ummmm.....I came in and Kat you were closer to the door and someone was talking to you so I missed what the 50/50 was for. Maybe because it was the first time I ever saw the 50/50 but anyhow, later when I came back through I heard someone else say what it was for to someone else so I did put $2 in. And I should have put a few more, was going to get change and then forgot about it.

But I understand you want to be done with talking about it. But I wouldn't mind walking around with a bucket and personally asking if someone might want to throw a dollar or two in at an event. Great way to break the ice and say "hi" . Maybe separate the room into sections and have a few people do it.

I've always thrown something in everytime I've been to an event but for instance, if you came with a friend who is a member, maybe you really didn't know how the party was paid for, etc.

And otherwise, I think there have been some good reminders for anyone who has forgotten or not given something in the past. I'll make sure to throw in some more from now on.

Thanks again for the reminder!

As far as the donations for the next party. Could you set up a paypal acct to have people make their donations too? That way you don't have to have people show up on your doorstop or give out a mailing address and it will be an easy way to make a donation?

Kat & Linda, Thanks so much for all your hard work! It was so much fun! I met so many great ladies on fri setting up, I'm glad I had the opportunity to do so. Sat, was just a blast! I talked to sooo many people and had the best time!

Thanks also to Shellie for the name tags, it is so much nicer when you can walk up to someone and say hi, using their first name.

Hey Charlieboy,

Maybe you could message a couple cuties down there in Springfield to be co-hosts with you. If there are a few more in the planning maybe you'll have different ideas to come up with a killer event. Start small and work your way up or I'm sure some of the great hosts and hostesses would be glad to give you some pointers to start.

M'Lee and others who are thinking about it should definately come. It's Halloween, you will have a blast just dancing the time warp and drinking the cheap drinks. I went last month for the first time and actually swallowed hard and talked to a few people and bumped into someone I chatted with before and we had a great time laughing, talking and drinking....yep did a little of that too.

It was lots of fun and now I'm really looking forward to my second event. Guys could grab some devil horns and walk around with a devilish grin on your face all night and girls can throw on some bunny ears and say you have a weekend away from the Playboy Mansion.

Hope to see you all there!

Sorry Ann, I was thinking "party store" like party supplies, I didn't think you meant the Halloween stores. But I did see them there so I do know they have them and hopefully she won't have to order them online and pay for shipping.

Shellie, I was at Spirit Halloween on S. Lindbergh/55 and they had plus size fishnets for $5.99. I needed them for my costume and was happy to find them there.

Strat beach party aftermath pictures
Posted: 9/30/2008 3:24:23 PM
Kat,
I'm so sorry I wasn't able to arrive in time to cover my shift at the door. Moving my daughter was more than an all day event and I was trying to do too much that sat. I had a great time at my first POF event and looking forward to the Halloween event. I wish I could make Shady Jack's on the 11th but will be out of town.

I like the Stratford, the rooms are cheap so that was a plus, not having to worry about drinking and driving. Being on Hwy 44 (major hwy) seemed like it drew people from all over but maybe it doesn't matter.

If you need someone to cover a shift at the door, I promise to be there on time. I already told my daughter she can't move anymore! I did get a heck of a workout though!

Thanks to everyone who planned the event.

I don't want to sit and not offer just have a busy day tomorrow but really looking forward to coming.

Perpetuating the myth that you Need to go to a St. Louis Catholic High Schools
Posted: 9/8/2008 5:35:17 PM
Born and raised in St. Louis, went to Catholic school until 4th grade but I've always asked people to see where they grew up. Thought that's why everybody in St. Louis did it. I TRY really hard not to ask people anymore but it's so hard to break old habits.

Should I stay with him?
Posted: 9/3/2008 7:53:03 PM
Gee, there was a day when I was a young, single mom who didn't make much money. However, I learned young, my dad died at age 10 and my mom stayed home and took care of my sister and I and when he died, times got tough.

When I was an adult, I went back to school part-time while I worked and then worked hard to get myself to a position with a good salary, good benefits, etc.

I would never expect a man to take care of me and while most men I've dated still make more money than I do, I make enough to take care of myself and my children.

While I can appreciate having young children, most women now don't have the luxury of staying home with them because most households are dependent on 2 incomes and while I understand having a home-based businesss, could you work either a part-time job or full-time job with a salary and still maintain your business?

As far as keeping him, I'd say "yes". I agree if he is helping his mom and has his own bills, trying to take on you and 2 children may have him stressed out more trying to figure out how he's going to stretch his salary. It sounds as if he has feelings but maybe he just doens't make enough to take care of everyone on his own. Good luck!

Spin off Shallow Men: BBW Admirers or FA's
Posted: 9/2/2008 7:43:27 PM
Thanks for making me laugh. I call myself BBW on here to make sure men know I'm more than a few extra pounds. I weigh under 250 (saw that pages ago) but there's enough of me to love. Am I ok with myself, yes. However, I have decided I need to lose a bit of weight to help keep my blood pressure & cholesterol in check but not in order to attract a man.

If a man isn't interested in me the way I am, it's his preference. But it's also his loss. Do I have a ideal guy in my mind, to an extent - but would I rule someone out just because of their body type or whether or not he has hair anymore. Heck no, because I might be missing out on the best thing that could ever happen to me or making a good friend.

I'm looking for what's inside rather than what's on the outside. Give it time, maybe those skinny french girls will start developing curves!

Very long hair on a woman is very femine and sexy, but few women have long hair
Posted: 8/30/2008 7:38:52 AM
I agree it's so hard to maintain, I usually keep mine about shoulder length, I can put it in a pony or pull it up but my hair is thick and hot and I hate that it's so hot in the summer. I've been thinking about letting it go a bit longer in the fall.

Some women look really cute with short hair but I think most women do what pleases them, if men had to take the time to blow dry and curl long hair they'd have a better understanding. I'd rather sleep a little longer in the morning.

It's the cell phone or me !!!
Posted: 8/30/2008 7:33:24 AM
since I'm a divorced mom, I'll answer my phone if my girls call but if I'm on a date, I tell them ahead (my girls are both over 18) so they don't call for nothing but I won't answer it for my friends, etc. I do have an elderly mom so I'll pick up for her too but I always worry that something may be wrong if she calls my cell.

I did date someone who seemed to resent my daughters calling but when I was just spending time with him (after that dating phase was long over) and they needed to get ahold of me, they'd just call but he did hate it. I'm a mom and they are going to need me, deal with it.

Would you open you marriage to save it?
Posted: 8/30/2008 7:20:22 AM
No way, I guess I can't judge someone else and what they do, but if I were married and we got to this point. It's time to get serious and either get things back on track . Marriage sure doesn't have to grow stale but again, you have to work at it to keep it fresh. Maybe you just need to change things up a bit on your own: read a spicy novelette to your spouse or have him come home to you in something skimpy. Get the romance back in the marriage.

Would you want to know? What do you think about this?
Posted: 8/29/2008 7:01:57 PM
I wouldn't push it; maybe there was too much pain and he's not either willing or wanting to discuss it. If someone wants to share, I'd listen but if not, I'd drop it.

Do you see divorced people as damaged goods?
Posted: 8/29/2008 6:55:03 PM
I'm not thrilled to say I've been divorced twice. Never thought I'd ever wind up divorced and then twice, so I always take a deep breath when I fess up. While my girls are now both over 18, I never expected the 2nd husband or even anyone I dated to "raise" my children. I never fought with my ex about my daughter, we had an obligation to raise her and we did, a very good job too, I might add.

I'd date someone who was divorced, even when I was younger in between marriages I'd date someone who was divorced. I wouldn't judge, because unless you walk in their shoes, you don't know the real story.

I've always been a person committed to making a relationship work but it's a 2-way street.

So, no damaged goods in my book, as long as you learned and grew from the relationship, you're good in my book!

Labor Day Fish Float August 29th thru September 2nd
Posted: 8/10/2008 5:41:01 AM
I didn't get to make the 8-8-8 party, wound up working way too late but my 27 yr old daughter just joined and she mentioned doing this trip and we might be able to. Is everyone also planning to camp as well? She still has to find someone to watch her daughter but we're at least penciling it for now.

She might have a "date" but if so, then I'll need a partner and I'm not too bad in a canoe, know enough of what I'm doing to be dangerous but hopefully always keeping the canoe in an upright position.

I'll stayed tuned to this station.
