazine sticking out of a back pack on display, and it was the mother that pulled it out of the back pack. She did not happen to 'find' it there. And when she went to open it (why?), it fell open to a double page spread.

I agree that having that particular magazine sticking out of a backpack was inappropriate (plus there are by-laws that state where adult magazines can be displayed), but I guess I really don't see the big deal. Just close the magazine, put it back, and walk away. Walk out of the store even.

And if this was the first time that the teen (or possibly the mother) had been exposed to pornography, then I believe it would be time for a mother/daughter talk.

I also suspect the mother might have been a tad bit homophobic. I could be wrong.

Ok, bring on the hate mail.

Bad Pictures...I mean REEEEAAALLY Bad...

when they are really not good pictures AND the write ups are bad too, is it cool to ask if their posting is a joke or if they are for real?

If they made the initial contact, I see no problem in asking if their profile is serious or not. But I'm not so sure I would contact someone whose profile I came across in a search and had no genuine interest in, just to ask them if their profile was a joke.

the curse of working in camp?
Posted: 1/9/2009 12:19:41 AM
My ex-husband worked in camp for the first 3-4 yrs of our relationship and it worked purrfectly. He worked various shifts .. 7/7 .. 14/7 .. 10/4 .. and I loved it! Anything more than two weeks away at a time became a little more difficult. While he was away I did my own thing. I worked full time, did stuff I enjoyed, either alone or with friends, as well as took on the role of a full time single parent to my 2 year old stepdaughter. Having him gone for all that time allowed me to build a strong relationship with her. (And cook all the foods her and I like to eat! )

I think the time spent he and I spent away from each other helped us to appreciate our time together when he was back in town. We learned not to take each other and what we had together for granted.

By the time our second child came into the picture, my husband was working in town and home every night. His choice.

It was sunny and beautiful here today, but last night there was a lot rain and wind and fog. I was driving home on the highway and it was f***** scary. I couldn't even see the flooded parts of the road.

I am so ready for summer.

OT

One day a girl friend of mine and her 9 year old son were driving along in her van. Her son turned to her and said, " You should try this, Mum ... you just put it in your mouth and suck on it. You just keep sucking on it, and eventually it'll squirt liquid into your mouth."

He was talking about Trident Splash gum.
