U Weight Loss

I'm just curious if anyone has or does work for them. I interviewed today, and want to hear more about the job from someone other than a manager

Thanks!

No-one likes him except me
Posted: 11/17/2009 2:18:59 AM
After years (6) of being single I met a great guy this summer. I decided to let my walls down, and open my heart to what may be. By making that choice I have been more myself with him than I ever have with anyone, including family and friends. It feels amazing.

We've been together 4 months now, I brought him back to my hometown to meet them. Unfortunately, the general consensus is that he's dead weight. He has no drive, ambition, or sense of direction. ALL OF THEM say "I can do better. I'm settling. He's a deadbeat. He's sponging off me and if he feels ok doing that now, then when it's convenient, he always will. I should see what they see and therefore drop him."

He came out here from Ontario, on the Road Trip of his life. He left a $30/hr job and a richy apartment. Sold his car, sled, big screen etc. to buy an AstroVan and come out West. Since he's been out here he hasn't had a job. He's collecting EI and living off that. I'm guessing that that's the issue...but what are they seeing that I'm not?
My friends and family have been around a lot longer than him, and they are all on the same page -without me even telling them that they all feel the same way.

Follow my heart or follow the people that care about me?

Damsel in Distress
Posted: 12/15/2007 10:39:02 PM
well i'm glad i posted this b/c i got a lot of insight that i wouldn't have, even talking with most of my friends. i'm going to go with the "if you were the gf" and just tell him that i don't think meeting is a good idea right now, b/c as much as i'd like to just be his friend it isn't friendship that is in my heart.

and just to clarify for all you ripping me a new one:
he told me that he isn't planning to move back to CGY
and she isn't planning on moving to ED
and he then asked when we're doing coffee...
so i took that as a bit of an opening

thx everyone!

Excuse me...is this mine?
Posted: 12/13/2007 10:01:27 PM
well i just had a quick IM chat with him -
the reason we didn't' work out before was b/c he was fresh out of a 4 yr. relationship. we 'saw' each other for 6 months and then my schooling ended and i moved.

we have always stayed connected and had good convo's and stayed in uber touch.

so the IM -
he made it clear that she's not moving to ED and he's not moving back to CGY, so i then said - " so when are we meeting for coffee then" and here we go. monday =)
i just want what i want - and i really think that we could enjoy life together - and i mean for real. i have been petrified of SERIOUSNESS for a long time. but with him i would give it all.
he has always been loyal and such a stand up guy.
i'm so scared of the next steps b/c ---know what PoF'ers !!! - here it is - what we all dream and wait for.......

alrighty then - the general consensus is to live and let live - and so i will. it's just hard for me to accept after all this time - that now that we are here together that i can't readily pursue him.
thanks PoF'ers i will do innocent coffee.
and hopefully there's an until.......

Just moved to a new city and so did a man that I once seriously dated. We both moved to a city that neither of us would ever live in, simultaneously not knowing it! And we both once said that if we ever did end up living in the same city again, that we'd get together again.
He has a gf in a city about 3 hours away.
6 months they've been dating...
How to approach - thoughts please....

What is your technique?
Posted: 8/20/2007 6:50:51 PM
I would think at 20 money would be an easy motivator. Right now anyone who will show up on time to any job site for 2 weeks in a row will get a raise. (After the 2 weeks of course) Trades are desperate for people and are willing to hire (for the most part) anyone who can swing a hammer.
OR take a car part out, or paint, or deliver packages......
Tell him to try it for 2 weeks, he must know someone who has a construction job. Or possibly someone here does.
The cheque he gets at the end of 2 weeks hopefully will be an eye opener. Also, offer him a reward from you. To show him you're proud as well, and will be even more so if he sticks to his commitment (it will help him get out of bed those morings, or go home early when out with friends -when he reaaaaaally doesn't want to. )

Then if you think he's into computers.....there's all the free money the governement is throwing at our youth to get a diploma, degree, etc. Web Design, Drafting...
Even the most unmotivated guy should know that get an education really isn't that hard. (unless you wanna be an engineer or something) and the grants the gov't provide - i mean wow - i got a 36K education for 18K.

Those are my thoughts - and nice thread OP
Good Luck

SO things aren't looking good - I don't cope well with drama. I've never been a drama girl and don't enjoy having it around. But whoa - is this what I have to look forward to for the next while?!?!?
I'll stay out of the middle as much as possible - but geez moving to MTL is looking good right now.
I took a couple days off work to recoupe after I got back this weekend, was very much needed - but now I feel like I have to explain that to my boss. I can tell he doesn't understand. How do you explain to someone that life as you know it is unravelling?

Can anyone recommend a book on "Fulfilling your wife's needs" or something like that? Dr. Phil, whatever. I need to go buy some for my dad. I called my parents last night to find out that they had a fight Tuesday, and my mom hasn't been seen since. I tracked her down, and now I need to do whatever I can to get her home. I'm hopefull they will work things out, but regardless my mom has dropped hints before that Dad isn't all that she needs, so I want to do what I can to help. This has never happend and I'm terrified - they've been married for over 25 years...I know some of you have been there so your insight will be helpful I'm sure....

Anything is helpful. Thanks fishies
